  1. Yes, Saze also thinks that Wax inhaled misted Lerasium, though how he burned it to activate it isn't seen or shown That doesn't change the fact that Saze is lying to Kel's face straight up though about Lerasium being created when Harmonium is split, it in fact doubles down on it. Lerasium and Atium both CAN be created by splitting Harmonium, but Saze is saying just Atium can be created that way
  2. Oh he’s lying for sure, but is he aware of it?
  3. Got my copy yesterday from Amazon and read through it last night SO MUCH STUFF in there I'll need to re-read it probably with some note-taking going on... SO much happened. Loved the ending and Wayne's choices/arc. Loved the vignette epilogues, that was neat Gonna spoil some specifics just to be extra careful for now:
  4. Great answer and further explored in the Lost Metal just released today! It was a great read!
  5. I think its just retention of Ashyn stuff
  6. I doubt you're the only one, but I think you're in the minority Every time he appears "on screen" in the books since WoR I want him to go down hard, and I get disappointed when he keeps not. Especially in Oathbringer and at the end of RoW.
  7. I like this idea... that the seeds of their individual madnesses came from their rationale for ditching the Oathpact at Aharietiam Certainly could be seen in Nale's case, I agree. Kalak too could be similar (RoW spoilers): Not sure for the others though, and I too am tired
  8. That WOB actually makes me more inclined to believe that Helaran wasn't actually involved with the Skybreakers with how Brandon answered it. I think the best evidence against him being involved with the Ghostbloods is what you already presented. The only other group he could have been involved with that might have had Shards would have been the Diagram if it's not the Skybreakers. Off the wall thought... what if he was a Shin agent somehow? There is a ton of missing shards out there... I think at the end of the day it'll have been the Skybreakers after all, but I do hope we find out at some point more of the "why" they were striking at Amaram/Son's of Honor, and why they loaned plate/blade to Helaran rather than sending a bonded Skybreaker
  9. This could all very well be part of it! I always thought that Stormlight leakage had to do more with their concepts. Storms rage and move and push/pulse, etc, so the light will naturally find any flaw in a gemstone that is present to leak through, unless they are "perfect" gems. The Void (in my mind) is a place of stasis, one where the only motility is what you bring with you into it, it doesn't move of its own accord, so it doesn't leak/escape the gems Though why something "implaccable" like Honor generates Stormlight that is volatile while something like Odium that is all about passions/emotions/raging generates the Void light... that is something I don't understand
  10. Kaladin is explaining the First Ideal from the POV of someone with an Honor spren and the Windrunner's sensibilities though I would argue that the Skybreakers took the first parts of the First Ideal more seriously than the other Orders in choosing to not break their oaths and join the Recreance. They chose to Live and they chose what they thought was Strength. Also... if you abandon the journey you can never make it to the Destination, so I'd say they've done a great job of maintaining their First Ideal Oath for the last 4.5k years... even if their morality may be somewhat lacking. Were Skybreakers other than Nale running around killing proto-Radiants? I can't remember now
  11. Interesting point about the diamond's infused state Certainly a perfect gem...
  12. I like this theory Not sure it's right, but I do agree that we're assuming a lot about what Maya was trying to say there in the 2nd section. We trust Adolin almost implicitly because he's a "good" POV character, but he isn't omniscient. While their bond is stronger than any non-radiant, and he can often sense her emotion even before she started speaking again, it doesn't mean he's exactly right in this interpretation. I hope we get more of this background/lore in SA5 though!
  13. I read them
  14. I'm still a fan of the Chana was Shallan's mother and her death actually triggered the Return theory (i.e. Taln never broke but was just mad after 4.5k years of torture when he was sent back)
  15. Huddled against the wall and shaking with fear, Lylac just stared at the pointy metal thing the notorious criminal pointed at her. She wanted to ask a thousand questions of Tria, but couldn't get any sounds to come out.
  16. I think he just never summoned Shardplate or dismissed it long ago He's never really needed it probably in all the years since the Recreance there haven't been people who can really threaten him in battle with his dual blades and his full command of two surges where NO ONE else outside of Shinovar even knew of surges I assume he will wear it in a battle with Szeth at some point, but we'll see Skybreaker armor from Szeth's POV as has been pointed out. Honestly I assume at this point that Szeth/Nale will end up fighting for leadership of the Skybreakers, though how Szeth could win that fight... ? Though, now I'm wondering if Szeth will also have dual blades potentially. He should be able to summon his skybreaker spren as a blade at this or some future point, and he'll also have Nightblood ...sorry for that rambling digression, though I suppose the OP has been answered well enough It does make me curious if there is a schism in the Skybreakers between those who support Nale and his plan vs others who do want to bond human-supporting KR though
  17. Tia's eyes flashed upward at Lylac's response and she quickly brought her finger up in a shushing motion. "Quiet Ly! The walls aren't that thick," her friend's response trailed off as if wall-thickness wasn't a problem she'd considered before. Lylac could see an avalanche of plans roll across Tia's face quickly as her eyes lost focus for a span.
  18. So I tried to change my email notifications to a daily digest hoping that it'd stop bombarding my email with these notifications from the spam bots, but for some reason, I get them all as new emails anyway, and all my other messages as a daily digest thoughts on why that is and what I need to unfollow or whatever to not get 50+ emails to my inbox from the bot messages?
  19. To reform big A, you’d have to reform all the Shards together which seems like a big ask I personally think he’s just in it for the ride and capital S story of the Cosmere. That or maybe shattering all the Shards so there are no “gods” to mess with the galaxy because of their Intents driving them
  20. I don’t think he is Radiant, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him or Adin Radiant in future SA books. Maybe not SA5 since there such a short time gap, but maybe in the back half after the time jump?
  21. Either Allomantic Pewter or Feruchemical Copper Both are readily available metals and would be amazing to have IRL for their various properties
  22. I think that was a miss in edit, there were no mistfallen in Urteau to my knowledge
  23. I just assume that generally speaking a Pulser doesn't ingest their metals so they're not forced to burn just to avoid metal toxicity I mean, why would you keep cadmium in your reserves normally, it's just not something you'd want to have ingested daily That said, there are also nicrosil chromium mistings that could burn it away for you if you had to have it burned off to sleep
  24. By her own words, she wasn't sure what even Dalinar would do with her pruning. Maybe it was a lie, maybe note. Maybe she knew what to expect from T as a human I don't think she really knows what to expect from TOdium honestly As far as her motivations, it really depends on if the Intent is in control or the Vessel at this point. If Cultivation Intent is in charge, then her goal is to prune and cultivate all things, other Shards included with no end goal other than growth and continued cultivation (my opinion). That would include the Shard of Odium. Rayse was out of control, growing wild, so it needed to be pruned/cultivated. TOdium is a whole new thing and I think is going to end up being a "blight" which she didn't foresee coming honestly. We'll see though!
  25. I think the idea is individual fighter vs. team leader/fighter/coordinator/order follower
