  1. I mean... we literally saw Shai use an infusion of Investiture to do this, just not with Allomancy right?
  2. So for me personally, THIS would feel super contrived as a revelation. It would mean that all of Shallan’s growth was to a degree false, and would require a lot of “oh this thing I should have mentioned in the narrative or mental POV of different characters as Shallan interacted with them I just didn’t because I didn’t want to give it away” would feel cheap to me and not Sanderson’s style. I have hope that he ls going to give us something different than both of those as Shallan’s last secret and that most people will be pleased with it!
  3. Is anyone else just TERRIFIED by these Epigraphs or is that just me?!? I am SO scared every time I read one basically Argh, I'm so nervous reading these epigraphs and the chapters! We hear in one of Dalinar's flashbacks that "the Radiants had Ryshadium" so I'm sure that Gallant is far more special than we knew even before. I wouldn't be surprised to see him swoop down out of the sky in this battle to save Adolin or someone EDIT Also... I love how we got a sort of explanation for where all the missing shardblades went neatly in these early chapters. No massive hidden cache of them in Shinovar or elsewhere needed now. They've just... faded from the Phyiscal realm after being lost or forgotten with time.
  4. I read it, it's not THAT spoilery, but specifically it doesn't speak to what happens to Taln's Blade
  5. Given what we're seeing in these chapters I've been trying to pay attention in my re-listen of tWoK (in the run up to KoWT release) to other mentions of the wind/Wind Chapter 43: The Wretch *bold words mine, other emphasis already in the text The Ch 3 Epigraph says But perhaps here we're just seeing it without full voice but urging as best it could...?
  6. I like this theory as it also seems very Brandon, to have us all spinning our wheels and honestly answer that Hoid didn't steal it etc in WoB... because Taln just dismissed it and Hoid gave him another blade to allay suspicion
  7. it makes me really wonder about the place of Metalborn in Scadrian society as the powers themselves get democratized and spread through MetalTech I wonder if their society will go the route of ignoring metalborn sDNA because they don't "need it" anymore OR if it will go the other route where all people are tested for Metalborn sDNA so they can help continue to fuel/test the creation of new MetalTech
  8. This has been my understanding following Shadows of Self and the revelations in it
  9. Great question! I guess there are 4 choices on interpreting that until we see more non-Enlightened Truthwatchers in action This truthwatcher "foresaw" it in that they could see the "train wreck coming" and whispered because they weren't brave enough to say anything Honor Truthwatchers have a more dim future sight as you said, but by this point without Honor or the Heralds around, it had already become stigmatized as "of Odium" so they weren't trained in it and weren't familiar with it As #2, but it's a "full Future sight" and they weren't trained in its use/interpretation/sharing it Renarin is NOT the first Enlightened Truthwatcher I think any of them are viable interpretations as this point, though I tend to lean either with #2 (your idea) or #4 personally
  10. I've always assumed that it was like this but with also a "psychometry" style thing, like they can make illusions of past events related to people or objects and thereby discern the Truth of what happened to someone/something. The flipside of that then is the Renarin/Rlain version where they see the coming Truths
  11. Can I just say that I am SO worried about how SA 5 is going to end based on what we see in all those death rattles?? Also based on what we know now of some future stuff... it just feels like its going to be so bleak
  12. One thing I will say, SA book 6 is only supposed to be a decade or couple of decades in the future after SA book 5 per WoB. Originally he said 10-15 years, now he's more cagey on it, but says that Mistborn Era 2 (Wax/Wayne) takes place post Stormlight 5, but he isn't sure if Bands of Mourning is before or after Stormlight 6. Though in 2021 he did say that all Wax/Wayne take place in the 10 year gap between SA 5 & 6 (LINK) He also said recently at C2E2 that Renarin will be a big part of books 6-10 so they can't happen that far in the future.
