Also wow you did a pretty good job with a really comprehensive role analysis. Makes me almost want to change my mind about voting on you :P I suppose I could switch to Ventyl

Thanks!

Didn't get a chance to do player analysis due to getting slammed at work yesterday, this, and... *gestures vaguely at QF*. I can do that during Night though, although N2 is probably where I do a different thing.

To vote or not... TJ is one of the players I was hoping to get to late game with, and from what I can see I don't like the reasoning on them. (Partially because it's close to the reasoning on me... but also Szeth and Archer are going off the reason that TJ's vote was "Elimly timed", which seems... is there a reason it's Elimly timed besides it breaking a tie? It's late, but that close to rollover is usually more active.)  So... I'll hold off on that, for now. Hopefully I'll wake up for rollover, and will self-pres if I need to, but in the meantime... Araris. Partially for the vote for Boxings, partially because I don't think I've seen Araris piggyback on someone's reasoning before without giving his own (or at least do so after D1 pressure-votes).  While Ventyl doing that is a bit iffy... it's also very Ventyl to do. So I don't blame him too much for it. Also small white text is not a thing I realized could be done lol.

If you’re referring to this cycle, I had TJ in my suspicion list that I gave at the beginning of the cycle, and I think I’ve explained the reasoning I’ve used a couple of times now. I’m fine if you just want boxings, but please get your facts straight along the way.

Yes... but you still didn’t move there until (immediately) after Archer cast his vote and Mat gave support/understanding. Not a slowdown off of Drake from the thunderdome, then a new vote; just a swap without non-contextual reasoning.

I’m going to sleep for now, but is that suspicion list all of Drake-TJ-Biplet-Ventyl?

@Szeth_Pancakes, you said you'd be doing your analysis Cycle 2 onwards, since you did not want to be read wrong based on your Cycle 1 analysis, but all you did this cycle was jump on Archer's vote. Could you give some of your own thoughts?

For starters, we have one Elim kill, and then two of Coinshot-Kandra-Hemalurgist. I believe last game the kandra could kill on alternating turns, not even ones, so if the rules are the same it could be a Kandra kill. I would hope the Kandra rules aren't the same, so could also be an every-turn kill, but for now I'm assuming a Hemalurgist and a Coinshot.

Likely any changes to the Kandra rules would include letting a dead Kandra talk to their successor in a doc, so the rules would have changed even if it's still an every other turn kill.

I do think it's more likely that an elim!nicroburst would stay silent and boost elim actions instead of fish for roleclaims at the expense of publicly dragging in a teammate or having to help villagers. Unless the elims have nothing worth boosting, the former is certainly safer.

And I'll have you guys note my elim read on Lotus (which from the reads list, was the strongest and which I would have followed through if she wasn't killed) and there's no need for elim!me to put pressure on a teammate or bring attention to her that early in the game when everyone else was null reading her.

If you killed Lotus this is obviously relevant, but otherwise your belief that Lotus was evil due to only having RP without game discussion was unlikely to put her in danger of the exe. On the other hand, even if you didn't kill Lotus, whoever did might have done so at your suggestion, so mentioning an elim read on a teammate is indeed more risky than in a game without village/non-elim kill roles.

TJ is right that my vote for Mist last cycle was out of character, but I'll be reverting to type this cycle by voting on someone who has votes and might die. I'd support either TJ or Ash dying I think, but I'm pretty sure they're not both evil, and it's certainly possible that neither are. TJ bringing up that he had an elim read on Lotus feels wrong for some reason, even though it's a reasonable thing to mention. Ash's role analysis post would feel out of character for a normal game but in this one it's probably just an attempt to get boxings. I don't want to vote Szeth, no real opinion on Ventyl. I won't be around to change this vote, so I guess this one is going to stick. I do think I have to vote for |TJ| here and let everyone awake later in the cycle figure things out.

I'm not going to be on again until after the end of the cycle, so I'll look at the actions of and reasoning about everybody who has at least one vote (as of when I am writing this), list the relevant (to me) facts about all of those people who I think have valid reasoning about them, and vote on one of them. I’m mostly going to use the reasoning that other people provided, but I’m looking at it from my own perspective & deciding what I think is significant.

TJ

Was the person who actually broke the tie, which saved Mat. So if TJ is an elim, then I think Mat probably is too.

Read Lotus as an elim due to only RPing even though it would’ve been easy to mark that as a reason for a null read. However, this could theoretically just be distancing.

Ashbringer

Their vote was the most suspicious of the votes on Experience because their reasoning was tie avoidance, and it makes sense that at least one person on that train would be an elim

I don’t agree with the reasoning on the other three (Szeth, Ventyl, and Araris). Szeth’s reluctance to so analysis at the beginning of D1 is apparently typical for them, Ventyl’s negative-attention-getting-behavior seems like something that an elim would avoid, and Ashbringer’s claim that Araris is piggybacking is built on shaky connections.

I am somewhat suspicious of TJ & if they flip elim then that implicates Mat due to TJ breaking the tie, but I’m a bit worried that they were the one who killed Lotus because they’ve been the only person to elim-read Lotus, and I don’t want us to lose another powerful role this earlier in the game. My suspicion levels about Ashbringer are slightly less than of TJ. I think I’ll take the risk of killing a possible coinshot and vote on TJ.

Uhh okay, so you do agree that it's unlikely elim!me would not mentioned anything about Lotus, and yet you vote for me? Yes, maybe Lotus might not [edit] have been in danger, but she was playing so similar to her game in LG73, and I would hope someone would have noticed that too.

That's because it's the only thing I can use to defend myself. I can't defend myself against "timing seems elimy" in any other way than just not wanting to lose a possible good villager for no reason.

There really wasn't a need to distance from an elim teammate that early in the game.

2 hours ago, Flyingbooks said:

Nah, I'm not the Coinshot so don't worry about that. Though I am a Lurcher, so do whatever you want with that info. I protected Archer last cycle.

Last thoughts, since everyone seems to not be coming back before rollover:

My next vote would be on Biplet, she feels too on the fence about me and Ash, and feels like she wants to hide in side-trains. Also, there's the previous repeated emphasis on her retraction from Experience.

I'm not so sure about Drake, but I think he's village.

Look out for Mat. If he's repeatedly vote for Szeth, there's a high chance he's an elim. Just because I'll flipped village, do not clear him.

Still think Books is village, and a bit less sure about Archer now, but I guess vote is still sorta valid.

Szeth, I keep flip flopping cause they just jumped on Archer's vote. Why would they trust Archer blindly at this stage?

Ash, I'm actually not sure. I inquired about Ash to Araris because he differentiated us, so I wanted to see if there was a connection, but now Ash is voting for Araris, sooooo... :P

I have no clue about Araris, I'm not discerning if his vote on me is malicious or not.

Who else who else?

I think that's it? Devotary has spoken too little for me to get a read, but as I said, she's behaving differently to the usual games.

Guys it turns out I'm awake right now, if not for long. Who'da thunk. Still I'm a bit tired so bear with me if my thought process is a wee bit rambly.

Looks like the Ashbringer vote isn't going anywhere, which is.. Interesting. But staying there doesn't seem likely to accomplish anything of material significance anymore. Even though I kinda still believe it's the best exe for this cycle.

So... It looks like TJ is dying today. Which, is fine, because it removes a player that I had very little solid read of any kind on, and as far as I'm concerned that's a semi-decent execution. No matter what happens in terms of alignment flips my process of elimination ought to benefit from this.

Now I could just throw my vote behind executing TJ, and maybe earn like 2 boxings for my troubles. But you know, when honestly doesn't the town need a devil's advocate? :P I reiterate that I do not particularly believe in unanimous wagons: they tend to be less informative, less likely to succeed, and worst of all boring.

So yeah, I'm going to throw out taking a third option. As I am won't to do occasionally. slightly tempted to vote for Araris again lol

Devotary's recent post feels sorta off, but I don't think I have the brain power to put my finger on why right now, so you know what?

Biplet.

Sorry I just want to know you're alignment :P

TJ also has a point, though. I say as I do nearly the exact same thing

oh my..... self
well one elim is down, that's good
fortunately lotus (due to being the only person i rly know in this lobby) was basically the only person i talked to on day one
so to add my to cents to the discussion i'll tell you what i know
didn't say much apart from claiming she'd me dead before i would be (so good instincts i guess @Lotus )
though she attributed that to her always being sus, leading me to believe she was marinating me

now... regarding the rest of the thread
i am just so confused , it seems like there is nothing really substantial event though an elim is gone
kinda unfortunate she wasn't more active so we'd have more to go with

as to voting looks like TJ is getting booted but i am not going to add any vote, cos i don't have any particular suses and i like the spread

Posted (edited)

I am probably most sus currently of Ash. Cause fewer reads and maybe something else.

I'm reading TJ village.

And I probably don't have time to switch so yep

Edit: oops wait cycle ends in an hour :P

Hm biplet. Cause I'd prefer them to TJ

But I'll go look at people in the 20 minutes I have

...Hmm. I didn't want to do TJ or Ash because I had just enough of a paranoid village read on both of them to not vote either when they were up, but I think I'll let Szeth_Pancakes go for today and vote Biplet. I'm probably more sure about Szeth but I'm apparently alone in that and I'd rather my vote mean something.

Ventyl (1): Biplet

TJ Because I can’t justify staying on Ventyl instead of self presing

I didn’t move there earlier because Drake is one of my greatest suspicions and I wanted to see if I could convince anyone to vote on them. But we were halfway through the cycle and had no trains. An opportunity to pressure someone I suspect is not something I’m going to just ignore. I stand by the vote on TJ, and will continue to do so no matter how he flips.

That is the list, yeah.

Ben T. Copper was freaking out. He couldn't find the extra copy of the train schematics he'd left in his room. He'd been the one to leak those to the rebels. It shouldn't have been a big deal. Sure, Ben was a little crooked, but he didn't want anyone to die. And he certainly didn't want the Republic to fall. The system as it was now benefited him too much. But well...someone had those schematics, and that definitely wouldn't look good for him.

Ben tried to calm his nerves as he went about his normal duties throughout the day. Every sudden noise, whether it was someone dropping a pen or someone standing up to yell at another politician about some asinine problem, made him jolt. Each time, he felt his heart rate rapidly speed up as he was certain this time would be someone finally accusing him. He could feel the phantom cuffs being put onto his wrists, the tiny cell he'd be put in closing in on him. And he could feel something worse coming, too.

However, he made it through this day's meeting unscathed, surprisingly. He let out a shaky breath as the first of the politicians started to make their way out of the hall. Maybe I just lost it, Ben thought to himself. It seems like everything's gonna be-

His thoughts were cut off as one of his fellow cops, Harold, who he'd picked out for today's guard duty on purpose because he thought they'd be sympathetic towards his cause, tackled him to the ground, putting cuffs on him. It was over too fast for him to react, and he barely had time to even try to open his mouth.

Once Ben was securely held to the ground, the cop turned to the startled group of politicians. "Sorry to alarm you this way, but we found this," he said, pulling out the train schematics from his back pocket, "in Treveneux's apartment last night. We've suspected him for awhile, and-"

"Mr. Goodman," Goren interrupted, putting up his arms to corral the gossiping politicians. "Enough with the theatrics. Please explain what these schematics are."

Damn, Treveneux thought. I thought I could trust Harold, but he was with Goren all along.

"They're train schematics. Of the exact part of the tracks that the rebels sabotaged." There was a collective gasp, but none were louder than Trevenuex's pleas. Even with him saying he was only a little corrupt, that he didn't think anyone would get hurt, it was a fairly easy vote to sentence him to execution.

Suspicious of the late voters of TJ, especially Devo/Books who I was side-eyeing anyway. No clue why Szeth voted there.

The vote off Biplet is... concerning.

ok interesting
so that's a rioter
we already sorta knew there was at least one soother (and perhaps one of those vote storing ferrings)
i'd be really keen in hearing y'all's takes about the alligniment of those people

personally i have no idea
i dont think we can presume anything from the day one cancels
as for now i can see it being the elims wanting to not have a tied vote (do we know if ties mean no one gets booted or if it is 50/50?)
but perhaps having a tie to limit our info is better for them
so i really don't know

never mind
i just can't count
it's the soother or the feruchemist again
damn, i'd actually like  rioter
i'd still be interested on any thoughts about their alignment

XD. Hi, Illwei. Care to explain why Ventyl had a similar playstyle to e!Lotus?

Sorry, TJ. It appears I have a knack for starting successful exe wagons on villagers.

Also, I was robbed yesterday. Perhaps the Thief is evil after all. Unless someone out there would like to argue I'm a good person to steal from? I don't have much money and I'm a villagery villager, according to most reads lists.
