  1. "Oh, yeah? I've never lived in a rural area. Big stinky cities for me." Maybe that's why your personality is so disagreeable, Sharp joked, his good mood restored. "Probably." "Umm, I'm okay to sleep now okay kid?" Sharlin told Winter. She lay down her orange jumpsuit to make the rock more bearable, then set up the crossbow so she could grab in quickly and tucked her knife into her shirt. "Please don't stab me in the back, that wouldn't be fun." She lay down and closed her eyes, willing herself to fall asleep and rest. Goodnight. Gosh I miss sleeping. "Yeah, keep watch okay?" That might be beyond me, I can't really see things . . . normally. She shrugged, "Nevermind then." Sharuel, not seeing any immediate dangers, flapped into the cave. He snuggled up with Sharlin as she drifted off. @Lord Spirit ------------------------------ Sharp sat back, leaning on the 'cave wall,' which for him was just a convulsing mass of mist. It was lonely, here in purgatory when Sharlin went to sleep. He welcomed the peace of it though, heaven only knew what insanity they'd face tomorrow. Wandering over to the entrance of the cave, he surveyed the island. Different shades of mist mad up trees and rock. In the distance he thought he saw a large expanse of dark, obsidian-like stone. That would be the ocean. He watched wispy leaves shift against the dull grey sky. Purgatory sure was weird. Not that he'd expected it to be normal, or anything. The back of his mind tingled, and he felt the pull again. The distant whole in the sky was present here, too. Sharp supposed it would have to be. Many would would die in this place, so they path to the next life would of course be wide open. He pulled on him, threatening to rip him away from the island and whisk him into whatever lay beyond. Part him wanted to let it take him. He'd might see Annie again, and finally might some of his children and children's children. But no, there was still too much to do. He turned to glance back at Sharlin, her soul a familiar blurry light tucked in-between walls of mist. She was his family too, if distantly. It made him so mad. He closed his eyes and tried to rest his mind at least. Instinctively he reached for the cigarette box in his pocket. Pulling the worn paper box out of his pocket, he studied the faded label on the front. He hadn't had cigarettes when he'd died of course, no use for those in the arena. He'd managed to pick it up when he'd first come to on this side. Whatever small influence he still had over the physical world let him take it and keep it close. He pulled out a single cigarette and stuck in his mouth. If he only he had a way to light it.

      Through The Living Glass

      Your character is asleep, right

Because if yes you only need to know that Casper and Rueben have died (though I think you were there for rueben), and Berin was killed by a verdant spore-eater redspine-deepwalker combo monster . . . thing.

      Clear?

    2. Through the Living Wrath

I mean there is this that is sort of dead:

true but still 😭 ur one of the people I interact with most here 😭

genuinely concerned about the state of my brain cells at this point

  5. She divided that dark mushy contents in half, eating her portion and the handing him the can with his. "I think it's beans . . . not that it really tastes good." I hate beans. "Why's that?" They grow on plants, and I hate plants. "Ah, I see. It must be terribly difficult for your mother to get you to eat your veggies." Oh ha ha, very funny. Sharp still seemed grumpy about earlier.
  6. "Want some food?" She pulled out the can of food she'd opened and nibbled at earlier. It was sill fairly full. If they split it they could still fill their stomachs and have a few cans left for later. Sharuel stayed out of the cave, keeping watch for a bit.
  7. "Very well," Lady Genuhk said, continuing now that confirmed they would stay in. "Allow me to explain our challenge." She gestured at the brightly colored wagon. "The premise is simple, two wagons, two teams. You will be given a wagon to protect as it makes it's journey from Tarjin to our neighboring city Morduno." "The highways these days filled to the brim with thieves and monsters," Master Igenes explained. "Each wagon is full of priceless treasure from Lord Ehlu's treasury. I'm sure you can imagine that if he finds out you were responsible for loosing a chunk of his wealth, he won't be likely to hire you." Lady Genuhk nodded. "It couldn't be simpler, just protect the wagon until it get's to Morduno. Make it there in one piece and you'll be considered for the job." Master Igenes waved a wrinkly hand at the wagons. "We'll each travel with one of the teams so we can see your progress. Team 1 will take the blue wagon, and I'll go with them. Lady Genuhk will be with the 2nd team in the red wagon." "If we don't have any questions, go ahead and get in your respective wagons." Nera sheepishly raised her hand. "What?" "I've never been to Morduno, how long will the journey be?" "Around three days." @Ancient Elantrian @Just_a_Fan @J. Magi @BrechioSwordMouse @Scars of Hathsin @SmilingPanda19 @TheRavenHasLanded @Dragonheir @Spark of Hope @SpiritOfWrath @TwinSouls
  8. "Look, we'll both fit in here, I think," Sharlin said, crouching down to examine a crevice that looked fairly deep. "It's got pretty good walls and a roof! Better then I could have hoped for." She slid into the cavity, pulling her bag behind her, and settled into the far corner. @Lord Spirit
  9. "Well . . . my home planet is a gas giant actually. All of are cities floating on clouds." He did his best to explain without getting too science-y. "When a city is abandoned, no one maintains it and gives it the power to float, so any 'ruins' just fall into the superheated gaseous center of the planet and burn away." Kurtis entered the main building, looking around. It was mostly just dull grey bricks, rotting and cracking. Even so, he looked fascinated. On the far wall of the first room was another doorway, with only darkness beyond. It seemed that part of the building still had a roof.
  10. "It's okay, buddy, you can talk to me!" He insisted sympathetically.
  11. "Yeah, I'd rather not stay on the beach. Aquatic monsters aside, we'll attract other tributes." She let him take the lead as they tracked upward, watching their back and double checking the ground for ants. "I really hate this, honestly. What's the point of a killing game if we all die of weird bugs or depression flowers?" Sharlin ranted quietly as they walked, more to Sharp then Winter. "Honestly. How am I meant to murder people if they're all hiding in the trees, or are miles away on another island? What happened to good old fashioned combat? Dragging it out like this is so stupid . . ." Aaaand you're back to being creepy again. "Says the literal ghost." You were doing so well earlier! When you helped Winter I thought your were starting to have a change of heart. "Yeah, sorry buddy, it's still the same old me. He just seems useful, that's all." She whispered this, hoping Winter wouldn't hear. Riiight. It has nothing to do with the fact he reminds you of yourself. "You have no idea what you're talking about." Sure. Sharlin decided to ignore him, focusing her full attention on scanning the landscape between the trees. It was really getting dark now. If they couldn't find a cave, a really tall tree would be nice. @The Bookwyrm

  13. "Those were different ants," She grumbled. "But whatever." They made it to the edge of the clearing and away from the ant hills. "Will the shore be safer? I'd rather find a cave or something."
  14. I was leaching off of my dad's Netflix, but he got rid of his subscription because he wasn't using it lol right after the trailer dropped too Also I sorta get where your coming with Wax, but I also really like him so who knows.
  15. I REALIZE THAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING BUT IM BUSY

    SORRY

  16. "You must be struggling a lot, you poor thing." Penn put an arm around him. "What's wrong? Are you having a hard time with your home life?"
  17. *sobs* I'm not excited for Arcane season two . . . because I can't watch it anyway Welcome to the Shard!! What's your least favorite Branderson character?
  18. "That's pretty emo buddy, you want to talk about it?"
  19. "Um." "Is that supposed to happen?"
  20. Kurtis pointed ahead at the most intact building, at the near center of the ruins. "That one looks the least untouched. Maybe there's some clues? Not to mention, it'll be a great place to make camp." The large bird squawked, and the flew off as they moved further in. Kurtis got to the buildings empty doorway first. "This is so cool! We don't really have ruins where I come from."
  21. Nera nodded, thinking. "Those will all definitely be useful." "I'm good with most basic weapons, and I'm pretty good at cooking." When everyone had once again gathered at the city hall, Lerren lead both groups through the hall and out a back door. This lead to a small courtyard with a stables to one side. One side of the courtyard was open the road, leading out into the city again. Traffic bustled past, though the 3 walls of the courtyard muffled a lot of the noise. In the center of the paved stone area were two wagons, one painted bright blue and the other red. They were unbelievably tacky. Master Igenes was sitting on a bench to the side of courtyard. Lady Genuhk stood next time. Lerren lead them over. "Everybody ready?" Igenes asked cheerfully. He actually looked excited. "This should be fun!" Lady Genuhk rolled her eyes. "This is the last point where you can back out," She explained firmly. "After this point, you will be held responsible for leaving without permission." @Ancient Elantrian @Just_a_Fan @J.
