Sharlin did not notice him, too absorbed in staying quiet and watching the forest floor. Sharuel chirped for the first time in a little while. "You sense something?" Sharlin whispered, rubbing his head. He flew off in Winter's direction. He's just bored, I'll bet. Sharuel landed in the trees by Winter, watching him.

Sharlin continued on, watching out for ants and ignoring Sharp's further attempts at a conversation. She felt the need to stay quiet in this place, for whatever reason. Sharuel seemed to agree, because he'd stopped chirping.

"At least we won't be want for water in this area," Sharlin mumbled. She stopped to load her crossbow, pulling it back the way she had seen House soldiers do in her childhood. Sharuel landed on her shoulder, watching curiously. I hope this place isn't haunted . . . it's creepy. "It's haunted by default if you're here."

Hmmmm I was expecting more mutant wolf monsters They were well into the jungle proper by now. "Mutant what now?" Nevermind. Sharp did have a point. She didn't like how quiet it was, and the only danger she'd run into was the ants. "At least . . . the plants seem normal?" Sharlin said, attempting to look on the bright side. Don't trust them, they're luring you into a false sense of security. "Riight . . ."

Sharlin took several large gulps of the water. She dug through her bag, looking for a container. She pulled out the box the medical supplies were in. That's not going to be water proof . . . "Your probably right, I don't really have anything good to take it with me in." Maybe we can rob someone. "Weren't you trying to be the moral one in this group?" Stealing isn't as bad as killing people. "Whatever." Sharlin, carefully avoiding the ants, made a small cairn on the beach, pointing to the location of the stream. She couldn't carry the water with her, so she might as well try to remember it's location. Someone else would probably find it, as a result, but that didn't matter to her. It's not like the stream would run out. Satisfied with her work, she returned to the stream. She took another long drink of water. "Alright, I think we'll head a bit deeper." If you insist. "Part of me is just curious about what's in here." Sharlin pulled out one of the pieces of food, letting herself snack on it as she went. She focused on watching the floor for the ants, she didn't want to die by an insect bite. Then she wouldn't be able to tease Sharp about having a dumb cause of death anymore. Your curious? You should be afraid for your life. "Well I'm that too, but after all the interviews and training and stuff I've sort of coped with it." Good for you, I guess . . . He actually sounded rather concerned.

Oooo water, that's handy. "I don't like the look of those bugs though . . ." She gave them a wide berth as she stepped into the jungle for the first time. Sharlin knelt by the stream when she got to it. "Running water is usually fine to drink, right?" It looks clean to me. Hesitantly, she poked her finger in, and then licked it. If it was toxic or something the damage would be minimal.

"A knife!" She said, holding it up. "We really lucked out with this." More like a toothpick. "It's better then nothing!" She glanced around one more time to double check that she was alone. "Look away, I'm gonna change now." Alright sure. Sharlin waited a few good minutes, because she couldn't actually tell if he'd turned or stopped looking or whatever. Then, she quickly pulled off her jumpsuit and changed into the camo outfit. "I'm all done." Sharuel landed on her shoulder and trilled. Very fashionable. "Thanks!" She repacked her stuff in the bag, keeping her crossbow out and ready this time. She shoved a few extra bolts in the waistband of her new pants. "Shall we try the jungle now?" Do we haaave too? I hate plants . . . "What else are we going to do? Sit on the beach all day and wait for someone to join the party? That sounds nice, actually. She shook her head and went up to the tree line again. Starring inside and looking for any immediate dangers.

After several minutes of walking, Sharlin stopped on the beach and sat down. There wasn't anyone around at the moment, so it was probably safe. She pulled off her bag, and started digging around in it. She pulled out the crossbow and bolts she'd thrown in their, and carefully set them on the grass. You definitely should've grabbed a close-range weapon. "I know, I already realized that . . . I'm not a complete idiot." She turned back to the bag. assessing it's contents. @The Bookwyrm

Sharlin continued to swim back to the beach, taking note of the fish in the water. Maybe later in a more secluded spot she should try fishing. Hopefully her backpack had something useful in it. She was already cursing herself for not thinking to grab a knife. When she got back to the shore, she didn't hurry into the forest, despite the nearness of the other tributes. Carful of the vines, you never know when they might strangle you to death. "Noted," She said, approaching the first few trees. She stared inside and looked for anything potentially hazardous. Sharlin decided against rushing in, and instead started moving down the coast, heading down the mostly eastern side, according to her map. Sharuel landed on her shoulder, curious. "Where do you think we should go?" He chirped in reply. "Very helpful." Ask me! Ask me! "You already told me to avoid the plants." Yeah, but I need more attention then that . . . "Oh for heavens sake . . . you're both useless." It's not my fault I'm lonely

July watched Jolane go, looking somewhat dazed. "It'll be alright," August said, patting him on the shoulder. He'd come back by now, after finding a shovel somewhere. "You should go sleep while you can." "No . . . your injured, you need help." July finally said, coming out of his stupor. He gestured at Septembers body. August looked at him for a minute, judging whether that was a bad idea or not. "Alright . . . thank you." July nodded, he needed something simple to take his mind off the less then simple. ----- The two men asked around, and a villager directed them to the small plot of land they used to bury people. After a few hours of digging, they got her body down in the whole. They both stared down at her, taking a breather before they were to move the dirt back in. August had taken care to arrange her nice. Her hand was placed in a way that made it look almost like it'd never been sliced off. Her hands neatly folded in her lap, her hair brushed out of her face, her eyelids closed. "I . . . I miss her." July mumbled. "Yes . . . our September has been gone a long while already, hasn't she?"

"I . . . fine." She backed away a few steps, swinging her bag onto her shoulder. "Peacefully," She stressed as she moved closer to the water, not breaking eye contact. Wow, you're really going to trust her, huh? "It's not a matter of trust, it's neither-of-us-want-to-end-up-injured-this-early." You're so kind and merciful, my dear. Sharlin rolled her eyes. She wasn't actually sure if he could see her do that, but whatever. She jumped back into the waves, hopefully before Aerol changed her mind and decided to attack. Sharuel took off from the beach, following her from the sky. @The Bookwyrm

"I don't like that plan, you might stab me in the back . . . I'd hate to shed blood so early in the games." Her voice had a threatening edge. Aeorl would have a fantastic advantage shooting a swimmer from her kayak . . . maybe Sharlin should just stay on the cornucopia till after she left . . . Well, well, well, there are the violent tendencies we were all expecting. So much for waiting around, the party was getting started, it seemed. Time to make a decision! Sharlin hesitated.

"Wanna be friends? We have . . . silmilar tastes," Sharlin said, nodding at her crossbow. That's a terrible reason to ally with someone. "Are you going to sit there and criticize me, or are you going to actually give good advice?" Technically I'm not sitting, I'm standing nearby, you just can't see my cognitive form. "Right."

Sharlin grabbed one of the crossbows, along with as many bolts as she could find. It was closest to something she'd used before. The speargun looks like a great way to accidentally kill yourself working out how to use it. She dumped it in the backpack she'd just grabbed. She wouldn't take a kayak, that'd make her far to big of a target, now it was time to head back-- Sharlin eyed Aeorl. She didn't want to jump in the water and turn her back on a loaded weapon. "Hey there! . . . what's your name?" Negotiation? From you? That's surprising. "Oh shut up," She mumbled.

Sharuel, her Aviar, circled in the air above her as Sharlin swam the last stretch to the cornucopia. Her muscles weren't aching yet which was a good sign. She pulled herself up onto the sand, taking half a second to catch her breath, and then running to the cornucopia. She couldn't see any else there yet, but still she kept her guard up. Sharuel lighted on the sand nearby, pecking at a stone, probably confusing it for something edible. He meant well. It's so unfair they gave you all maps right at the start, back in my day we had to find those on our own. "I see," She replied, mostly tuning him out as she hastily scanned the supplies in front of her. Sharlin immediately grabs a backpack, and starts scanning the weapons for a gun, or long-distance weapon of any kind.

Sharlin takes in a deep breath of fresh ocean-salty air. Her childhood home had been by the ocean. She had hated it there. Oh, come on, they had to pick a setting with tons of vines?! Sharp I grumbled from inside her head. Or her soul, or however this was supposed to be working. He'd explained it a few times but she always got bored and spaced out. "You're the only one bothered by it," Sharlin whispered in reply with a chuckle. When the gong went off, she ran to the edge of the beach and dove in the water without hesitation. It was probably fine to swim in . . . the gm's wouldn't want everyone dead before the tributes even reached the cornucopia. They liked the bloodbath for supplies too much. Sharlin swam as quickly as possible. She admitted, she was a bit rusty, but after a few strokes she got into a good rhythm that allowed her slip through the water fairly easily. Y'know? I never actually learned to swim myself. Grew up on a farm, and my games was in an abandoned city, of all things! "Very helpful commentary," Sharlin gasped back at him. She was almost to the sand-bar now. Just a little further.
