  1. I think Khriss would have said something had that been the case. Since she doesn't, we can probably assume that the system always was this way. She does point out other unusual traits after all.
  2. Brandon has said that the Ones Above are a group we have seen before. So they are not from the Drominad as at that time we had not seen the other two worlds in the system at all.
  3. Dirin is male. Heelis is more neutral than anything else. More can be discussed in the Prose forum. I can't say more here without running into prose information. On a totally separate note, I asked my husband - with no background given - whether the cloud face was male or female. He said it was either a woman or a very young man. So that may imply that Bavadin is female. My own impression was that the clearest images did appear female, but felt I was a biased observer.
  4. Though Kell does not seem that interested in ascending again... It would be fitting though. Especially if he does it for a totally selfless reason.
  5. I think the Roshar system was actually created pre-shattering. I think Khriss would have mentioned it if a Shard was involved in the system's creation (as she does with Scadrial.)
  6. To be fair, we know he's a feruchemist and we have seen him use allomancy... So he's probably Fullborn.
  7. Since Kell seems to be recalling the appearance of the Skaa hovels in the coppermind, I would say he does seem to remember. Also
  8. There are variations even among small closely related populations.
  9. Ambition: a desire to achieve an end. HOW this works as a Shard I don't know since EVERY Shard has ambition. One could even argue that they are defined by their ambition. (To Ruin, to Preserve, to Cultivate, etc.) I wonder if that Vessel actually had the most control, as it seems that Shard of Ambition would need a goal to seek.
  10. Oops. I thought it said Blue giant. I must have skipped the word super. Rusted baby brain... I wonder if Khriss is wrong about the designation of the larger star though. Blue Supergiants are pretty unstable, as opposed to their smaller cousins. Unless Autonomy is stabilizing it somehow. Btw, if the system is artificial I think Adonalsium might be the responsible party considering how fascinating Khriss finds the creation of Scadrial. She'd probably mention it if the same applied to Taldain.
  11. The aons could also be viewed as artistic symbolism. At least one is a clear geographic shape. I'm thinking of some cave drawings, which can be seemingly simplistic but are not really. (I Had a MAJOR argument with a bunch of people taking an art history class where I was the only actual art student on that topic. The other kids were 'oh, that bull is so badly drawn' and I'm like 'if you saw that bull by torch light it would seem to move.' Teacher agreed with me. Basically, prehistoric artists created animated images. Yes, very 'simplistic.')
  12. Sirius is a white dwarf orbiting a blue giant. So this sort of binary system does exist in real life.
  13. So basically Mr. T was the Cosmere's Hari Seldon on steroids for a day. Though individuals would still seem to be a problem...
  14. He did. He was seen with his wife, I believe. Also, Yata, Edgli is female, not male. We have seen Taldain as well now. So that's five out of ten. The Aether world and the 'Dark One' world are two others I believe. Odium is on Braize, so should count. So that leaves 2 unaccounted for. First of the Sun, Threnody and Ashyn are Shard worlds, but not part of the ten Major ones.
  15. Actually, its Connection. You have to have a fairly strong Connection to a Shard to take up its power. That's why Kell had to use the Elsntrian fabrial hack to take up Preservation.
  16. Nazh is from Threnody. That's why I suggested it may once have been a choice, based on his statement there. Thanks for looking up the quote.
  17. It should be noted that at one point Threnodians may have chosen to become Shades. The evil may have been an event that caused those Shades to become badly warped.
  18. I really hope I'll be able to go... this is the first time a signing has been close enough to get to, and I don't know when he'll be this near the city again. Sigh...
  19. 24 karat gold jewelry is basically pure gold. I doubt it'd be used for burning though. The personal insight isn't worth losing your jewelry.
  20. There is another Mistborn error, where it quotes an old WoB about Vin and Elend's final fates. SH made the decision there quite clear.
  21. It's not the only one. There's one about Vin and Elend maybe returning someday, which is now outdated too as we know they won't be.
  22. When you give your son a toy Stitch and he decides to name it Ati and you are beyond thrilled. Then you have to explain why it's so awesome to your husband... Also when you try to plan giving birth around when Brandon is coming to a signing.
  23. Just a heads up: I finished painting my previous piece and am now working on the thumbnails for this story. Part of what I love in your story is the celebration of DaDa and it's nature. So I'm planning to let the art be a fairly big focus and utilize some actual dada images and works in the comic. I'll try and figure you out how to send you the thumbnails when they are complete.
  24. Also, the prologue actually takes place closer to 5000 years before SA begins. The years are Rosharan and are slightly off. Scadrian years are closest to Earth standard.
  25. My point was that the interpretation is inaccurate. Only half the sentence was quoted (the other half is about pregnancy, making the meaning of the first half clearer.) It was also out of context; it is Eve's punishment and not an especially nice thing. With that context the whole thing takes on a different cast. The male Dominion is a punishment, and leads to pregnancy implying the Dominion is in intercourse. I highly doubt Brandon was talking about sexual domination when he crafted Devotion and Dominion! Therefore, despite the initial impression it doesn't really apply. Unless you meant in the sense that one flesh refers to marital relations? Both quotes do reference that.
