  1. Considering the wide variety of possible interpretations for Autonomy it is conceivable that he would leave his opposite alone. A LOT depends on how the concept manifests. Remember; Ruin could have been a lot worse than it was. What we got was the best interpretation Ati could find, though someone with a stronger personality might have found a better one; someone with a crueler nature might have found a worse one.
  2. Also, if he increased his hearing, he could listen to the heartbeats which would tell him if they were lying too.
  3. Actually the Dor is fueled by both Shards power and Dakhor, Aons, Forgery, etc. are all variations on a single system. Now if only I can figure out how to find these WoBs twice...
  4. I'd take Feruchemy here on Earth. Wakefulness is useful both ways and being able to lighten my self would be nice right now. Health and Luck are great. Zinc would allow you to ace any test. Quite a few others are exceedingly useful, and can be quite subtle. Era one I'd take allomancy. Being a Feruchemist would be too dangerous. W&W Id take both and be twinborn. Steel/Gold maybe. Modern and Space I'd choose feruchemy again, since all the metals should be widely available at that point.
  5. I saw that you ranked him as such. I was wondering why? I'm also not sure what you mean by ranking him 0.
  6. Why isn't Kell included? Also, Allik, Leras and Ati? Poor Fuzz...
  7. I think they are too alike to get along. Each sees the worst of themselves in the other.
  8. Also worth considering is how often we get a cold. Every time that happens it put some wear on your body. The lack of those illnesses on Roshar - until Demoux introduced it - would likely lead to a longer life span. And there is more to maturity than mere age; your average 12 year old today couldn't hand pregnancy and birth, but go back a few centuries and they did. In cultures where certain life stages are expected to occur earlier the mental ability to do so also does. At least one theory of psychology holds that mental age has more to do with social factors than physical ones. At the very least it is a combination of many aspects.
  9. Interesting. Actually, preprolouge Dalinar seems a little more like Kell to me. Chasing down a man while bleeding from three arrows so he can recruit the man who, incidentally, shot him? That sounds more like something Kelsier would pull off, not Marsh. Young Dalinar seems to have loved fighting and was quite foolhardy and immature in many ways. Then Gavilar died and he changed greatly. Interestingly, Kelsier seem to have matured some too We may want to wait until we know more of the Blackthorn before rushing to make comparisons:
  10. The power does seem to have intermingled though. Since a lot of this determination seems to be based off one's perspective I'd say that 16,15, and 14 are all accurate depending on how you view the matter.
  11. On that part yes. He would want her to stick around. And if she didn't want to, well, he would be happy to volunteer. He hadn't changed THAT much.
  12. He only really had to knock him down. He kept doing it because he could.
  13. How a Shards power manifests has a lot to with world it is invested on. It isn't a choice exactly. Ruin and Preservation are weird because they created Scadrial; other Shards did not create their worlds and so have less control over the manifestation. I also believe I read a WoB ages ago that the the magic on Sel was different before The Shards were splintered. So there is that too. Id also argue that relationships are about Connection, and that ties to a land and people are Connection (which seems clear from BoM.) We know from SH that connection is spiritual, not cognitive. With regard to the Biblical references, keep in mind that those are translations and Old Hebrew is insanely complicated. (Seven 'houses' or tenses. Male and female terms and singular and plural forms of both of those. Oh, and a million exceptions to every rule...) In Jewish mythos Adam and Eve started out as a single person (she was attached to his back. Yes, it's weird.) Also each person only has half a soul with the other half being with their spouse. This actually works rather well with your theory. The second quote is a mistranslation though; the actual words used are very unusual. (One, I believe, appears twice in the whole Old Testament and both times in Genesis.) And it's also talking about intercourse; the woman will want it but be too shy to says so and the initiative will then come from the man who rules her in this manner. It's tied to the first part, about the lengthening of pregnancy. So the translation is actually closer to craving and cannot really be switched to devotion since it's referring to the physical sensation of desire, not an emotional one. (The commentator used is Rashi, who is referencing Tracate Eruvin. His translation is drawn from a word using the same root in Isaia. Other commentators may differ. I'm too tired to look it up right now.)
  14. It may actually be 14 if the Dominion and Devotion have merged. Harmony is interesting; eventually it probably will be a single Shard. Just like two (or more) countries can intermingle and become one.
  15. In Warbreaker he does the big exposition piece (Brandon had him do it to make the story telling more interesting) and uses Yolish lightweaving. On Sel he tries -and fails- to become an Elantrian. He's working with the Skaze at this point. While trying to do that he also helps Sarene smuggle weapons. Later on he masquerades as the Fool in the Rose Empire and steals the moon sceptre. And considering that he beats up Kell in Secret History I doubt his intention was to help the Survivor. More likely their goals just happened to align.
  16. He has several books planned (I think they are Rithmatist 2, Apocalypse Guard, and TLM.) He also has to revise SA3 before release. And TOR will probably want SA3 released first, and that is set for late 2017. So I think early 2018 (January/February) is most likely. I suspect Rithmatist will be the last released as it takes the most research and is basically a non-cosmere cosmere book in many ways. (I believe Brandon originally conceived it as part of the cosmere and then changed his mind.) So my guesses are: SA3 being released in mid to late Fall; TLM being released in early 2018; Apocalypse guard being released in Summer of 2018; and Rithmatist 2 in the Autumn of 2018. Then a break until SA4 in late 2019.
  17. I take it you haven't read SH then. Warning for SH spoilers.
  18. It'll probably be a 2018 release for TLM.
  19. We do see what happens when you tap zinc in BoM.
  20. Personality, I wonder what she would have done
  21. But that isn't what happens during dehydration. I dissected an eye; even after removing the water there is a lot of material left over. And removing moisture does not turn skin to dust; that's actually how we make leather and parchment. Bodies in a desert actually end up preserved. (Like curing meat.) It always struck me as odd that the bodies were basically consumed from within. That really belongs in Cosmere theories though. Mostly it's just something I want to ask Brandon, especially since this theory is based more on descriptions from the prose, not the comic.
  22. Interesting. It just occurred to me that the eyes burning out when cut by a Shard blade sounds very similar to what happens if someone Overmasters too much. If I actually get to a signing I'm going to ask this.
  23. Comic figures with lots of colors. And I'd be very insistent on proper pigments.
