  1. It read to me that the Stormfather over time usurped the "portfolio" of The Wind and eventually began taking its place in the Pantheon. Should The Wind be the true bondsmith spren? Heck, the Stormfather is said to have created all the reamaing Honourspren except Syl. Is the ancient daughter the only honourspren not corrupted by the Stormfather? Was the genocide of the Honourspren a hit job that Syl has been maneuvered to avoid?
  2. So The Wind is an Old Magic God that was somewhat usurped in worship by the Stormfather? And Odium, in some way, was muting the abilities of The Wind until the vessel changed? Did The Wind at one point have a similar "portfolio" as the Stormfather?
  3. An unmade would be a great twist, but one would think the Tower would keep those influences to a minimum. The voice seems to be stronger than ever for some reason almost as if the tower has amplified it.
  4. I wasnt a fan of this ship, especially with Terra out there, but this last shoulder scene with Syl really really makes it seem like feelings have begun to form. It doesn't have to go that way. But the door for it to go that way seems to clearly be open.
  5. How thin could we go? Could you make spiderweb thin strands that cuts anyone who walks through it?
  6. Maybe something like "I need to share the burden" or something like that?
  7. Do we think there is a Roshar spren? Could that be what is talking to Kal?
  8. We don't really know what Bam is. She does seem to be 100% sentient, was a princess of Odium's side, a war general, has Kelek's respect, and seems to have genuinely wanted to help the Singers. We know that Odium wants to make Dalinar into a Fused, so a Fused human is entirely possible. Or perhaps a Singer was originally hoping to join the Oathpact but was turned away for some reason. Both could be possible. Either way, there 100% was someone who got replaced by Taln and that person is likely going to be at least mentioned in an important way. Assuming this 11th Herald plot point is going to bounce back in relevance somehow, Mishram seems like a very good candidate for the 11th herald. I don't believe Hoid makes sense for this role and there isn't any other immortal floating around from 4000 years ago that we have as a potential candidate. Odium Unmaking the original 10th Herald would just be a badass plot point. ---- Also, if you have read Dragonsteel Prime, there is a hint of something similar that I suspect was lifted. Not the same at all. But similar. Cant be more specific without spoilers. Spoilers DragonSteel Prime
  9. Shallan ain’t very clear either in the size. In Chapter 88 of WoR she calls it a sword as well: ”Her father barging in. Mother's friend with a knife, the two struggling, the friend getting cut in the arm. Blood spilled on the carpet. The friend had won that fight, eventually holding Father down, pinned on the ground. Mother took the knife and came for Shallan. And then ...And then a sword in Shallan's hands” The safe could be something akin to a rifle safe maybe and is larger than we think. Its odd to think why Lyn would put a shard dagger in the safe. Or that he wouldn’t be baffled at what a shard dagger was. Or why he would think Shallan wouldn’t just resume in it. As far as we know he never asked Shallan not to summon the blade again. It seems like he sort of thought the item in the safe was actually locked away forever.
  10. I think Bam was the original 10th Herald that Taln replaced at the last second making the whole relationships very complex.
  11. We haven’t learned what Shallan’s parents were bickering about. All we know is that it had to do something with Shallan’s future. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shallan had a little something extra that explains what’s going down.
  12. My idea isn’t that Testament is an Honorblade My theory is that Shallan actually has 3 blades 1. Pattern: Full bonded 2. Testament: was never placed in the safe. Instead, Shallan went to the garden to meet Testament after the incident. Due to the oddity of child oath breaking, Shallan was always able to resummoning Testament. 3. Chana’s honorblade was placed in the safe and then retrieved by Shallan prior to Shallan leaving to go find Jasnah. Shallan thinks she had two blades because she was told by Pattern that the blade in the safe must have been Testament. Pattern is wrong. Pattern was not a witness to the events, does not know how semi-live deadeye bonds work, and didn’t know about Chana A bit of a crack theory I know. But it could be true.
  13. I thought Kaladin but then my brain started to think it sounded like Lirin.
  14. I don’t know why, but the epigraph reminded me of Lirin. Maybe the Lirin is future Honor is correct. As for the voice, my mind jumped to it being Ba Ado Mishram
  15. This new reading seems to make the theory a bit less likely. Changing things from herald to champion make it more possible for this to be the same entity that Dalinar meets However, Brandon seems to be trying be less obvious about Chana here, so maybe he is trying to hide the StormFaker a bit more too.
  16. Well. There is no ruse to continue. Ishar or Ba Ado Mishram stoped splicing into the signal that the Stormfather was using.
  17. I don't believe Shallan killed her mother with Chana's blade. I believe there are briefly two blades in the flashback. Testament is summoned to kill Chana, but Testament is unsummoned and runs ran away to the garden. Chana was not expecting this. Almost at the same moment, Chana dies and Chana's blade is summoned back from Shinovar to her corpse. Even though Chana is not currently using the sword, the heralds and blades are both part of the oathpact and both return to. Braize together. Since tboth the Herald and Blade return together, it makes sense that an honourblade would return to its associated herald's corpse before the two travel to Braize together. Chana would only build a safe for her sword if she believed her sword would return to her upon death. Giving someone a honorblade does not make them a herald. The connection between the herald and the blade is special in some way. This blade corpse thing didnt happen to Jezrian because Jezrian didnt trigger the return to Braize mechanic. Also, weirdly, Jezrian's blade is with Moash and Jezrian when Jezrian dies. A stoneshamman might be able to wrestle control of a honorblade from a living herald, but the oathpact has the herald and the blade return to Braize. The honorblades are a part of the oathpact as far as we know. Complicating this is Shallan. Would the blade have resummon to Braize had Jasnah opened the safe? Is Shallan being half-herald-spren-whatever allowing her to hold onto her mother's blade in a way others couldn't? Or was the blade in the box long enough to sever the connection? I don't know but I am excited to find out!
  18. I totally agree she should have no connections since she is trapped in a gemstone. However, let's imagine that Brandon wanted a way for Ba-Ado-Mishram to affect the plot a little bit so that Ba-Ado-Mishram is a bigger deal going into book 6. I think what we have going on is exactly how Brandon might set up this opportunity for Ba-Ado-Mishram to effect the plot. Brandon makes sure that the visions are Spiritual Realm zoom calls that have been auto-scheduled. The God that designed them is dead. The Stormfather is disinterested and pays little to no attention to the visions themselves. No one is watching what goes on in the visions. Brandon also makes it explicitly clear that it is easy to slide into a vision by having Lift and Venli slide in seamlessly. It aint hard to hijack the signal behind these things. And how does one connect to them? Through the a spiritual realm perpendicularity. Perfect news for Ba-ado-Mishram. She waits for honour to die and for a suitable candidate to show up. Because the Spiritual realm is weird, and because Ba-Ado-Mishram is a mini god, Ba-Ado-Mishram manages to piggyback her influence out of the spiritual realm through the zoom-call perpendicularity visions. No one notices her doing this because Honor is dead and because the Stormfather is only begrudgingly allowing people enter the visions due to a promise. As she gets better at it, she manages to connect with proto-bondsmiths outside of the visions. She then influenced Gavilar in hopes of creating a new Herald that might be able to free her. The Stormfather becomes confused and is unsure what is going on. Knowing nothing of Ba Ado Mishrams connection to Spren, or the herald spren, or what she was doing with the zoom call spritual realm stormfather hijack, it is unclear how or why she felt a herald die. But if anyone is going to feel the death of a herald spren, it would be the god of spren bonds zooming into the cognitive ream while trying to make a new herald.
  19. And what role do the Honourblades play? When were they created? Did Honor give the heralds the honorblades before the heralds signed the Oathpact? If the Honourblades existed before the Oathpact, why did the 10 regular people get them? Were there oaths involved to get these blades before eventually swearing the Oathpact? If the honourblades were made specifically for the Oathpact, do the honorblades connect to the oathpact in some specific way? Or was Honour just like "Also, here are some cool swords before you go to hell forever. Not sure why swords would help you in hell. Best of luck." The heralds thought that the oathpact would end the Desolations, so why give a sword?
  20. Also, in terms of there only being a year between Chana dying and Taln returning, we know that near the end of the desolation there was sometimes less than a year between desolations.
  21. I guess we have this WOB showing that it was just Odium and the Heralds: Still very odd to me. Is the Oathpact an addendum to whatever deal Honour made to bind Odium in the Solar System? How can honour be like "I promise to myself that my soldiers will want to be on Braize and so that like totally locks the fused or whatever" Seems ... weak to me as a mechanic. Something else must be going on there.
  22. I wonder who the heralds made the Oathpact with. It is an oath to lock away Odium, but it is still unclear to me who had to agree and accept the oath. Did they make it with Honour and therefor it should be an honourable oath? Or was it made with Odium or Ba-Ado-Mishram or something, so the oath should be passionate? Odium seems to accept the pact and is free from it whenever a herald breaks. So maybe the oath is more of a passionate plea? It seems like the Stormfaker/father is hinting that the Oath is more of passion than of honour.
  23. I am firmly on the Stormfaker side. Even if the Sotrmfather is lying to Dalinar, I cant think of a reason why. If the Stormfather has evil goals to make new heralds, he sure hasn't given up any reason for it nor shown any interest in persuing it post-Gavilar. As for the faker, i am thinking it is Ishar or Ba-Ado-Mishram. People have gone into Isahr so I wont beat a dead horse. Ba-Ado-Mishram is an interesting choice seeing as she was a mini-god, has a connection to all spren, and I was trapped by bondsmith in the spiritual realm. Perhaps Ba-Ado believes that a new herald would be able to free her? And seeing as she is the spren of spren, maybe she has some connection to the herlands and the oathpact? Perhaps she could sneak into proro-bondsmiths through the stormfather bond and begin fiddling there. We have no idea what shoving a mini-god into the spiritual realm would do. We do know she is self aware according to what Kalek says. Perhaps she is the dark sun we see in Shadesmaar? But i doubt Ba-Ado-Mishram is 100% incapable of doing anything at all from the spiritual realm. And the spren of spren connections seems like a likely candidate for stormfather vision invasions. And if she were to do something, piggybacking onto spiritual realm connections to proto-bondsmiths sent into the physical by a a dead shard seems like a pretty good way to go about things. If anybody can manipulate spren and connection, it would be Ba-Ado-Mishram. I have a pet theory that Ba-Ado-Mishram was involved in the oath-pact as well. And my crack crack theory is that Ba-Ado-Mishram was the original 10th herald that Taln replaces. The stormfaker says "I am the biggest fool of them all" regarding the heralds. Maybe Ba-Ado-Mishram considers herself the biggest fool for going with Odium.
  24. I think Canticle was made by Ambition. An acolyte of Ambition brought the people from Threnody there. The planet has unexplained large mounds the move within the planet similar to how large mounds of the evil are described. The planet is specifically designed to prevent shades from overrunning the place. The planet seems like it is storing power for something big. To me, this is some sort of resurrection machine for Ambition. But I guess we will see.
