@little wilson and/or @Elbereth (apologies for the sheer number of qustions), can contracts be along the lines of "Do x and say the word 'aforementioned' at least 10 times in one post?"

Who would take that contract? xD

Sure :P Contracts can be pretty much anything you can come up with - past ones have included giving hugs, denouncing Tehlu, suggesting ideas for what to draw, voting out a noble, and much more.

I feel like this is sheer dead/spec doc erasure :(

We spent so long coming up with barely PG-9 contracts and skeevy drek just so y'all could populate your contracts board with Extremely Sus Stuff :eyes:

Due to the fact that I have read the full rules and obviously digested them completely, the sunk cost fallacy states that I am now compelled to sign up.

I declare myself as Percyl, an undeclared and perpetually sleepy student of the arcanum, dabbler in all manner of arts and sciences and pseudosciences, junior exorcist, seeker of the mythic green lion, and self-styled gentleman adventurer.

I was gonna say "sponsored by the music department" but then I saw the title of the video and realized this was unironically true :joy:

Signing up as... Issal, a young al-chemist who really doesn't know the University that well. I'll need to figure out what I'm submitting later.

Keep in mind I've never read KKC :P

Seconded :P

Pros to reading KKC: It's only 2 books

Cons to reading KKC: It's only 2 books >>

Honestly if you've read the rules for this game you have a pretty good primer on how the University works in KKC : )

I have but uh, you don't read it without knowing the background IMO.

This is where I get burned at the stake for noting I just re-read TNotW because I wanted to confirm an argument with El and Wilson about whether they used dip pens, reed pens, or quill pens and I was Disappointed to learn they used quills and also TNotW actually didn't age well to me, my younger self loved it and now it's a weird feeling re-engaging with it, but moving on :P

I may have spent some time yelling about how Rothfuss shouldn't call things fallacies if he doesn't understand what the actual fallacy is

There's also an impending random thin one with a slightly less dramatically long fantasy title that has a higher chance of coming out this year than the 3rd one I think?

But anyhow, not reading KKC didn't stop me playing the last three games.

...

Not that I'm saying actually reading the books is stopping me playing this game.

(They're good books)

((But to be clear, I'm not playing this game))

I definitely endorse reading the rules before the game starts though

Given the focus of the books, I feel it's inevitable we'll end up treating canon as loose suggestions. I've noticed a few mild canon mistakes I've made and am considering whether to fix them or not to, but will probably just be lazy and not bother.
