  1. I think it would be very powerful if ettmetal could replicate Aon properties from Sel, because the effects can be controlled very precisely. For example, one could use the cubes from Mistborn era 2 to let everyone travel great distances in a blink of an eye or be healed, or... well... so many cool things
  2. I would read that book
  3. Kind of Witty Title
  4. I think a tattoo of a spike(s) would look awesome (i.e. looking as if you are spiked). You can play with the color of the metals to make sure you get a cool set of allomantic powers!
  5. I don't think it is possible (or at least, not easy), since it would then be possible to create multiple living shardblades and equip multiple people with them (like Shallan did when she gave Pattern to Kaladin in the chasms in WoR). That would be a huge advantage in a battle, so I think we would see it used, were it feasible.
  6. My favorite is: "But he’d found that imaginary things were often the only items of real substance in people’s lives". Most of the things we strive for (love, beauty, fame, money, power) don't exist outside our mind, and I loved how elegantly Brandon put it here
  7. In addition to the listed above, Ishar almost stole Dalinar's bond with the Stormfather for himself: that's as direct an abuse as I can think of
  8. Thanks! We liked the names because they are meaningful to us, but not gibberish to people without Brandofandonitis
  9. I think Elend and Jasnah would have a very productive conversation about how to build constitutional monarchy.
  10. When your cats are named Stormy and Misty
  11. @Just a Silvereye It makes sense, thank you for the reference. It is great that Brandon already has a community he can rely on
  12. How does one become Brandon's beta reader? It would be wonderful if I could put my reading and re-reading of all of Brandon's work to use.
  13. Haha, wow, the voice, the mannerisms and the traditional "sorry for the slow week, I only did a 1,000 things" are so well done!
  14. To marry - Raoden, To spend a night with - Kaladin
  15. 7. Almost guaranteed advance in social status (yes, Bridge Four, I am looking at you) + the increased ability to change the said society (eg. Kelsier's crew)
  16. Haha, well, technically Soothing and Rioting are not that different, so not surprising that the same person can be both. Or maybe you were just Mistborn the entire time!
  17. Coinshot... quite inconvenient in the age of credit cards
  18. I really liked the question, but the best answer I could find is: Also, this: So... not conclusive at all
  19. I read it as he reference to the Recreance as well, and I hope, for Shallan's sake, that it was
  20. Maybe therapy sessions with Kaladin would help
  21. You are right, for some reason I thought I heard in one of the Shardcast episodes that it was dragonsteel. Silver it is!
  22. I believe the chain is made out of dragonsteel, so we will probably see it again
  23. Wow, this is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
  24. I had a lot of fun thinking about the following: if a famous fantasy (let's say Lord of The Rings) was written and actively read on Roshar, would we have Frodo, Gandalf and etc. spren appear? We know that spren, according to Jasnah, are "the ideas of collective human experience - somehow come alive". Considering that millions of people have read and imagined the details of the book, would it be enough for them to manifest as spren? Just imagine reading your favorite book and having a corresponding spren appear in front of you, drawn by your thoughts and emotions! Could be quite a reading experience! P.S. I would certainly love it if Cosmere characters spren appeared in my room while I am reading
  25. Dalinar quote from Oathbringer: "We can't just assume that because something is old it is right" always touches something in me. So many if us live by habit or tradition, without asking is the actions makes sense. So many gender and racial stereotypes persist only because people forget to stop and think whether what was is what should be.
