  1. Couldn't agree more, but imagining that wedding could be fun, considering the bride's family. Do you think Harmony would have to give her away?
  2. I think it depends on the intentions of your expeditions. If I were trying to establish a friendly relationship with an unknown nation, I would consider it wise to bring along someone who 1) had spent a lot of time among the representatives of the said nation and therefore is capable of providing insight into their culture; 2) is a friend of a senator and his wife, along with a local law officer and a noblewoman. I would not bring such an individual with me if I intended to escalate tensions with the other nation, since his stories about their rescue of him and conversations over hot cocoa may make it harder to see the opponent as a threat. Since we do not see an open conflict between the continents yet, I don't think his potential friendliness is the reason we didn't hear of Allik yet.
  3. I was surprised there was no mention of Allik so far: I expected him and Marasi to get together within the six years that have passed between books. It seemed reasonable that he would return to Elendel with one of the expeditions and there was strong foreshadowing for their relationship in the previous book. Maybe we will get to see it on screen instead.
  4. Make a mental note to buy a sharpener. What would you do if you found a note from a secret admirer in you pocket?
  5. I think it would be very powerful if ettmetal could replicate Aon properties from Sel, because the effects can be controlled very precisely. For example, one could use the cubes from Mistborn era 2 to let everyone travel great distances in a blink of an eye or be healed, or... well... so many cool things
  6. I think a tattoo of a spike(s) would look awesome (i.e. looking as if you are spiked). You can play with the color of the metals to make sure you get a cool set of allomantic powers!
  7. I don't think it is possible (or at least, not easy), since it would then be possible to create multiple living shardblades and equip multiple people with them (like Shallan did when she gave Pattern to Kaladin in the chasms in WoR). That would be a huge advantage in a battle, so I think we would see it used, were it feasible.
  8. My favorite is: "But he’d found that imaginary things were often the only items of real substance in people’s lives". Most of the things we strive for (love, beauty, fame, money, power) don't exist outside our mind, and I loved how elegantly Brandon put it here
  9. In addition to the listed above, Ishar almost stole Dalinar's bond with the Stormfather for himself: that's as direct an abuse as I can think of
  10. Thanks! We liked the names because they are meaningful to us, but not gibberish to people without Brandofandonitis
  11. I think Elend and Jasnah would have a very productive conversation about how to build constitutional monarchy.
  12. @Just a Silvereye It makes sense, thank you for the reference. It is great that Brandon already has a community he can rely on
  13. How does one become Brandon's beta reader? It would be wonderful if I could put my reading and re-reading of all of Brandon's work to use.
  14. Haha, wow, the voice, the mannerisms and the traditional "sorry for the slow week, I only did a 1,000 things" are so well done!
  15. To marry - Raoden, To spend a night with - Kaladin
  16. 7. Almost guaranteed advance in social status (yes, Bridge Four, I am looking at you) + the increased ability to change the said society (eg. Kelsier's crew)
  17. Haha, well, technically Soothing and Rioting are not that different, so not surprising that the same person can be both. Or maybe you were just Mistborn the entire time!
  18. Coinshot... quite inconvenient in the age of credit cards
  19. I really liked the question, but the best answer I could find is: Also, this: So... not conclusive at all
  20. I read it as he reference to the Recreance as well, and I hope, for Shallan's sake, that it was
  21. Maybe therapy sessions with Kaladin would help
  22. You are right, for some reason I thought I heard in one of the Shardcast episodes that it was dragonsteel. Silver it is!
