I wouldn't be at all surprised if Allomantic metals or at leas metals very close to them have specific effects. After all, color plays an important part in two different magic systems (Awakening and Surgebinding) from different worlds so why not metal?
-
Oh see what you meant now. Brandon has said Hemalurgy could be used anywhere in the Cosmere so it might be that any god metal could be used for Hemalurgy or perhaps Trell's attacks on Scadrial had Invested themselves enough to use it. We aren't sure how Paalm got involved. My guess is that she was upset about how Harmony got Wax to leave the roughs and Trell took notice and took advantage of taking one of Harmony's most effective agents away by sending an one of his agents to offer her a deal

@Hoid the Drifter it's not so much metal capturing an existing magic system. It's more the magic sytem forming out of the interactions between the planet and the Shards Investing themselves in it
-
The two magic systems that are in some way connected to Autonomy have one very important thing in common. They rely on an Invested organism outside of the one using them. For Taldain it is the microscopic organisms that turn the sand white and for First of the Sun it is the parasites that the Aviars eat But as was said before, the planet is the first factor in the magic system. It is what decides the key that the magic systems revolve around. Such as metal for Scadrial and shapes for Sel

It could just be another aspect of Autonomy as it has been said that there are entire pantheons where every God is Autonomy. That said though, I think it has more to do with religious syncretism where the Ruin Preservation dynamic was imposed on the original Trell religion. Arguably a Full Feruchemist could by using Duralumin Feruchemy

How many shards are there?[Hero of Ages Spoiler]
StanLemon replied to Chinkoln's question in Cosmere Q&A
I'd say 11 Shards. Splintered Shards aren't really Shards anymore, they are their own packets of Investiture. Sure they probably could be put back together into a Shard, but that doesn't mean the Shard is still their. The same way Adonalsium no longer exists. And as others have pointed out, Sazed now holds Harmony- 14 replies

My issue on it is that it doesn't have a cause for the switch. Like you said, when the Allomantic Investiture gets pulled through the metal the Feruchemical Investiture changes the shape that it comes out in. However Feruchemy draws from the trait itself to store into the metal, what would be the cause for it to draw an entirely different trait? With normal compounding there is the filter of Invested metal. But what you and @Winter propose there is nothing causing the conversion. Personally I think if reverse compounding was so simple it would have already been done in the books and at least referenced.

Bloodmakers or Surgebinders getting Jacked
StanLemon replied to MasterK-Bob's question in Cosmere Q&A
A-Pewter would probably be the best way to do it as its healing is just a supercharged normal healing, plus you could work out harder and longer because of Pewter's other aspects- 8 replies

Additionally it's subtle but religions we know that are associated with Autonomy or their Avatars give importance to celestial bodies

Going a bit further into theory territory here, but Aluminum Feruchemy might. It stores Identity so if you had stored Identity before Savanthood then maybe. This is if it can store more esoteric aspects of Identity and not just the Spiritual fingerprint part of it. Which I'm inclined to believe that it can considering that Duralumin can store things like 'blank' Connection

That's the prevailing theory at least. Brandon has said that Trell is related to a Shard we know and process of elimination has left Autonomy the most likely culprit.

Can't be logged in on multiple devices at the same time

That's good to hear, this started happening to me 2 days ago. -
To create the Bands he would need some kind of way to use Feruchemy. On a separate note, I think the spike in his eye is Duralumin

Fun ideas you think could be done with Surges
StanLemon replied to StanLemon's topic in Stormlight Archive
I mean...it would be interesting to say the least -
Just like the title says, what are some fun ideas you think might be possible with Surges. I'll start with a thought that Abrasion could make pseudo force fields. By upping the friction of air to an absurd degree it might be possible to basically make a solid wall of air.

The biggest issue I see is that Brandon has said it isn't time manipulation

Hypothesis: Burning Aluminum Can Heal Shardblade Wounds

So that's why he's gathering all those magic systems. He just wants his noodles -
Hypothesis: Burning Aluminum Can Heal Shardblade Wounds
StanLemon replied to StanLemon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
@Honorless We don't really know how Shade Withering works, but let's say it is that way. Burning Aluminum should at the very least cancel out the effects of a Shardblade as it is passing through you if you are burning Aluminum. -
Not sure if this has come up before. Haven't seen it though. So a while back Brandon has said that burning Aluminum can reverse attacks from Shades. He even described it as negating and reversing damage to the soul. This got me thinking that burning Aluminum could also reverse and heal the damage to the soul that a Shardblade does as well. What are your thoughts?

Gold Compounding probably mitigates the negative effects of age. I would put money on a Gold Compounder being able to live at least a couple decades past a hundred years old. I'd either want to be a Gold Compounder or at least have gold as my Feruchemical ability with Pewter, Steel, Tin, or Bendalloy as my Allomantic one
-
Even though there is an upper limit, that upper limit seems to be pretty high. Sazed was able to store enough Speed for a weeks worth of running in just a couple Steelminds. I also personally think the skill of the Feruchemist might also affect the efficiency of the storage.
-
Multiple actually. Bismuth, Lead, and Tin.

The Coppercloud does in fact affect even the person burning Copper.
