  1. This might be my favorite chapter so far released. Adolin being the best boy, Kal getting some much needed relief, and Shallan's issues being discussed. I hope all goes well with Rock
  2. I'm certain they would, after all she had four broken limbs before she started drawing on them and they were healed instantly
  3. He's incapable of accepting that some things are beyond his control. Poor guy
  4. I think the main reason they ingest it is because it is more convenient. If you end burning too much of the piercing you might have the piercing fall out. As far as coating metals go, I'm fairly certain that won't work because burning works from the outside of the metal in. I'll have to look for it but Brandon has said that if you coat a metal with another metal it will burn off the coated metal before you can even touch the interior metal
  5. This is my thoughts as well. Maybe if it's an unkeyed metalmind it might have an effect. Otherwise I think the Investiture would pass through the metal like it does for an Allomancer who can't do Feruchemy
  6. Likely the same way he knows her name, they've clearly had conversations during the time skip.
  7. This is a good point. After all, Kal has fought and killed female Listeners way back in WoK. He never paused to think "this is a woman"
  8. Or alternatively, Kaladin just didn't notice the stubble or the malen body. Leshwi looks like Leshwi regardless of body with some variation depending on body. I myself am an example of someone who can shave one morning and by afternoon have stubble, in the hours of travel to and from it could have grown to a noticeable length by the time she returned to the city.
  9. Which is why I said clarification. I don't think that Duralumin and Bendalloy would work together all that well either. Normal Bendalloy flairs seem plenty good to me already as they are able to speed time enough to see bullets in the air, give time to make a plan during an explosion which is impressive because of just how fast explosions happen.
  10. This is the best response
  11. @Krox it would make sense if Leras guided them, after all the Terris were pretty knowledgeable about the true state of the world and metalminds require the same metals as Allomancy Also love the thought of having an actual metallurgist add their input
  12. A point of clarification, Duralumin does NOT burn away in a flash. There is a line from Vin in WoA where she thinks to herself that she still has Duralumin in her system after using it
  13. They would still need to know what steel is in order to produce it in the first place
  14. Likely they used the same or similar methods that the we used for it. Smelting iron and mixing it with ash and charcoal. Not the most effective methods for producing quality steel but it is a step up from iron
  15. Unfortunately even if it is a typo, elsewhere we do have confirmation of steel. This line is from when Taravangian is showing Dalinar the Half-shards
  16. There are references. The epigraph before this one indicates they know steel and im fairly certain there are other references as well
  17. They probably are augmenters, just that the metal making up the actual shield section is steel. My guess is that like with Allomancy, Fabrials need their metals to be at least close to Allomantic purity to work right. The problem with steel though is that "steel" is actually a very broad category of different alloy mixtures.
  18. It's weird that they wouldn't know steel because steel and iron are both referenced in the preceeding chapter. It would be even weirder to not know copper as unlike steel copper is a pure element. I'm wondering if specific gems are necessary and they just don't have the right gem and cut figured out for it. And I still think that cage shape plays a role too which might be a problem they are having.
  19. @Oltux72 the thing is, you are wrong here. We have a WoB earlier in this thread outright stating that Maya if she was alive would be willing to bond Adolin. That makes him Edgedancer material. Whether you like that or not is up to you but saying that he doesn't fit the Oaths is just wrong. My arguments have been ways to explain it, while yours have been to deny that fact. @Pathfinder what Kaladin needed was someone in authority to listen to him. I said before that Dalinar and Adolin were the only two outside of Bridge Four who did listen to him and even Dalinar was hesitant to believe him. Kaladin believed he was ignored, even by Dalinar, and Adolin was the first who told him that he believed Kaladin. I think it's important to remember that Adolin isn't broken like Radiants typically are and as such he likely lacks the experience needed to truly needs.
  20. I'm sorry but you are clearly missing the point of the Oath. Only two people of authority listened to what Kaladin had to say. Adolin and Dalinar, and even Dalinar didn't want to believe him. Kaladin was just dismissed as crazy and trying to smear Amaram by the king, that's not the same as listening to him. I've never once even implied that they were about Are you saying that Kaladin wasn't suffering? If someone stole your accomplishment and claimed it as their own, wouldn't you want someone to listen to you? The Oaths can be interpreted differently for each Radiant, take Szeth versus all of the other Skybreakers for example. Lift is only one point of reference for Edgedancers and Szeth has proven there is variation.
  21. The second Oath isn't about remembering. It's about listening to those who have been ignored. Which is what Adolin did with Kaladin as per my initial post
  22. The Thunderclasts to me are entirely different from Fused using Voidbinding. Thunderclasts seem more like the Midnight Essence to me, having powers based on the Ten Essences rather than Surges
  23. I'm sure that the reason he doesn't outright say it is because it's going to be directly revealed in Rhythms of War
  24. I wouldn't really call it more mature, but it most definitely focuses on more of the political, personal, and religious aspects than other Cosmere books. I find it one of my favorites and you get to know a lot more about Nightblood, Vasher (Zahel), and Vivenna (Azure). @StefanoYou can comfortably read Oathbringer before Warbreaker but you will get more out of Oathbringer by reading Warbreaker first. My suggestion is read Oathbringer then Warbreaker and if you have time reread Words of Radiance and Oathbringer sometime
  25. Kelsier needs a Connection to the Physical Realm. That was one of his biggest problems in Secret History. Of the Spikes we know of, Duralumin is the only one that logically makes sense to staple him to a body as it could Connect his Cognitive Shadow to a body.
