Shardsplinter

This week's epigraphs gave me the distinct impression that the author is a shin scholar that we might not know yet (but could feature heavily in Szeth flashbacks so it's not out of nowhere). They say the Wind spoke to them as a child wich doesn't match any of our main characters for whom scholar or historian match as descriptions. The mention of the two sources seems to refere to Kal and Szeth. Of course all of this could be turn 180 at any point since it's pretty early to speculate and we are talking about Sanderson but this is what makes the most sense for me right now.

I just cried sooo much. What a beautiful reminder of why this isn't just an amazing writer but an amazing human being worthy of having such a huge and kind fan base. Because we aren't just a fanbase...we are a true community of people who really don't want to leave any one looking from outside.

I agree with most of the points made about the fact that bringing back Mistborn might make them way too OP. In the OG trilogy anyone who wasn't Mistborn, Inquisitor, or a Full Feruchemist had very little chance in a fight. But by this time we will/might have: 1- Twinborn Compounders who are pretty much at the same level or above (steel is defenitively more OP like some said). 2- Medallions might actually make Compounding quite common. 3- Hemalurgy could become a common practice or at least used by a part of the population (giving people more abilities) -I'm mostly thinking of villains here but that could just be a bias- 4- Hemalurgy + Medallions might give some pretty powerful charachters that weren't necessarily metalbon. 5- If unkeyed metalminds become commonplace, the ferruchemichal disadvantage of having to invest (pun-intended) your time storing attributes might disappear as people begin to work storing them for you. In conclusion, this changes could change pretty drastically the power levels. Undoubtably, Mistborn will still be OP and since some of those changes actually benefit them too, they might become even more so. But TBH there are so many new ways of using your powers as a Mistborn (specially with the Era 2 newfound metals) that personally I'm super excited to have Mistborn back in the picture!!

Sooo after those very specific numbers on certain misogynistic scale, I am not proud to announce my very first TLM tinfoil theory: Wayne is totally joining the real 17thshard (we, that exist on planet Earth, are clearly the fake ones) after the events of this book. Fingers crossed this makes things workout with darling inmortal? Alsooooo wouldn't it be super cool if the offworlders in TLM were somehow our namesakes? I know they literally stand for non-intervention, but they have to intervene to stop intervention right? That totally makes sense and doesn't become a paradox at all! PS: Tinfoil hat off, I just want to Say I'm very excited for the Next months in the fandom. I first joined in 2020 during the Rhythm of Previews times and I love discussing a coming Cosmere book with my fellow Sanderfans. Looking forward to dissecting 2 episodes a week till' the big operation on November 15th. PS2: Feel free to WoB'd me that we won't know anything about the 17th Shard for a long time. Hi! Loving this Shardcast series. I'm doing my Lost Metal reread simultaneously and I really enjoy how you've been analyzing Era 1 books. New episodes are actually one of my weekly highlits. I've never been much of a Mistborn Era 2 fan and now, between how Cosmere awarew Wax & Wayne 4 seems to be and your SpanReads, I'm actually reaaally hyped for November! Anyway I hope it's not a problem to tag you @WeiryWriter but I'm very curious as to what is the Stormlight couple that might dethrone Vin & Elend?? No risk giving me spoilers, I'm up to date on everything Cosmere (I would like die if I were'nt lol).

Lift 3. Hrathen 2. Jasnah Kholin 1. Sazed PS: I could've talked forever about this charachter; but this was just enough to explain my order without going into too much detail, I think.

Well, I'm pretty sure a lot of people interpret Tinkerbell's charachter as in love or at least having a crush on Peter Pan in the original play/novel and maybe even in some of the more recent movies. Personally that's my headcanon but assuming fairies experience love in a different way that humans can't understand. In general I like it when non human beings have non human emotions but emotions nontheless and perfectly valid, just different. That gets me to the subject at matter. My first question would be, have we been shown spren engaging in romantic and/or sexual relations of any kind among themselfs? It would strike me as odd for them to do this only with humans. My second thought is that if they engage in any kind of relationship it's probably quite different from human relationships and almost all of them would experience feelings if at all, quite different from us. That being said, we have been told on several occasions that Honorspren are the ones that resemble humans the most and I think we have also seen them imitating human traits, so I think they're the most likely to engage in a humanlike relationship (possibly to a human) and to fall in love. Now, for the specifics of Syladin. Like I said, it's a possibility, but I don't think we have been given much foreshadowing. Their relationship strikes me more like that of siblings. They care deeply for each other, look out for one another and share a very strong literal Bond; but I don't see much romance going on and no sexual tension whatsoever. If Syladin were to happen I wouldn't be shocked but I don't think is likely and would actually prefer if it didn't. .....Howeeeeever when it comes to the ship, I think it's a great ship. It was pretty much unavoidable. Probability and possibility shouldn't be factors that prevent someone from shipping. If you enjoy it, Ship it! I also think it's important to be respectful of other people's ships ( as long as those ships are respectful of the charachters we all love) Wow that got rather long Tl;dr: 1- I would prefer if spren didn't have emotions/relationships in the same way humans do. 2- If one type had, it would probably be Honorspren. 3- Syladin romance strikes me as unlikely but not impossible. 4- I read Syladin more like siblings. 5- Despite that, it's a great ship. 6- If you enjoy it, Ship away!
