The change/transform command comes from dawnshard. The rest are speculation based on themes that the shards seem to fit

Right, I'm not saying that Odium himself is righteous but within the context of Adonalsium, the concepts that odium encompasses would be.

Winter started following Speculating on Era 3 , Let's make groups of 4 , Lashings on a Particulate and 2 others

I've got an order I like so far but am having trouble with the 4th and endowment The Command of Ideal Honor, Odium (as righteous anger as said in one of the letters), Ambition, wisdom/prudence (existence implied in WoB) The Command of Transformation Ruin, Preservation (as in knowing when to not transform), cultivation The Command of Will Dominion, Devotion, Autonomy The Command of Creation???? Endowment

Yes, intent and perception definitely matter. If you view the objects as a whole thing, it will lash all of them. When Szeth lashes a person to the ceiling in the prologue their clothes are lashed as well. He specifically notes that the clothes start to droop and then the person falls. If you fill a barrel with chickens you could lash them all as long as you intend to lash a single "barrel full of chickens". If you intend to lash a "barrel that happens to have a bunch of singular chickens in it" then it would only lash the barrel, though likely with the same effect.

How long did it take you to read all three books?

About a month each. I listen on my commute which is normally about 2-2 1/2 hours a day so 4-5 weeks of driving. Ends up being fewer if I have a side job in the summer or if I listen while cooking or something like that. -
Well if you like argent's old theory, he is making sure that he gets quite a lot of worship, if you know what I mean.

You bring up another interesting point, would the Heralds believe that Honor is God? Disillusionment with religion seems to be becoming a trope in Brandon's work with characters like Lightsong and Hrathen (a bit, not fully). It could be Hoid and Frost but that is only guess because it's the only character we know who was alive then and isn't a shard. Regardless of who it is, the metaphor is still a good one
-
Is this about the Heralds? Two men stand and contemplate the end of an era These could be jezrien and Kelek discussing the end of the Oathpact and the fate of Taln. They talk through the different methods of torture that he would have to endure and question if he can handle the burden they've placed on him. Perhaps Taln has always been the type of person to find the best part of a situation in order to stay strong. The final part, the days where the pain is less is his beauty is their final excuse that allows them to leave their blades behind. Obviously this can't be literal but it is an interesting metaphor.

This is a potential explanation for two metals but it doesn't hold up for other metals. Where would you store copper clouds for example? Additionally we see steel sight being treated as a sense but it seems more to be visual a representation of potential investiture. The sense being used is sight to see, with the exception of Inquisitors and I'm not sure we would ever get a satisfactory explanation for how they work. The Lord Ruler doesn't need reverse compounding. For one he was stronger than a Lerasium Mistborn, for two he likely has duralumin, for three he could compound nicrosil if he had access to it, for four he could have been a savant in every available metal at that point after being alive for 1000 years.
-
I think we will start to see modern problems solved with/exacerbated by Allomancy and Feruchemy. Healthcare could be an interesting one, the rich could hire gold compounders to create medallions for them so they never get sick while the poor struggle with affording to go to the doctor. On the other hand you could have high speed rail and air travel with the flying machine technology from BoM
-
That's fair. Like I said I don't know that we will ever see it in the books but it's been on my mind, if only because I would want iron Allomancy and iron compounding does not seem particularly useful
-
You would not store an individual push, rather the force of that push to be directed at the time of your choosing. The benefit is in the ability to tap feruchemical stores at exponential rates and in not needing to waste metal by burning excess away at the end of the night. Unless Brandon shows up in this thread I doubt we will find out. I appreciate the difference in opinion though, it helps to refine the thoughts.
-
Exactly, without the need to have any currently injested iron. You could then tap a little for small objects or to move only a little or as much as you want for TLR strength pulling.

As long we're going headcanon, I'm going with the "Hessina is Kharbranthian" theory with Lirin volunteering as tribute, I mean, champion. This makes Odium have to break either his agreement with Dalinar or his agreement with Mr. T (depending on your interpretation).
