  1. It might explain Wayne.
  2. If Calamity were in one of the Earth-Solar L4 or L5 zones, I'm not sure we could put design, build, launch and deliver a useful mission package to do a close observation in a mere 3 years. Flight time would be of the order of 180-270ish days from Leo.
  3. Paalm. Denth would need information he never had to have the remotest chance of hurting her with a sword.
  4. Which would make it slightly wierd the rains carry no crem during the weeping. Do we know the weeping happened before Honor died?
  5. Odium being Odius? IIRC The Adventure game mentioned Rogue Kandra that had forsworn the first contract.
  6. I got the impression that Shinovar had been moved lock stock and barrel from a more earthlike world.
  7. We also now have rather more evidence for all KR's and at least some squires being able to infuse and the knowledge that the Lightweavers don't have fixed oaths.
  8. Things that haven't been mentioned. Yen Press have a translation of the first volume of Mamare's Log Horizon. Which is a book about being sucked into an MMO that actually reads as if the author had experience of them. The translation seems better than the fan version. Liz William's Detective Chen Novels. The adventures and troubles of occult policemen in a cyberpunk future. Joshua Cole's The Fox who Stole Hong Kong. An Urban fantasy criminal caper.
  9. Aluminium is my thought as well. especially after considering the characteristics of the guards they used when sparring with shardblades.
  10. That doesn't feel like Sanderson's usual style. I'm expecting Taravangian to try starting a second Recreance in the next book or so.
  11. The second half of that is not implied by Brandon's statement. He says only they can't use the surges with out the blades and that they have other powers. We know there are powers and abilities that are fuelled by stormlight without being surges. Stormlight regeneration being one. It is entirely possible they have to be able to use stormlight or other investiture to continue to live like Returned do.
  12. Or that the understanding was in the past. Either due to being wrong or because the writer is distancing herself from making the claim directly due to the passage of time.
  13. Do you have a link to that one? I thought we had WoB they couldn't surgebind without Honorblades but they had other abilities implicit in being Heralds. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7267-words-of-brandon-compiled-x-2/#entry119917
  14. He may be able to do that due to being a Herald. Zahel appears to be able to infuse stormlight without having an Honorblade or a Nahel spren.
  15. "Water, 35 litres. Carbon, 20kg. Ammonia, 4 litres. Lime, 1.5kg. Phosperus, 800g. Salt, 250 g. Niter, 100g. Sulphur, 80g. Fluorine, 7.5g. Iron, 5g. Silicon 3g. And fifteen other elements. Those are the elements to make an average adult human body. You can buy these elemental ingredients at the market with the pocket money of a child. Humans are made so cheaply."
  16. The Steel Wires technique Lintence and Layfon use in Chrome Shelled Regios would seem to have potential. has Lintece (THe green Haired guy) using his weapon in that mode, I can't easily find a clip of the tiems Leyfon transforms his sword to do similar.
  17. Warning. I am in a Fey Mood. At Dalinar's advice, the Stormfather takes a vacation to somewhere he hasn't been to help with his depression. So he visits Scaladrial and encounters Wax, Wayne and Marsh and goes "I wonder if they will be friends with me?". So he does what he did to get his last two friends and starts downloading the Visions of the Death of Honor into their minds, with hilarious results. World Eater Space Marines. Complete with Angronium.
  18. Leras's Mist Ghost is already active and that is supposed to be the same sort of Cognitive Shadow as the Stormfather. Which suggests that we might get talking mist spirits as the end result of the shards of preservation. The timing doesn't fit for that. Odium's been trapped in Roshar's star system for millennia.
  19. I was thinking forging the gun out of old Inquisitor eyespikes, so they are invested. Of course IIRC we see metalminds and spikes affected with steelpushes.
  20. It means you can't assume Prof would notice that he'd just tried to gift David and failed, since he did that to Megan without noticing. Which means any noticeable drain in power has to still happen when trying to gift to an Epic. Which means we can't rule out Calamity having actually given David an Epic power despite his refusal so long as that power is some form of duplication effect. Not that the mechanism of Gifting doesn't seem to have changed between the two books. In Steelheart it was implied the ability stayed with someone until cancelled by the Gifter. In Firefight it seems to be a limited charge is transferred and when used up or you move out of range the ability is lost.
  21. I'm thinking A vial of pale sand. White Sand A couple of thick hairpins. Haemelurgic Spikes, I'm thinking from Koloss rather than Kandra Blessings or Inquistor spikes. A lock of golden hair. Royal Hair The branch of a tree with writing on it she couldn’t read. A silver knife. No Idea. An odd flower preserved in some kind of solution. That Flower whose discovery appears to be the precursor for BioChroma. That's the Tear of Edgli isn't it? That chunk of pale pink crystal looked like it might be some kind of gemstone, but why was it so delicate? Bits of it had flaked off in its case, as if simply setting it down had almost crushed it. Unhardened soul stone.
  22. I think he's Thayalen. He describes Iyatil as his babisk, which is a Thayalen term. Peter said something about that IIRC. He does have a collection of invested items from other worlds though. Iyatil on the other hand is confirmed to be a Worldhopper, I still wonder about why his name would appear to be pronounced very close to Rayse.
  23. Awaken Statues to change their pose. Soulforge diet food.
  24. Prof gifted to Megan before the series started and probably during Steelheart (She had been training in using the Tensors, even if she had problems making them work and had a shield jacket.) without noticing she wasn't properly receiving the gift, which implies gifting to an Epic (even if it doesn't work) doesn't noticeably feel different from gifting to a non Epic..
  25. If David's power is something like gains the abilities of other Epics for a period after being near them, we wouldn't be able to tell. Or has Phaedrus's ability set or the set of all the abilities he's ever been affected by.
