  1. I'm currently wondering if he or Zahel has awakened (or some stormlight equivalent) his Honorblade.
  2. One might expect her having access to the Surge of Transportation and Hoid to help with that even if she can't go FTL. She has experimented with partially transiting into Shadesmar for example.
  3. Taravangian, Amaran and the Storm Wardens all break it. And possibly Renarin. He inscribed a translation key, for the script he invented to cover his bedroom with the Diagram, on his bedside table. Which would require him to be able to write. Plus the whole written intelligence tests thing he does each morning.
  4. You were with heavy negative emotional shading asking if it was Honourable to send people into battle on mass. The religion of the people who worship Honor says it is. They believe that their warrior class should perfect their skills so they can zerg rush Braize at some point after they are dead, which makes them volunteers. Strength Before Weakness. One of the points of this series is that there is more than one path to honourable behaviour and they don't completely over lap...
  5. That isn't true. She wasn't able to tell that Mik and the others she'd healed hadn't been faking injury.
  6. It is the highest honour the Vorin Religon has. Those who fight best in life will become the Heralds' armies in the battles to reclaim the Tranquiline Halls.
  7. According to Khriss all but two of the planets had Humans before the Shards arrived on them. One of those two is Scadrial, which Khriss suspects of having been manufactured in toto by Ruin and Preservation.
  8. But that just means it could be that Honor's perpendicularity is currently attached to Lift. Who is nearer to the Cognitive realm and easier for spren to travel to than she should otherwise be.
  9. There was Obligator Yomen who told us that the Steel ministry were testing to find Atium Mistings well before the Lord Ruler died. And he should know since that's how he found out he was one.
  10. In the middle of a High Storm, so effectively infinite amounts of Stormlight are available. Verses Lift being very short.
  11. IIRC Bradon has said it is possible to have more than one Nahel bond simultaneously.
  12. We've never seen what surges Nightblood offers with a Nahel Bond either. Since we've never seen him anywhere one happens before he was given to Szeth.
  13. The concentrationspren that showed up while Lift was havign the scribes research?
  14. Wyndle implied that transfering from Shadesmar to bond with Lift was easier than expected. (Which presumably is compared with around the recreance) which might mean that the surge in the number of nahel bonds before a Desolation was due to it becoming easier for Spren to cross over as a side effect of whatever it is Odium does to initiate them. i.e, Ishar could be confusing correlation for causeation A shardhorse. Though I suspect it is usualy blade at 3rd Oath (i.e. what appears to be the second relating to the first principle, i.e protection and loving for Windrunners and Edgedancers respectively), armor at 5th (second of the second principle Leadership for Windrunners, Healing for Edgedancers). With qualifing for the first Oath being what Ryshadium look for in riders.
  15. Or he is actually in the process of becoming a Skybreaker. Or since he appears to have bonded with Nightblood and is leaving holographic echos behind, he has become the first and only member of the Evilstabbers
  16. I thought this issue was a soulweb crack thing like allomantic Snapping and ferruchemy's equivalent. So both neuroatypicality or traumatic life incidents.
  17. The description we have of use of the oathgates as a plural implies that they are 1-1 links to Urithiru since the merchant had to go via Urithiru to reach his destination rather than transfering from one capital to another directly. As does the fact there are 10 platforms at Urithiru rather than just 1.
  18. The Authour of the Ars Arcanum appears to believe there is a third more obscure group of ten magical effects and doesn't suggest that they are fabrials, which she regards as more prosaic. "My research suggests indeed there should be another set of abilities that is even more esoteric than the Voidbindings. Perhaps the Old Magic fits into those, though I am beginning to suspect that is someting entirely different" p1004-5 Way of Kings
  19. I'm currently assuming the process of healing a broken shardblade requires the blades' bonded wielder to become a Knight of the relevant order without bonding a spren. At least to the Oath after the one that unlocks having your spren become a shardblade for your order and possibly to the Fifth Oath in all cases. Since you need to replace what was lost in the Recreance. Which would mean Adolin would have to work through "I will remember those that are forgotten" and several other oaths on the way to being an Edgedancer as part of healing his blade.
  20. That isn't contradictory. He's the Spren of the memory of the God Talanvast. He's had thousands of years to come into existance before the splintering of Honor. People remembered Talanvast before he died. Actually it says he counts as a Cognitive Shadow (It doesn't say that other Spren can't be Cognitive Shadows or even that all spren aren't part of the class ofg entitites Khriss refers to as Cognitive Shadows.). Note IIRC we don't know that Kelsier's Cognitive Shadow status is directly linked to his Soul and Mind or is a function of having bonded with the Well or what he did after the Secret History. Saying something is a Cognitive shadow just says its a bit like a ghost. Like an Ikiryō Or like the way Spren and Seons are much the same but different. I think your assuming that being a Cognative Shadow means something is part of a single type of entity rather than a general class. Like we don't know that the Shades actually consist of a dead persons soul rather than being the impression of that soul on free floating Investature. The Stormfather's going to be confused anyway since mankinds view of Talanvast has changed somewhat since he died.
  21. The Stormfather claims to be the Spren of the memory of a God. Which doesn't require him to have Talanvast's soul or mind. He claims not to be Talanvast's Soul, which points to not all Cognitive Shadows being the origninals Soul and Mind. "I AM HIS ... SPREN, YOU MIGHT SAY. NOT HIS SOUL. I AM THE MEMORY MEN CREATE FOR HIM, NOW THAT HE IS GONE. THE PERSONIFICATION OF THE STORMS AND OF THE DIVINE. I AM NO GOD. I AM BUT A SHADOW OF ONE." Much as the idea people have of me on the internet doesn't actual contain my mind or soul, just impressions of them.
  22. I don't believe we know you need his cognitive shadow to reanimate his corpse. The Stormfather is mankinds idea of a god, which doesn't seem to be a necessary component for ressurrecting the man who was worn by the power of a shard of Adonalsium.
  23. In Chapter 88 of Words of Radience "The man who owned the Winds" there are only a limited number of characters who could fit the title. Shallan can be ruled out by being female. Pattern for being a spren. Nightblood for being a sword. Adolin for not having any wind related powers and a back story that rules out him out has having been someone else previously. Which pretty much leaves Mraize and Nalan. Nalan is the wrong herald to claim to ownthe winds, That would if it was refering to a Herald be Jezrien. Mraize on the other hand is covered with scars, mildly inscruitable and has no background other than Iyatil was his babsk and unlike any modern vorin character thinks of the Radients as staid and conventional. This is also the chapter where it is demonstrated that a dead body can be ressurrected if done fast enough. Put this together and one possibility is when Odium killed Honor, someone (say Nalan) ressurected Talanvast's body afterwards. Due to Talanvast having had his shard splintered it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to suffer stigmatic scars and some degree of amnesia (Based on the Secret History of Mistborn there is reason to suspect being the avatar of a shard strips ones mind down.) thus leaving him in a state that could use a mentor. Talanvast being a character who could have been said to have owned the winds since his cognitive shadow is the Stormfather. Which would explain the point where Hoid refers to Talanvast as if he were still alive by the reasons he used to rule him out as a god. This does of course mean I have reasons for thinking Mraize is either one of Rayse and Talanvast.
  24. And we find out Dalinar was wrong about that, and that it was him convincing her that he hated her that lead to her chosing Gavilar.
  25. Don't we have a WoB saying that Shardweapons can't have multiple parts? So no Shardcrossbows. That would also rule out chains and being two seperate Sabres.
