  1. It is not about the Stormfather. It is about the stability of what remains of Alethkar, and about not losing the credibility the Radiants gained and will need, lest they be considered blasphemers and heirs of traitors instead of a return to what the Radiants of old once stood for.
  2. And letting a family member get away with murdering a Highprince because he was a bastard anyway isn't going to make Alethkar any more united, nor it is going to help the Radiants keep the newfound legitimacy they gained after ending the War of Reckoning.A leader must be impartial and have the right priorities. Unfortunately for the Kholins, keeping your family together ranks very lower than keeping your nation from collapse.
  3. To imagine, to dream, to wonder, to create, those gifts are inherent to the human nature, and to tell a story is to share those things. But you don't need to tell a story to be an author, only create it, and even if no one can hear a symphony, the music still exists. To be an author is to carry your wonders and imagination with you, to live not only in reality, but in dreamland. I believe every person is an author. Everyone.
  4. What is the difference of a razorbinder, a razorbringer, and someone who passionately dislikes beards?
  5. You should edit your posts instead of making many in a short period, AnikoliNightmareVision.
  6. @Oversleep: I'd avoid to say "messed up" brain biochemestry. By saying that, you are (unintentionally, I hope) implying they are the problem and should just take medicine and go on with their lifes. Second, gender identity isn't just about gender norms and social spectations. While I am actualy new to the concept, and can't speak for certain, for some there is also the feeling of one's very body being somehow wrong. It is also mostly unrelated from sexual orientation. As for people identifying as something other than the "base" genders, I also can't say much. The concept of gender identity is new to me. But some people identify with both genders to varying degrees, either always or cycling between them, and some just don't feel like the concept of gender has any importance to their identities. Ps: I hope I got things right. I am nowhere near an expert in this field.
  7. Behind Blue Eyes, by The Who, for Adolin. Specially in WoR.
  8. I have ∅ years of age. And yes, that isn't a number.
  9. I don't know, I certainly wouldn't like to be Bobby. Forcing people to have better self esteem only makes everything worse, and faking optimism is very stressfull.
  10. He was also active on Roshar before, and probably multiple other worlds. Just because Yolen was the last world he touched, it doens't mean it was the first.
  11. The more the Church of Wayne involves itself with this thread, the less I like him.
  12. Voidbringers were also popularly know as evil spren.Although I prefer to think the Dawnsingers were not aimians, but Listeners with forms of power from Honor and Cultivation. It fits with the "singer" part, and maybe even the betrayal of spren, if H&C decided there was no need for dawnsingers after humanity adapted to living on Roshar, and let the spren chose who and what to bind to.
  13. But I don't feel genderfluid. My gender identity is mostly solid in one place, I just don't know where it is.And I know it is not exactly binary. I know my identity is probably somewhere close to the middle of the scale, but other than that I don't have an idea of where it is, and it doens't help that I have no one to talk about this IRL.
  14. So... I suppose I am ressurecting this thread? Truth to be told, I am quite lost when it comes to my gender identity, as I've come to question many things about myself lately and some are much harder than others to find a satisfying answer for. Currently, I think I am... how was it called? Demi-male? Yeah, maybe that. I don't really know. Maybe I am bigender instead, but I don't know, I only started to think about that recently. It is hard for me to know for sure, specially when I question every conclusion I arrive to and try to seek its origins, to make sure I am not deceiving myself. It is weird, this uncertain state. I am somewhat sure five or six months ago I would have answered "male" without hesitation, but I also didn't think that much about that before. Or maybe I just repressed my feminine side for a long time, since looking back I see some things I did and thought as a child that may be linked to my current questioning.
  15. I am seriously considering starting a Lopen Disapproval Thread. He has most of the things I dislike about Wayne and none of the redeeming features, being only a ridiculous comic relief source who is also a token minority character, and adds next to nothing in terms of advancing the plot, adding to worldbuilding or causing development on more interesting characters.
  16. No. New divide is Szeth all the way. But mostly his fight scene with Kaladin at the end of WoR. EDIT: Also, as a suggestion of my own, Speed The Collapse, by Metric for WoR.
  17. I agree that the Stormfather isn't cooperating with the Unmade. While he is as uncaring towards humans as he can be, he seemed truly regretful at being unable to stop Eshonai's transformation into Stormform.
  18. Both of those arthropodes look awesome(ly creepy)! I don't see how they would keep someone from living on Roshar. --says the guy studying Biological Sciences at college.
  19. Indeed, that also crossed my mind. The way Shin warriors willingly subject themselves to slavery, and Szeth's blind adderence to his punishment, always struck me as being in many ways the same as how TenSoon, and in fact most kandra of certain generations, behaved during missions.
  20. Not as strange as most fatalities, I suppose.
  21. Are you talking about the vision with the Midnight Essence? Because the Radiant in that vision used a regrowth fabrial.
  22. No. And I am unsure of what a "caucus" is, since american elections are rusting weird, but I have nothing against any cactus.
  23. They have mines. They must extract something from those mines, besides crem. Plus, mythical eternal islands? Those islands could have been created with the rest of the planet, since most of our information points towards it being anything but natural. And if we assume Roshar to be a natural planet, they could origined from the planet's early geological history, before its core solidified.
