  1. Maybe he doens't consider the listener forms a true magic system, much like the Stormfather's ability to call storms or kandra shapeshifting. That would mean voidbinding is probably a magic used by humans.
  2. Well, I disliked Endless Forms as an album because the melody and lyrics of the songs I heard didn't please me, although I suppose it is Toumas' fault. So I heard on Youtube Floor singing some of the earlier musics, and for some reason she felt out of synchrony with the music, singing with the wrong rhythm. I am still willing to give her a chance, since she only had one album with the band, which I probably would have been just as dispassionate about if Tarja was the one doing the singing, but for now I don't really liked her singing. Time will tell.
  3. Oh, I only read the books and remember little, but if my memory serves me well, I agree. I still stand by ny headcanon that Rashek stoped caring a few decades after his Ascension and would let the Inquisitors have their fun just because telling them not to would be to much work. Point taken.
  4. And where do you got the idea the Yolish made all the maps from? Nazh has his job for a reason, you know.
  5. But they had better results. Mostly because Snow was not a living god. TLR would have killed everyone if not for holy providence.
  6. Less shards, less investiture . Less investure, less reason for Khriss to care.
  7. I don't know, dark enough for it to be hard to tell dark purple and dark brown or green apart? That would be so dark distinguishing iris and pupil would be almost impossible. And dark eyes are also normal where I come from, but unless it is very dark I can see their brown color.
  8. I learned about this last week. After that, I came to the conclusion that while my initial impression that my calculus teacher was evil was wrong, my impression that she was a powerful witch wasn't.
  9. Please, it is not like they actually had someone better to use for propaganda. If a Kelsier like figure had been born on Panem the rebellion would have a much easier time.
  10. Roshar, the sole continent of Roshar, most invested planet of the Greater Roshar star system. At least that is the canon name.
  11. Just a note: the darkeyed people of Roshar probably don't have "normal" dark eyes. Their eyes are said to look black most of the time, only showing actual color under the right light. But that is much more likely to come from their weird genetics than from Odium, IMO.
  12. How, exactly? The Lord Ruler would have killed half of Luthadel without leaving his tower if it wasn't for the plots of things Kelsier never would have imagined to exist.
  13. That is why I don't skip Wayne chapters. But if he was the only PoV character on the current Mistborn Era, I'd probably give up on the series half way throught the first book.Yeah, I am a boring heartless robot with no sense of humor. Anything wrong? ps: actualy, I do have a sense of humor, if a weird one. It is just that I have some personal stuff that makes supposedly "funny" stuff drain my energy quickly if overdosed. And I don't really like any member of the current Mistborn cast, except Steris and maybe Marasi.
  14. For the same reason I often feel tempted to skip all Wayne chapters in the Wax&Wayne books. Not my kind of character at all.
  15. Lift? I guess I'll have to skip it then. I hope there isn't anything too important for the main SA books there.
  16. You are welcome. I wish I knew how to organize my story so easily. My PoV characters all have some seven or more years of story-worth backstory on average, not counting the ones too old or experienced to fit no matter when I started. This means I have quite the cast, but unfortunately only after those seven years they finally meet, and the actual time periods with interesting things vary a lot between characters, so I have no idea when to start the story. While I could do the "Stormlight Formula" and just do flashbacks, I feel afraid that not enough will come across if I don't make half of my chapters flashbacks. So, would it be overcomplicated if I made half of my chapters flashbacks, without said flashbacks being in chronological order? EDIT: @Oversleep: is that wind mage a character from your "main" story? If not, you could just make they unnaturally powerful, either throught sheer cosmic coincidence, forces beyond or mysterious and for now unexplainable reasons. I've found that allowing some overpowered softness into magic systems, if used with caution, can create interesting plot points.
  17. In the case of ancient fabrials like soulcasters, regrowth fabrials and oathgates, as far as we know they may work under completely different principles.
  18. There is proof against the shardblade training sheats being aluminum, because they are described as brittle and they change their shape to fit the shardblade. That is not any kind of aluminum I know, unless it is awakened. For me it sounds more like ancient fabrials.
  19. What I would like to see is a more "traditional" form of necromancy, instead of the one used in pop culture. You know, instead of megalomaniacal wizards raising undead armies, what about seers speaking with the shadows of the dead for guidance, warlocks calling vengeful ghosts to haunt those who wronged them or priests helping people make peace with the spirits of their ancestors. That kind of thing is very, very far from what Brandon writes, however, and wouldn't make good action scenes(somethimg I couldn't care less about, but is part of his style.). However, certain lines spoken with reverence by Nazh about rites and traditions being followed to become a shadow do imply that line of magic could have existed, or come to exist, in Threnody. I, for one, would like to see more sapient ghosts besides the Survivor of Death.
  20. Why not all three of them, at different points in the story? The second sounds like a nice plot twist for the first, and could turn a multiverse cold war into a true war, while the third would basically be the in-between point, that made the PoV universe look vulnerable enough for the "Reaping" universe to finally strike.
  21. Even then, taking the stormlight away to stop an object lashed towards him would only work for very short distances, because of acceleration.
  22. We have no idea how lashings from different surgebinders interact. I personally think he couldn't, but could try to lash them back if he was fast enough, something that wouldn't be nearly as effective as trying to dodge however.
  23. No, but he would be able to lash everything around both of them. Like, what he already did to kill shardbearers.
  24. I'd say Kaladin is a better fighter without investiture, or at least without lashings, since Kaladin with stormlight does much more impressive feats with his weapon than Szeth with stormlight. HOWEVER, by that same logic Szeth is much, much more proficient than Kaladin with lashings, and would have won if the fight was taking place somewhere other than open air.
