Hell no!!! What happened here?! I don't even want to think about the worst option… I must burn a prayer for the Kholin brothers right now 'cause I can't accept the death of either of them. Let's just hope this is not the reality or actually there's something else going on…

Or, you know, embracing family in the wake of a disaster. You know,

"Well, this is the apocalypse. Give me a hug, son. This is the big one."

Is that why Dalinar is kneeling? :D I like the thoughts in this thread that Adolin/Renarin aren't dead, but when Dalinar is kneeling...

Maybe this is the biggest plot twist of all. Teft is Dalinar's secret first son whose existence got erased from his memory and he regains his memory just as Teft is killed by the Parshendi in their artificial highstorm.

I think this is the scene. It's an attack by an assassin or a chasmfiend. Kaladin is on break so Moash or Skar is guarding Dalinar and sons. Lots of people are dying, so Renarin opens up a can of kick butt Skybreaker surges and then faints like Kaladin did.

That scene would be so awesome and scary at the same time. If this is what happens, I just hope Renarin survives and the members of Bridge 4 know how to help him. I doubt Kaladin will be there, because he would use his powers before Renarin had a chance.

For all we know he could be injured or their Shardplate got damaged in battle and Stormform is just kicking off.

Now im over the initial shock it seems i might have been hasty in my 'one of them is dead conclusion.'

This is what i mean by Tor enjoying trolling us. I don't think either of them is dead yet, 'Renarin can see a spren nobody else can' makes me think he has at least a little more essential to the plot than what we have seen and Adolin i cant picture him dying yet at least this early in the series.

I only got Glimpse #6 - #11 what were the other Glimpses?

Fixed for You ;)

This is becoming torturous!

Eyes, Hands or Spheres ...  (things i'd trade to have my copy of the book right now)

Here you go:

#1

"Thirty-eight days," Renarin read. "The end of all nations."

#2

She felt and heard the storm approach. The ground shook, the air roared. Bits of leaves swept across her in a chill gust, like scouts before an oncoming army that charged behind, the howling wind its battle cry.

#3

In places, it flashed with light from behind, revealing movement and shadows within. Like the skeleton of a hand when light illuminated the flesh, there was something inside that wall of destruction.

#4

Of fires that burned and yet they were gone. Of heat he could feel when others felt not. Of screams his own that nobody heard. Of torture sublime, for life it meant.

#5

Have you given up on the gemstone, now that it is dead? And do you no longer hide behind the name of your old master?

I don't know... All the beta reviews have a shocking moment that we don't know much about, but I don't think this glimpse refers to that. It may just be my inability to accept the death of a Kholin, but I don't think that Peter would have allowed a spoiler like that through. There's got to be enough going on here that we don't know to keep this from revealing any of the plot to us.

I know it was already handled, but for anyone who doesn't feel like reading 21 pages and is just joining us now, r/stormlight_archive has the full list of Glimpses here.

But Moash is young enough that Renarin and Adolin might remember him, plus

it is pretty much guaranteed that Teft dies, look at the reaction to WoR on Tor

Excellent idea. I was thinking we should periodically post a complete listing of the glimpses, but that link is so much easier. ;)

I disagree.

She felt sad for Teft, but I think Teft has a very sad story to tell. I don't think it is guaranteed that Teft dies.

Edit: sorry for the double post.

You seem to imply that there's only one shocking moment in the book. :)

It suddenly strikes me that the chances of Shallarin being a thing have increased dramatically. If Adolin is gone...

I mean, I'm not suggesting Adolin should die just so Shallan and Renarin can get together, but there's always a silver lining.

Not suggesting... just pointing out. Huh I see what you have done there ;)

I personally don't think that  Sanderson will Kill 3 Kholin in this book. (Jasnah and Dalinar are i my death list).

If he kill Adolin and Renarin that would be little bit to much to me.

And don't forget Elhokar him, after Dalinar, are one of the character whose death would move the plot more, what put him in good position to die in this book too =)

Even Martin didn't Kill 3 Starks in a book = )

Don't worry about it, Adolin just broke his toe, fell, and nocked himself unconscious.

So, his epitaph would be something like 'Adolin was usually more graceful'?

I keep trying to interpret this as some kind of Alethi wedding ceremony, to make the quote as misleading as possible. But the sky just doesn't work with it.

My first thought was "Oh my god, Adolin or Renarin dies! :o  :( , shortly followed by "Wait, they wouldn't put such a spoilery thing in these. :D " Of course, then there's the argument that they would know we'd think that, and one of the Kholins could actually be dead... I have a tendency to overthink things. I do like the idea of Renarin passing out after doing awesome Skybreaker things, though.
