  1. It cuts the soul. I don't think it does harm the cognitive. The cognitive does need the spiritual to survive though.
  2. http://screencast.com/t/bskIGAznKA Oops, theres the link to a trace of the face on the map. Had this already been found before?
  3. Except that the hornet doesn't have a physical sting
  4. I thought of that but then I noticed that the Southern depths on Roshar were Mountains in the Shadesmar Anybody else seeing the beasty face? http://screencast.com/t/Az9B0fGeD3vN look for a face like this http://screencast.com/t/YMFHfiTr http://screencast.com/t/zejVE7M4nLHe this one looks like a city. you can almost see the spires and the stair case Look for a city like this, http://screencast.com/t/Cgb89ZDJ01 Here something interesting and probably totally irrelevant. You know the painting called The Creation of Adam on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel? The shape of the sea in The Shadesmar looks quite a bit like the shape and arrangement of the people in the painting. Put the hand right about here and I can kind of see the two matching up. http://screencast.com/t/mGQcM4vz9yyK Or maybe I'm just going crazy Brandon's books have a tendency to do that to me
  5. Its actually a bit more then horneater legend...... There are other sources as well. if you have read his unpublished works you will know what I' m talking about
  6. oops, I guess we don't know that it can be completely reformed. However what Sazed did has got to be a start
  7. Remember, the shape is important. Sanderson was very specific with what shape he wanted it to be. First of all did anyone notice that the Sea of lost souls in the Shadesmar is Alethkar inn Roshar? Isn't Roshar where the Recreance occured? I think that belief has A LOT to do with it. We have seen belief throughout this series time and time again. I also think that the Purelake being mountains in the Shadesmar is important. Not all water gets to be mountains.
  8. You won't see Hoid fighting anybody. Not directly at least. He can't hurt anybody
  9. Since Adonalsium can be reformed by having one person absorb each shard. I bet the shard Honor be reformed by having one person bond with each type of spren?
  10. This is basically one giant spoiler. Sorry if I get off track a little bit. What do you guys think?
  11. Ug, I hope he doesn't become a squire. Or, I hope he is never called a squire. For some reason the name squire brings to mind pictures of little over eager children with poofy pants and leggings. Not sure why...
  12. As said by Darkness, I think that as long as the brain isn't dead, the body an be restored. Which one is more remarkable. healing the soul or the Heart. It was fairly obvious that she was going to come back. I called it a while before I read the Epilogue. Rather then looking at the story, just look at the plot structure. Jasnah died at the very beginning of the book and very abruptly. If you look at the plot, it makes beautiful sense that Brandon would finish the book with Jasnah coming back. This wraps the book up very nicely. it ties the begginning to the end at the same time leading the reader onward to the next book. It is pretty rare for an author to kill a character as important as Jasnah at the beginning of a book at the beginning of a series. It doesn't serve much purpose doing it that way Ah, correction. Lopen grew a stub. ;D Where we left off he still had some glowing to do. You never know, he might end up growing another leg.
  13. If someone can explain how to attach a video, if at all possible, I can post a video of Brandon Sanderson learning the flute.
  14. I think that Hoid is looking for someone. He was looking for a reaction in Dalinar's face when he said, Adonalsium. Who is he looking for? Why is he looking? The fact that he is looking means that there is someone who has heard the term and understands what it means. The fact that he is willing to reveal what he knows to them by asking means they are probably a potential ally. My guess is that the one he is looking for is Zahel
  15. I was actually wondering if the unpublished work in mind was still completely relevant. apparently it is
  16. I see a pattern. After reading part of Words of Radiance, some of the information I got really isn't surprising. Especially with Kaladin being as awesome as he is
  17. Okay, here is some information I got from the signing. Q: Can Shardblades kill spren? A: theoretically, yes There were several things inspired this next question. One of which was a line in WoK. This is Wit speaking to Dalinar. “I’ll come back if I’m not killed. Probably will anyway Q: If Hoid got beheaded, would his body grow a new head? A: yes Q: what if Hoid got cut by a shard blade? A: The Shardblade cuts the soul and what Hoid does heals the soul Q: Does Dalinar have Surgebinding abilities? A: RAFO (Duh, I should’ve known that was coming.) I'm pretty sure he is the bondsmith mentioned on the back of the book. Q: Belief has had a lot to do with the Cosmere. (for example in Warbreaker. The appearances of the Returned had a lot to do with belief) Will Belief have a big part to play in The Stormlight archive? A: It already has. The two scholars measuring the spren. Oh, and someone needs to teach Brandon how to throw cards. He tried with the RAFO cards. By the way, Brandon also read a hilarious chapter during which Shallan steals Kaladins Boots. firstrainbowrose, How long have you known about, I Am Offend! I don't think your profile picture is a coincidence. Any new theories or speculation?
  18. I want to know if Shardblades can kill spren. Has that question been asked yet?
  19. What kind of Radiant will Ym be? Unfortunately, probably a dead one. Darkness seems to be a very thorough character. He caught Lift and she seemed to be much more adept at using her powers than Ym
  20. I want to go back to this glimpse for just a bit. Maybe the quote is literal. It sounds a lot like what Jasnah was seeing. She saw Shadows before going to the shadesmar. To me this sounds like Lopen telling the crew a jovial story. Maybe he is telling them what he would tell the king in order to impress him. I doubt Lopen is a surgbinder.
  21. I have met him once and planning on going to the midnight signing! I joined the shard in October.
  22. I think that the magic system in the Stormlight Archives might have an interesting parallel to Mistborn. In Mistborn.. Perhaps there is a certain method used to bond with spren that allows Odium to take control of those who used that method. (Words of Radiance spoilers) Thoughts?
  23. Along the lines of this fairness topic.... Surgebinding / Voidbinding Ten Heralds / Ten Fools Knights radiant / thunder clasts (or maybe the Parshendi in a form that gives Odium control)
