  1. That's true, this discussion is probably out of place in the WoR forum. Perhaps it should be moved. Still, I think this is an interesting topic. I always assumed Dalinar's wife was dead for some reason. Is that a known fact? Perhaps his wife died as part of the curse
  2. What do you guys think about this? Who do you think his wife was. Do we know if his forgotten wife is actually dead?
  3. Maybe Dalinar's Wife wasn't the only one who was forgotten. Long lost son?
  4. Nobody has brought up a spren death yet. Sanderson likes to give a good surprise. It one of the few deaths that nobody seems to expect.Killing a spren would be a big shock for a lot of people. Especially if the spren were Syl.... I would be miserable if Syl died
  5. There will be a formal duel after Kaladin's surgebinding abilities are revealed. Kaladin will have Windrunner abilities and Amaram will have a shardblade. They both will be given plate for safety reasons. Kaladin will be getting beat up while in the plate and will decide to take it off during the duel. Although this makes it so he can surgebind, if he dies nobody will blame Amaram. It would be Kaladins own fault for taking the armor off. This gives Amaram a chance to destroy the one who can undermine his power and creates a tense life or death situation. Kaladin starts using his surgbinding abilities and woops Amaram's shardplated rear end. However after the beating he took while wearing the plate. it takes extra effort. Its a big stretch but I think it would be pretty cool
  6. This has an interesting parallel to one of Sanderson's unpublished works. I think that Shallan doesn't remember what happened. She probably thinks her father was the murderer when in reality it was her that did the killing. It's possible that what happened was so horrible that her mind shut out the details
  7. I don't think so.
  8. I was saying that since Dalinar usually doesn't attend the Chasm runs, it would be prim time to attack. Dalinar's army would be gone and Dalinar himself would be in his rooms
  9. I'd say follow Shivs advice. I do much the same when working on Magic systems and it has worked well for me. I build the society around the Magic system. Since the magic usually is a natural element of the world, it usually comes before society does. This always made a lot of sense to me since in the world this is how it would actually happen .... Unless you had a magic system caused by society Since you don't seem to need/want the Idea I posted earlier, and since you already have a brilliant Idea, I'm going to steal my idea back.
  10. It's just a guess. I'll admit it doesn't quite make sense since that wasn't included in Szeths orders. I might be someone warning Dalinar that Szeth is coming
  11. Although, he didn't have much trouble infiltrating and writing on Dalinar's wall
  12. Perfect, now all of Kholin's soldiers are gone. Maybe Dalinar will try to negotiate with Szeth. That could have an interesting turn. I doubt the negotiation would work though. That would be anti climatic
  13. Perhaps the Radiants themselves didn't know. Or they were trying to keep it secret There are almost definitely going to be shardspears in the future books. The question is, how do you get one?
  14. We don't know much about the Radiants. They may have had diverse weapons. Shardblades were probably just more efficient when killing thunderclasts. Besides, I think it has something to do with belief. Nobody believes that you can change your shard weapons. I'm pretty sure a main theme in the book is going to be about belief and illusion
  15. "Unite them" We have been thinking that means to unite Roshar. Maybe it means Unite the Shards. In other words, Restoring Adonalsium
  16. Bridge Four haven't trained against those YET. I think that as long as Bridge four at least knows about Surgebinding they will be able to anticipate Szeth at least a little bit.
  17. If anyone gets a dungspren it will be Rock. Then he can truly master the art of sticking dung in food. The Dung surge!
  18. I don't think that Szeth has access to all the surges. He isn't bonded to a spren and I think that has its draw backs. Also, I think Kaladin is going to figure out that there is a surge binder after Dalinar. Szeth doesn't even know who Kaladin is. Usually, Szeth has the element of suprise. This time Kaladin will be expecting many of Szeths tricks Gavilar, a simple shardbearer, was able to give Szeth some trouble. I think Adolin will at least be a nuisance.
  19. Here's a theory. What if something about the user who summons the blade determines whether it will be a shard blade or spear. Or perhaps the way you summon the weapon. I think we can agree that the shard weapons have a distinct presence in a realm beside physical. I think there might be a way to change the weapon during the transition from one realm to another. Maybe this is an ability that those bonded with spren have. Maybe the Radiants could choose how their shard weapons were made manifest in the physical realm
  20. It's just jing. I don't know why it wouldn't work.
  21. Stormblessed! http://screencast.com/t/TsnNDudLdS http://screencast.com/t/hos6KvwjiEeg
  22. There are a lot of glitches in the video, unfortunately. It took forever trying to get the controls to work right
  23. It should work now
  24. This is a little video of a game I made with Parshendi and bridgmen. Its pretty funny. If your wondering why the Parshendi is trailing what looks like smoke, Its the tracers on the arrows. I wanted them to be more visible. If your also wondering why the Parshendi has one bow with eight arrows, well.... I'm just going to say that the game is far from perfect. Still, the video is pretty funny. http://screencast.com/t/RJxZ29Vk0Ep
  25. I was actually thinking about this when you posted the topic. I'm not sure if Szeth would know or not. It isn't like he has had personal experience and I doubt he would be willing to test the theory.
