  1. Can't say I do. One of the most original ways to anounce the fact that you win is: I win.
  2. Seeing that this stranger wasn't a threat, Taz relaxed just a bit. He still eyed the man warily.
  3. Outside the tavern, an army of yetis appeared.
  4. Ok, thanks. This'll be fun to deal with.
  5. Jorel looked affronted at this. "Listen kid," he said, "I don't follow any law other than money. If someone pays me to be a terrorist, or do something that requires me to take a little leverage, then a terrorist I'll be. If someone pays me to be a hero, or stop a terrorist, then a hero I'll be. I don't blow stuff up for some religious or patriotic cause, I blow stuff up because I'm paid to. A lot less grudges and hard feelings happen that way." He wandered down to the quartermaster's office, and began to barter a price. After about a half-hour of lying, cheating, threatening, and scamming, he finally got a satisfactory price. About ten times his old one. The discrepancy might be found out, but a deals a deal. He sauntered back up, feeling very proud of himself, and found the briefing room again. He mentally called his ship to the docking bay. He addressed Yera, "Do I get to bring my own ship, or is this a one-ship thing. What even is the expedition?" @I think I am here. @Dr. Dapper
  6. Algorath had stayed quite during the exchange. He piped up, speaking to the old man, "Before you showed up and asked us for help, I was just another Apex. Rumors are a powerful thing. They changed me from a murderer to a savior." He addressed the rest of the group, "If everyone could forget about it and not worry, then it would disappear. The one world where you can make your problems go away by not facing them." He chuckled wryly, "But since everyone is, then we have no choice but to also. Fear is only natural, but how we use that fear is up to us."
  7. Algorath followed Mutig at a sprint. Ever since he had accidentally saved that farmer, the rumors had forced him to do things like this. Inside he was chiding himself. His claws slashed through the dark shadow, and it turned on him. He growled, recognizing a challenge.
  8. Stormbreaker noticed the action and grimaced. The metallic arts were far too complicated. He returned to camp, and started to give orders to clear out. ——— "Well that's wrong," the elite said. Stormbreaker nodded, that about summed it up. It was a confusing situation. He and the army had ridden all day to camp closer to the yetis, maybe test the waters a little. One problem. In order to attack a yeti tribe, said tribe had to be present to take the attacking. And this one wasn't. "I don't get it," the elite was saying, "When I scouted them, they were right here. Pretty astablished too." Stormbreaker regarded the empty landscape. "The largest tribe of yetis on the island doesn't just up and disappear. Especially without leaving a trace. The snow is spotless." Another elite nodded his agreement, "Except for over there where Jerry decided to take a––" "We need to find this tribe," Stormbreaker said, cutting him off, "The only way such a thing could happen is through some sort of teleportation." Suddenly, a portal opened. There was no other way to explain it. It encompassed everything, consumed the mens' entire vision, and made the breathtaking landscape around them fade. It was a rip in the air, shredding space, time, and the spiritweb of the planet itself. Each man in the army was so overwhelmed by the majesty and terrible chaotic destruction before them. Luckily, Stormbreaker's highly trained and investiture reinforced mind was able to retain it's wits. With extreme intensity, he gave the order to charge, and his army ran full-tilt into the portal. ——— Stormbreaker looked around in confusion. Where were they? It seemed as though this was some sort of tavern...
  9. A dark figure emerged from the shadows. He was large, and possessed three arms. "Hey there friend, it seems as though you're in need of DA assistance." He pulled out the third arm, it seemed to have an assortment of spikes at the end. "Here at insta-limb, we deal with all of your handy needs." With that, he lept upon Frob, forcibly pounding the arm onto Frob's body. Three of them were pewter spikes, which gave him gold feruchemy, and two were gold unkeyed metalminds. The soul of the man whose arm it had previously belonged to imposed it's will upon Frob, so Frob saw the arm as a part of himself. The arm attached seamlessly, with just the spikes ringing it to mark it out. The man stood back, and contemplated his work. "A little long," he muttered, "I always get that part wrong." Then he said cheerfully, "Better too long that too short though!" And he melted back into the shadows. @Gancho Libre
  10. *Random status update that makes everyone rush to my profile page in fear/happiness depending*

  11. I don't sign in. My account is a cognitive shadow designed for your amusement. Of course, there was the two accounts fiasco a while back, so mods have probably already checked my location.
  12. Algorath smelled a strange scent, but then disregarded it. He followed the group into the tunnels, shadows lengthening around them.
  13. Ah. Yeah I thought that you were in the alley with us so I tried to trap you in the attack as well. Sorry 'bout that.
  14. Stormbreaker gave a start as a random person hit the ground next to him. "Hey," he said, as if nothing had just happened. Stormbreaker hid his surprise by quickly extending his hand to help the man up. From his clothing, it looked as if the man was a Canton leader as well as a member of the crusade. Odd. "Hello, where exactly did you come from?" Stormbreaker asked. @Nohadon
  15. The precursors then argued back that this building technically didn't exist until the government itself was formed, and since government-owned and city-owned buildings were synonymous, this was technically city property. The one on the right said that he cared about DA ownership as far as a swallow could haul a coconut. This set off a small debate when his partner asked if that was an African or European swallow, and they argued the entire way to the jail. The denizen was glad to be behind bars after the journey.
  16. Stormbreaker gave orders to round up the elites and head back to the base camp. They would be setting in for a long hard campaign.
  17. Jorel smiled, "So you do know how mercenaries work." He lowered the gun. He was more valuable to them alive and working to repay this than dead or in prison now. Still, it didn't hurt to use caution, so he kept a small explosive loaded in his mini-launcher. "My previous employer was paying me 2,000 credits a day with 10,000 when I caught him." He smiled, "Plus funeral costs." @Dr. Dapper
  18. Algorath strode beside Mutig. He overheard his little talk with the young man, Karl, and shook his head. It often wasn't that simple. Kids who had been part of a gang didn't just leave. They usually weren't trusted for work, making them turn back to crime. Often they didn't want to leave all they had known, striking out for the unknown. Sometimes they were addicted to a substance that they could only get in the slums. There were various reasons, but one didn't just "leave".
  19. What I was intending with the attack was for it to surround us all. Even though the plan was for us to split, I decided to throw all of us in to make it interesting. Which is why I thought it was being rolled back when Kenod and Sorana acted as it had never happened. Maybe I should stop making major plot adjustments...
  20. Keleth raised his voice. "It appears good sir, that you've made a bit of a mistake. It was us, the Diagramists, who were attacked. The Black Crusade did come to out aid, but I believe most of your points should be addressed to me." He went on, "However, this specification doesn't really matter as all of your points still apply. You mistake our motives. Coming to the government wasn't a means of crying for help through legal means. The government was just a tool to get what we wanted, to put it simply." He stood up slowly, and faced the Ghostblood representative, "You could say that our revenge wasn't legal, but you could also point out that it wasn't necessarily illegal either. The set of laws that I've proposed would make an unjustified war illegal, but since they haven't been voted on, it isn't. In fact, no laws have technically been voted on except for those regarding hemalurgy, so nothing is really illegal. All it comes down to right now is the opinions of the representatives." He turned back to the Keeper lady and said, "Stormbreaker has decided to accept your terms, under certain circumstances." @Ark1002 @I think I am here.
  21. I thought so because people have been acting like it hasn't happened. I just thought I'd fix it. Maybe I should've consulted this thread.
  22. Why thank you. There's plenty more where that came from .
