  1. Hello Zach. Take an upvote to get you started. Now a little advice about the shard: General Discussion is a great place to get started, and General Cosmere Discussion is a great place to talk about the Cosmere. As Jofwu said, stay away from subforums on books you haven't read, as spoilers abound. The Alleyverse is a great place if you like role-playing. And The Last Post Wins is a great place to talk. I would stay away from The Longest Thread if I were you (there's a little bit of a war going on between TLPW and TLT, and I started TLPW). Also, take a cookie for your trouble, courtesy of the Dark Alley .
  2. Oh dear. To get slapped on the wrist about cookie wars, only to start wars about The Longest Thread (TLT) vs. The Last Post Wins (TLPW). By the way, would you like a cookie, courtesy of the Dark Alley?
  3. Galvris watched the two go off to the supermarket, and entertained himself in making miniature armies in Tel'aran'rhiod, then having them fight each other. "I'm also from Earth," he piped into, "The reckonerverse. And Randland. It's complicated." He composed himself for a long speech, then realized that they'd probably sleep through it. So he simply said, "I came because the alleyverse needs your help." He paused, maybe he would say a little more, "The forge can fix things. They can help people. Probably the only installation in Alleycity that does. You should get to work, getting victims off of the streets. Get people out of the city. There's a war brewing, and nobody unaffiliated with the guilds should be caught in it. I plan to make it happen. But I need you." @Sorana @Turtle373
  4. "I'll tell you exactly what's wrong with TLT," Vargo growled, "It's competition!"
  5. Darkness twisted as the knife came in. It grazed his side, drawing blood. He grunted, then began a blinding flurry of stabs and slashes at his opponent. As he attacked, he began tapping his reserve of kinetic energy, making his attacks much faster and much more powerful. @Turtle373
  6. Unbeknownst to the cheering crowd, a dark figure had been watching from the rooftops. He had arrived just in time to see the last portion of the fight, though he knew not what had caused it. He had seen one combatant flee, and the other—a shade, apparently—wave to the crowd. He thought it was finally time to make an appearance. He stepped out onto the rooftop, and filled himself with the pure life of saiden. Earth and fire were the strengths of a man, though this particular one wasn't lacking in any other talents. He breathed in the air, noting each and every crisp quality it had. Siaden gave a man power, life, clarity, and the thrill of battle. Filling himself with it's bittersweet power, he channeled powerful flows of Earth into the ground. A large column of Earth rose into the air, reaching up to the building that the man was standing on. He nonchalantly stepped off onto the column, making an extremely dramatic stairway for himself down to the ground. He walked down as if he had all the time in the world, columns crashing back to Earth as he stepped off. But in truth, the strain of holding that much power was incredible. He was fighting a raging battle inside of himself. The relief may not have been plain on his face when he stepped off, but it was there nonetheless. He walked forwards and held out a hand to the pancake lady. From this angle, one could see that he was incredibly... short. Still, he held himself in such a position of strength that one couldn't help but feel dominated by him. He held out a hand and introduced himself, "I, am Lord Moerevron. Or just Galvris. You should probably just call me Galvris." He suddenly looked quite abashed. He looked around and asked, "Where's Loanin? Alask? What happened to Nekorb?" He shook his head, "It's been too long since I've been here." @Sorana
  7. Vargo growled, throwing the ship into non-spam mode. "Nothing's ever easy in The Longest Thread. The Longest Thread is evil and should never be mentioned. Hopefully, in non-spam mode, we can distract them."
  8. Why hello Beth. Welcome to the shard! And while I don't post much in the forum common or listen to Shardcast all that much (sorry Argent), I do have an some interesting places here to suggest. A great place to start is in General Brandon Discussion, or if you're into the Cosmere, General Cosmere Discussion. If you haven't read Oathbringer, I'd avoid the Stormlight Archives subforum, as it is rife with spoilers. If you like role-playing, I can suggest the Alleyverse (link in my sig). A great place to hang out is The Last Post Wins (link also in my sig), and whatever you do, avoid The Longest Thread at all costs. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy your time here! P.S. Love your title. So clever .
  9. Well. It looks as if Galvris passes, per community approval. Does this mean that I can begin to RP with him @Voidus?
  10. Vargo looked around wildly, a feral look in his eyes. He whispered to the rest of the crew on board, "They've found us..." Suddenly, a group of maneuverable space pirates appeared on their tale. Vargo rushed to the bridge, sending out the call to man battle stations and send the ship into evasive maneuvers. Speaking through the intercom, he shouted, "RED ALERT, THE MODERATORS HAVE FOUND US. PROTECT THE THREAD."
  11. Algorath stepped back, shocked, as Karl was torn to pieces by his own body. He'd almost killed the boy earlier, but hadn't. He needed help, not another enemy. He turned away as someone who looked as if they knew what they were doing knelt over the boy. He could sense his pack getting restless. He turned to Mutig, "We need to use what he knows. If the heir is someone who the creature will hurt, than it needs protecting. If it's somebody it can use or is allied with, than we need to kill it. There are too many questions. Who is this heir? What's his relation to the creature? Where is he? What must be done? Karl needs to survive to answer."
  12. Darkness walked forwards with Zan, Seom, and Wes. Seom began screaming, and Darkness spun quickly. Only to find two knives on their way towards his heart. Zan. Surprised, he sapped the kinetic energy from the knives as they hit, and they hung in the air, void of all energy. Once he moved away, they clattered to the ground, their energy having gone to him. Zan was incompetent at best. He'd had to pull Zan out of death more than once during the assassination attempt. If Darkness was being honest with himself, it would be better if Zan was off the team. Or dead. And now he had the nerve to try and attack him? Darkness shouted, enraged, and drew two thick fighting daggers. He charged at Zan, swinging the weapons with expert precision at his heart. @Sherlock Holmes @I think I am here. @Turtle373
  13. Vargo shook his head. What was going on here anyway? He didn't want to be around when the memes started.
  14. Darkness looked back. "To that large foreboding building in the distance," he said, pointing towards Plasmacore.
  15. Algorath shook his head. "We will never find a way as long as this thing is alive. If there are more of him..." he trailed off. "That thing could kill everyone and everything in this city without blinking," he continued, "the only thing that would give it pause are all of the magical beings here." He began to pace, "If we were able to gather them all, we might be able to put up a good fight. On their own, however, they're vulnerable. They'll fall one by one, until there are none left." He stood taller, resolve strengthening, "If we gather them all, organize them, nobody needs to die helpless." @Chasmfiend#1 @Sorana
  16. Darkness raised his eyebrow as Mike ran off. "Some girl," he muttered. To the rest of them, he said, "Well, I'm forcibly taking command now. Wes, Zan, cover me right and left flanks. Seom, hang back to heal us if we get injured. It's time to go in." He ran forwards, killing a guard with a punch to the throat on his way. @I think I am here. @Turtle373 @Sherlock Holmes
  17. Algorath nodded. "Yes, going into the Fens alone is not a good idea. I, however, have my pack with me." At Karl's words, he spun on the boy. He leaned over saying, "Found what? What did he find?"
  18. A man that looked remarkably like Kevin Bacon jumped into the center of the room. "LETS DANCE!!!!" He yelled excitedly.
  19. Darkness grinned. He ran for the building, but in slow motion. Not only did it look epic, but it stored small amounts of kinetic energy as well. Like an astronaut walking towards his shuttle, but running. He then broke out into normal speed, using some energy to take down two gaurds in a burst of speed. For this job, they'd need Anthony. He pulled out a phone. He had Anthony's number from the assassination job. He texted: Hey Anthony, this is Darkness. The team (which is now called Guns n' Ninjas), is infiltrating Plasmacore. Be great if you could join us. He then waited for the rest of them, standing as still as rock storing energy from himself. @ApatheticTeenager I'm going to assume you're Ark.
  20. Algorath knew that his pack wouldn't be welcome within the city. He knew that they would be loath to go themselves. But he also knew that they'd follow him anywhere, regardless of adversity, if need by. So they streamed into the city. From rooftop to rooftop, moving steadily closer to the fens. Algorath alighted in front of Mutig, leaping from the roof of the tavern. "Mutig, it's time. I have my pack, we can take it. No need to bother Amara, she doesn't need to go into danger." He paused, noticing the troubled look on Mutig's face. "Mutig, what's wrong?" He asked. @Chasmfiend#1
  21. Why? This thread is all about spammy things anyway.
  22. Why thank you my successor (My username used to be Kaladin78, long, long ago).
  23. Darkness had taken the liberty of visiting his favorite steelsmith place before scouting a landing place for the team. He stashed several knives around his person. An assassination stiletto, two thick daggers for knife fighting, a curved dagger for torture work, a couple hundred small throwing knives, a couple stabbing shanks for street fighting, two long katanas for fighting multiple opponents, and of course, his favorite gold-plated carving knife—for sentimental value. He also stashed a small proximity bomb, for insurance purposes. Finally, he was ready to move out. "Where to boss?" He asked Mike. @Sorana
  24. Edalb shook her head. "We really can't grant the DA resources, or really anything about them. If you want to talk to a denizen, I can summon one." She then began to do a complex choreographed dance, summoning a powerful denizen indeed. @Voidus @Ark1002
  25. Algorath stood atop the wall in man form. A dark cloaked figure silhouetted against the sky. The wolves would be more reluctant to join him now that he was a Monster. It seemed that these days it was much harder to work out who he was. Man or Wolf? Or some strange mix of both? He like his meat raw, but he liked to sit at a table to eat it. He liked to run through the forest, but on two legs instead of four. Could he ever really live in one world, or would he be a stranger to both? An outcast? Would the wolves even come to him? He'd watched the humans in the dark streets he'd walked through. They'd looked at him with fear-stricken eyes, quickly creating a bubble of space around him. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't mind the room. But the attention they'd paid him was disconcerting, and the fear was demoralizing. Given time, it could start to change him. Make him a killer. He'd finally taken to the rooftops so he wouldn't have to face their blaming stares. But here, on the wall, he could finally feel free. He was on the border. At his back was the world of man. The world of structure and organization. The world of progress. Before him was the world of beast. The world of chaos, of the fight for survival. The world of harmony. Right now, he would not have to choose. He was content to stay on the fringe, watching the movement within each society. But nothing could sustain itself on such things. He lept from the wall, into the world of harmony. He then ran. He ran as fast as his two legs could carry him. When he could not go faster, he shifted to four. He stood atop a rock, fully wolf. Perhaps he could impersonate a citizen of either world, but the changes were only skin deep. His true self, a mix of both, would also horrify both. He thrust his mouth towards the sky, and let loose a howl. It was an eerie, haunting sound. A sound that embodied all of Algorath's pain and isolation. And they came. They would follow him into the mouth of the blackness. Wolves were loyal to the end, they must've been in order to preserve the harmony. He smiled. It would not matter if he was half man. They would follow him regardless. He shifted to his old mix of both, raising clawed hands towards the sky and howling again. Beware Roshek. Algorath's pack was coming.
