Probably just life. On another note, why does Frozen get a sequel?
-
What did happen to whatthehoid anyway. I haven't seen her around.

I'm fine with this. I didn't really have a shape for it in my head canon, but this should work. I'm also curious about Sorana's question. Is it doing this of it's own free will, or is it being forced? @ZincAboutIt

Jorel sighed. The ignorance ruse almost never paid off. He would have to battle his way to the surface. Even though they were letting a normal civilian down with no trouble. "I ask again. I just want to get the the surface of Corislain through the normal channels. No trouble." Two men came through the doors to the briefing room, one heavily scarred. They don't want to get tangled in this, Jorel thought, This man is too dangerous to be allowed to run free on the most populated rock in the system. @Dr. Dapper

Memories flashed through Galvris's mind. A huge firestorm with a silver figure laughing in the center. A rift hanging in the air, an army streaming out. And the power, ripping through him. Too much of it, too much. It scourged his insides, scorched his mind. It raged through him, destroying, killing, shredding. Then, it had receded, leaving him alive. But it had receded too far, leaving him broken and empty, calling for it but never finding it. Falling through the air, yet seeing nothing in darkness. Crouching over a broken silver figure, weeping. The memories rushed at him faster and faster, going around his mind in a whirlwind until he could take it no more. He realized he was shaking. He was sitting at a table in the company, a cool drink in his hand. When had he sat down? @xinoehp512 @I think I am here. —— Necromancer noted the elevators with wonder, but didn't see any of the mysteriousness that this company was suppposedly famous for. Of course, the three hundred poisoned darts were definitely mysterious. Well, not mysterious, more shocking. Perhaps blunt. Lots of adverbs could also be used to describe the deep and dreamless sleep he fell into when dozens of them struck his skin. For a while, there was nothing. Then, there was sound. It came in bursts, just long enough for Necromancer to get a feel for the pattern, then they would drop again. Voices, he realized. They were talking about him. He woke the rest of the way and sat up, aging himself forwards to flush the poison from his system completely. He then looked at the two men in the room with him with confidence. @Ark1002

Keleth took every arguement in stride, and when an opening presented itself, he lept for it. "Yes, Hemalurgy is a dangerous art, but also beneficial. We can't wait for people to be taken advantage of, it's probably happening already. We need to act. Now. With this in mind, I will present to you an edited version of Vargo's Laws." He drew another scroll from his robes, scrawled a few hasty notes, and began reading: "Starts with traditional crimes: Thievery of any sort is against the law, ownership being defined in a writen form (receipts, contracts, etc.), or if the owner produced the property. Murder or assault of any sort is against the law, assault being determined by causing enough damage to cause pain. Vandalism is also against the law. Vandalism being determined by causing enough damage to property to limit the property's usefulness. Monetary laws: Every citizen of Alleycity will be taxed 5% of all income. All transactions will have a 2% tax. With regard to Investiture: No being shall take undue advantage of those with less investiture (such as coercion, violence etc.). With regard to Hemalurgy:* Spike-outs may happen unrestricted to the terminally sick and the elderly, given that they are close enough to death to be bedridden. Spike-outs may also happen to those signing a form produced by the government. Form: Spike-ins must be accompanied by a copper spike to keep mental stability. Spike-ins may happen to anyone, as long as they are in accordance with hemalurgy laws. Spike-ins may not result in death. *Footnote: It has come to my attention that the DA, and only the DA is capable of performing hemalurgic expirements professionally, and hemalurgy will therefore be restricted to their use only. Foreign Policy: All foreigners to Alleycity are to be subjected to the same laws as citizens (Citizenship to be defined as anyone born in Alleycity, or those applying for citizenship through the proper channels). In disputes between foreigners and Alleycitizens, the law will regard either equally. Any foreigners are allowed in, as long as they are in accordance with the law. Foreign powers will be dealt with by the discretion of the government." Keleth rolled up the scroll, set it down, and waited for the fire... @Silva @anyone else

Good point. Just seemed isolated enough to contain the virus. Maybe somewhere like Antarctica would be better.

Galvris smiled in a little bit of an embarrassed way. "Well," he started out, "At the Den of Thieves, I was severed, and Ciera––" he gestured to Ciera, "Healed me, but also made me a warder. So I sort of have to do whatever she says." Galvris listened intently to the problems with the forge, and grimaced when Alask finished. "Maybe I could come and help, if Ciera would permit me." He looked hopefully to Ciera, then addressed her, "We could probably actually go there. We have no mission at the moment. It would be for the good of Alleycity." @I think I am here. @xinoehp512 @Dr. Dapper —— The receptionist had wandered away again, but Necromancer was tired of waiting. He decided to take a little look around. He went behind the desk, and walked hallways until he came to an elevator. He pressed the button. The doors opened to reveal... a completely normal elevator. He stepped in, and looked at the extensive number of buttons. He tentatively pressed the top button, and the elevator went up. Listening to slightly formulaic elevator music, he saw it go up past the first seven floors. You would think a rich powerful new company would have rich powerful elevator music. He wasn't disappointed past that though, as gothic heavy metal began playing. It was also formulaic, but in a different way. Finally, the elevator reached the top floor. The door opened, and Necromancer gasped at what he saw... @Ark1002

Algorath stopped and turned back to the man who had approached. "Yes, we are. You may join us Sayer. We could use all the help we can get, and your magic is powerful indeed. Though I don't know if it will work against something mindless, like a monster." @ZincAboutIt @Sorana @Steel Inquisitive @Chasmfiend#1

Keleth nodded. Good point. It seemed this one didn't really like him. His social skills weren't the best. "Yes, signing under duress is a problem," he conceded, "They can specify 'with permission' if you want them to, and if it really needs to be specified. As for the hemalurgic permission form, there can be a trustworthy government witness, but the witness could be biased or also forced to sign. Another solution is that they have to be signed by a rep within the government building. There are also numerous ways to prevent it using investiture."

Quite a problem there. I have a great idea though. You can forget the virus thing, drop it on some South American country or something, and just switch allegiances! In three easy steps, you can become a last poster too! So here's what you have to do: denounce the Longest Thread (over here, of course) Start posting like a madman here and never post on The Longest Thread again Bonus step: Put the banner in your sig. Now you can doubly impress employers. And have awesome bragging rights with all of your friends and family.

Algorath conceded. "Yes, we should be looking for the missing person now, not arguing over my misstep of words." He turned around, glove in hand, to head for the Fens where he had last smelled it. @Chasmfiend#1 @Sorana @Steel Inquisitive

So, about five more of these.

Don't bother with the specifics .

I dunno. Losing a thousand seems way easier.

Algorath was surrounded on all sides. "Look, that man called me an 'animal', and I said I was superior to him. What's wrong with stating the truth? I am superior in a physical sense."

Or, you know, you could just lose a thousand. That works too.

Jorel scratched his head, and he almost look surprised under his mask. "There isn't? I could've sworn... those swindlers! They said this card would let me get anywhere and see anyone!" He threw a gold inlaid white card onto the deck. "Do you realize that I went across half the system trying to find this fugitive. I caught only hints, only whispers of this man. But nothing came of it. Nothing! I thought Corislain is where I would finally corner him." He put a palm to his forehead, but then a thought seemed to occur to him. "I still need to get down there. My ship needs supplies, I need food and a job." @Dr. Dapper @I think I am here.

Necromancer shrugged, and returned to a seat by the wall, waiting for the receptionist to return. Galvris was about to follow Ciera, but something caught his eye. He walked over to two people, and to his surprise, he recognized them. "Alask? Nekorb? Didn't I see you both at the forge? All those years ago?" @I think I am here. @xinoehp512
