  1. We don't have electroreceptors in our body, we don't have electric organs generating outside electric fields, therefore we won't sense via electric fields. The process with which the human body detects electromagnetic fields is not understood yet. But we don't have sensory organs like platypuses or many fishes have.
  2. They can fill medallions while in the body of platypus or eel, but once the body is changed, or the medallion is given to a person, they don't have that sensory organ at all, tapping won't do much in that case. That's what I believe to be the case for F-tin - you need sensory organs to be able to store/tap senses. You won't generate an electric field and sense with it when your body can't do that in the first place.
  3. You can bond more than 1 Honorblade, and you would get all Surges they grant - 4 from two blades. You can bond more, you could bond all 10. 5 is enough to grant you all 10 Surges. Resonances would be tricky, as the more powers you have, the weaker resonances get. Likely Honorblades don't give resonances at all, or give something weaker.
  4. He did say that's a possibility, TLM ch 69: And both Telsin and the Set were worried that this bomb can destroy both Elendel and Bilming, TLM ch 69: TLM ch 58: If the bomb was really able to destroy both Elendel and Bilming when detonated in between them, that's like 80 km radius of destruction, a very, very big bomb - for comparison from https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/, Tsar bomba 50 MT detonated airborne had 60 km thermal radius, 54 km of light blast damage radius and 21 km of moderate blast damage radius (capable of destroying most buildings). A 100 MT airborne bomb would have 73 km, 92 km and 33 km respectively. For the Set bomb to destroy both Elendel and Bilming it would have to be of much greater power than 100 MT. Using this calculator: https://nuclearweaponsedproj.mit.edu/nuclear-weapon-effects-simulations-and-models/nuclear-weapons-blast-effects-calculator the bomb would have to be at least 1 GT in power for an airburst to destroy both Elendel and Bilming almost completely. That's a lot of power. And because Set was worried that with a rocket delivery it might also happen, damage done to Elendel and Bilming can't be because of the Tsunami, as in the case of a rocket that would be an airburst. Buuuut if the bomb would be able to literally vaporize both Bilming and Elendel, as Sazed suggested, wouldn't that mean that the fireball itself is 80 km in radius? Yes, he has no idea how powerful that bomb can be, but if he was right and both cities would be vaporized, then this has to be done by the fireball itself? Am I right? Just to show how ridiculous this would be, Tsar bomba has a fireball 4.6 km in radius, 100 MT has 6 km in radius - both airborne detonations (surface would be around 30% bigger). Of course all of this is coming from online calculators, take it with a grain of salt.
  5. No, the second part is a continuation of the first part, around 10 years after the SA 5. But it will include 2 books with Taln and Ash as flashback characters, that's why we will get glimpses of Ashyn, first Desolations and likely ancient Radiants as well, all from Heralds' perspective.
  6. Wait? "keep going at something over a large amount of time"? What do you think F-duralumin does? F-duralumin is connection. Did you mix it with F-electrum (determination) again? That can be an interesting combo - put a bubble when some dude is charging at you, keep storing your connection to him, drop the bubble, tap it and watch him being all confused because of his sudden feelings for you. Almost like emotional Allomancy. Can be handy. You're wanting to extract some information from guys you've never met? Put a bubble, start storing connections to them, drop it and tap connection as strong as you can, now you're their friend and a part of their "group" and they will just spill the beans. A good combo for a detective or investigator. Name: Walmart Wayne (because Wayne can do that too just by changing his accent) You're doing a great job with those combos, it's fun to talk about them. Don't feel too pressured, you're doing it for fun and if you don't make it on time, you can just skip a day or two, or even take a longer break. It's ok. You can post it after the 24 h time period, don't be too attached to this "deadline once a day". After all it's just for fun, make sure you are having fun in the first place
  7. Every spike causes damage, every spike, even the smallest earring Vin had, even a piece of broken sword Spook had, was enough for Ruin to talk to them, pull on their emotions, manipulate them. Vin was able to break through the mental wall of Marsh with Mist-powered soothing and saw through Marsh's eyes - here every Mistborn is also a Radiant, with access to Stormlight, which is the same as Mists, gaseous form of investiture. They can use it to power Allomancy, to break into Inquisitors. Hemalurgy ALWAYS damages the soul. You want to Forge them, spike them stealing parts of the Forgery and then spike them again giving them power? That will do even more damage to the spirit web, as donor binding points are not in the same place as recipient points - you will create twice as many holes in their spirit web - with donor holes being smaller, less damaging the soul than recipient, due to Forgery, but it will still damage them. That's a bad idea. And that's again bad idea Without your direct control (as a Bondsmith you would be able to do that) they are susceptible to Hemalurgic control by others. As explained above, there is a lot of ways of achieving that here. Your control would create another barrier that others would have to overcome, like in case of Vin and Marsh - Vin broke through Marsh's wall, but not Ruin's control. You should control them, that will mitigate most emotional Allomancy thrown at your minions, only the most powerful Bondsmiths and Bondsmiths/Fullborns (and Dawnshards with right powers) would be able to overcome you as well. There is still few of them (like mine) so you would still lose your minions eventually. Of course that's all matters if you gave them 4 or more spikes, or power equivalent to that (however stacking multiple powers into a single spike damages the soul compared to a single power in a single spike). If your minions require reapplying Soulstamps during a fight, that's the best way to kill them as well - almost all people here took leeching or Larkin, which might be able to leech Forged souls, or at least investiture in the stamp. Just wait for a Soulstamp to wear off, or leech it, and kill them. I'm not saying your build is wrong, it's a fun idea, if done right it can be good, you just have to take into account that you have to limit the amount of spikes given to your minions, or keep them under your direct hemalurgic control and find a way for this control to be the strongest on the arena. Plus tbf I don't know how minion's spikes should count, I think you should include their price in your list, but that's not my call to make.
  8. Well, here is a problem - 4 spikes is the limit after which you don't get any more power, and Shards can control you. With the knowledge from Nightwatcher you would likely be able to put more powers into a single spike, but still you would have to have less than 4 spikes in your minions. Any feruchemist with lots of connection stored can break into Hemalurgist with many spikes, Bondsmith can do the same, emotional Allomancy as well. Half of the people there are Fullborn Bondsmiths so good luck anyway
  9. Am I... an Archivist now? I believe it's one of few reasons. Another one is that Ruin's power is greater than Preservation. Discord might not be leaning to Preservation, at some point Sazed might not be able to suppress Ruin any longer, because it's stronger, and it will burst out making Discord leaning towards Ruin - which might not be a bad thing, Ruin isn't just about death, it's about entropy, change. Discord might drive change on Scadrial, and be able to act unlike Harmony. But there are many possibilities on this one. Honor is also about natural laws, sprens are embodiments of natural laws, sprens were likely already leaning towards both Cultivation and Honor before the Shattering - however it worked in detail. I agree, both of our ideas might still work together, depending on individual circumstances, or it might be something in between those two. As I said, you did a fantastic job at explaining your points in detail, it was a nice discussion to have.
  10. I knew there was a place where I wanted to reply. That's why I'm saying that Sazed is doing a bad job as a dual Shard wielder. He keeps both of those Shards separate, views them as separate and that's why they're not combined into truly singular Shard. Which was his intent when he Ascended, HoA Ch 82: The way he thinks about both Shards defines the Intent of Harmony (on top of WoBs posted previously): He keeps them separate, during the Ascension he wanted to use them together, but as of TLM it is proven that Harmony favors Preservation and is suppressing Ruin, which is not very Harmonious. They're not working together anymore, they're separate but against each other. The difference between Sazed and Rayse is that Rayse is holding a single Shard, while Sazed is holding two Shards. Sazed has much more wiggle room, which Rayse doesn't. And we KNOW that Harmony's Intent can be changed into Discord. So yes, actions and perception of a Vessel can affect a Shard so it would change the way it's manifesting itself. Also Rayse was handling Odium badly, he had been enslaved by the power not controlling it - which would severely limit the impact his perception would make. Sazed is still a young Shard, not influenced by his intent to that degree, having much greater impact over his Shard than Rayse. Brandon also said that before the Shattering spren on Roshar were already associated with different parts of Adonalsium (mainly Honor and Cultivation), so the investiture Adonalsium had might be already polarized to some degree before the Shattering. But his perception matters - Discord. Sazed also wanted to keep both Ruin and Preservation separate, that's why Sazed became Harmony, not Creation. His Intent in the moment of Ascension prevented him from becoming something different than Harmony/Discord, something more unified like Creation. That's my whole argument. Sazed is doing a bad job as a dual Shard. He isn't a combination of Ruin and Preservation, and both of them still exist within him, separately, because he keeps them separate. That's the whole problem with Harmony, he isn't truly united to his core. But he could be and should be. You're doing a great job at augmenting your theory, you've raised some good points. I do fully understand what you're saying, and it does make a lot of sense. I fully agree with this and expect this will be the case in Era 3.
  11. Why would Odium replace Cultivation? He would join in and become the third factor. What would be the combination of progress, oaths and conflict?
  12. There are WoBs on that, Mistborn spoilers:
  13. I wouldn't say that every Voidbinder would be able to see the future, this is mostly Truthwatchers thing. But overall I find it possible that this Death Rattle is related to Voidbinding, and this could be the final Ideal for them (which would be weird to have a Death Rattle word to word the same as their final Ideal). Also I don't think it would be in Odium/Honor vibe to swear about breaking their oaths, Odium isn't about breaking Oaths, he isn't the opposite of Honor. However I believe that this particular Death Rattle is about breaking Oaths in general, heavliy related to Shallan, as it's very similar to the way Shallan broke her own bond with Testament: "Life never existed, the Strength is nothing, and the journey is finished" - Sounds similar?
  14. Hard one. There is that WoB saying aluminum can cleanse the body, maybe together with F-bendalloy you could target storing not just calories in metalminds but also toxins, which you can burn away from metalminds with aluminum? Or straight up burn them away with aluminum when those are still in your body? Or something on much smaller scale, just increased immunity to toxins.
  15. Yes, but both Galladon and Riino still have Connection to Elantris and Dor while on Roshar (they are just too far away to draw from Dor). They're not fully disconnected, which is what I assume is happening while storing duralumin (assuming that you can store 100% of your Connection). If you can't store 100% of your Connection, what you're saying will be true, that's how they will look like. I don't think so because they underwent transformation, they are spiritually still Elantrias.
  16. Well, cats and dogs are as smart as a 2 year old baby, therefore I say yes. Which would be very irritating for a soother/rioter parent. Poor Breeze and Allrianne, they couldn't make their kids stop crying with emotional Allomancy, that had to be shocking for them!
  17. No, in BoM connection medallions are filled with something called blank connection, which connects you to the first place closest to you, giving you the ability to speak in that language. They do not store their connection before, it looks like a blank connection overwrites your original connection. Yes, there are different types of connections. There are connections to people, places, items, Shards, even time. Bonds, like Nahel Bond, are also connections. I believe you can store them all separately. You can store your connection to a single person, or single location, or to whole group of people, but when tapping it, you’re getting that connection strengthen (as storing connection to a person A and then tapping it affects only your connection to a person A and you can’t tap it to strengthen your connection to a person B). We recently talked about it here, where blank connection was discussed: https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/126252-f-duralumin-does-it-store-connection-or-the-ability-to-form-connections/
  18. In 2 of 3 WoBs I posted above, Brandon is saying "sapience is needed", and sapience is intelligence - that means you need your target to be intelligent, as close to a person as possible, for emotional Allomancy to work on them. A person is all sapient form of life in this context: Sho Del, spren, dragons, Singers etc.
  19. Yeah, but @Leuthie brought an excellent point, which I missed, without proper connection, they're stuck mid-transformation.
  20. Near-human sapience? No. They are sentient, very sentient, no doubt here, they can feel a lot of emotions. But they are far away from human sapience. They are smart for an animal, but not smart like humans are. From a quick google search: https://www.academypet.com/dog-neuron-count-2/ Also cats have never passed the mirror test, which suggests (not proves) self-awareness. There are fishes which passed the test. Dogs have never passed it either.
  21. Not likely, emotional Allomancy requires certain level of sapience
  22. This combination would be very good, a low level Atium good. They would get the feeling to dodge, strike at the right moment. And they could counter Atium to some extent. Everything is better with a bit of Fortune.
  23. It was already after the change: So yes, it's canon. Still canon after the retcon. Allomantic poster form HoA 2008 already has the name "Pure Atium" on it, the change was already done in 2008. The changes were done, and later WoBs still support the idea of Preservation switching 2 metals for Atium alloys. Yes, Pure Atium is burnable by everyone, not Atium alloys. WoB, 5 years after 2009 replay on the forum: As I said, I understand you, don't agree but understand. Until we get a clear confirmation from Brandon if Atium-electrum Mistings were the same as electrum Mistings and none of 16 based metals were switched by Preservation into Atium/Malatium, we will continue to disagree. Let's end with this as we both understand each other yet disagree.
  24. Many deadeyes are stuck in PR, others are stuck in CR - they are stuck wherever they were during Recreance. Maya already is in PR - she is primarily stuck in PR as a Shardblade. If she loses her bond, she will turn into a Shardblade, ready to be picked up and bonded by another person. She is stuck mainly in PR, not CR. Recreance might interfere with spren ability to travel between realms, but that’s a far smaller issue than a giant hole in their spirit web. I get it, you'll see it someday. Adolin is already giving Maya his strength and breath, physical things that no other spren needs. Normally spren get enhanced cognitive functions, in return they strengthen Knight's spirit web granting them powers. Maya needs to patch holes in her spirit web, Adolin is doing that - he might get something in return (not Surgebinding), but Maya will get far more from it than Adolin.
