  1. Please note that what Wit is doing here is Lightweaving - but not the way that Radiants do so. There are many aspects to Cosmere Magic that are universal, and in Future Cosmere some terms will become much more broadly defined. WoBs and References (spoiler for Elantris): I don't know how far into Stormlight Archive you have read, so I'll spoiler this just in case (Oathbringer): It is implied during that flashback (Mistborn Spoilers): We know Wit left for Kholinar, because we see him there in the Epilogue. However, he has other methods of knowing when he needs to be somewhere. WoB: The Cryptics were investigating Elhokar for a potential Bond. WoBs: Hope that helps
  2. You do still have to Snap, but Harmony changed how that works, and made it easier to accomplish to reduce teh Brutality from Rashek's Final Empire. WoB: Also, Snapping is not only a Scadrial Mechanic. But the mechanics differ by world and Shard. WoB: If Max does have Allomantic or Feruchemical potential, he would still need to Snap to awaken that potential - there is no evidence he has snapped prior to TLM. Hope that helps
  3. Interesting theories, but please note: Nightblood cannot kill a Shard (but did kill a Vessel) Anti-light also cannot kill a Shard (or, would require so much that the devestation would be far far worse that the Shattered Plains. The Plains were shattered long before Honor was Splintered The Plains were shattered before Aharietiam Honor was Splintered around the time of the Recreance (thousands of years later) WoBs: Hope that helps
  4. Welcome to the Shard. Please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful Forum info. There is @Trutharchivist's SPORG group, but that seems to focus on new releases, as far as I am aware. There are many that have used these forums in a similar way, such as (Spoilers at link - especially after first post) Reading MIstborn for the First Time and Mistborn Book 1 is Incredible. Without Spoilers: The first one is an example of people posting here after they read <some amount> - 1 or more chapters, or each "Part", etc. Then those of us here may respond to the posts. If you ask questions, you can let us know how you prefer we respond (spoiler free), possibly saying "this will or will not be answered" or answering the question in a spoiler tag, so you can come back later to read the tag or decide if it is a small enough spoiler that you want the answer now. We can even not answer the question directly, but provide hints or things to watch for in the spoiler tag - which you can also decide if you want to read now or wait for later. The second example was of similar, but wating until after each book to provide your thoughts, responses, theories and questions - which we can respond in the same way - letting you know if it will be answered, spoiler tagged hints, or spoiler tagged answers. Alternately, you may check out some of the various Intro Threads (consider making one yourself) to see if there are others new to the forum that also have not yet read MIstborn, and might like to form a reading discussion group (if you post an Intro thread, you can mention in that post that anybody insterested could PM you). Glad to have you here and hope you enjoy the journey. Hope that is helpful.
  5. The question is indirectly implied in this WoB: We know Moash's eyes reverted to their original color - so just bonding a Blade won't make the change permanent (possibly until you have had the bond long enough - his was only weeks old). And we know that the Honorblade Bond affected Szeth's eyes, but only while the sword was summoned. The WoB implies that if you are bonded to a blade, then the change is inheritible because that aspect of your Spiritweb was changed while the bond exists. Hope that helps
  6. He has. Yes, Stormbringer was part of the Inspiration. WoB: For another, similar effect, if you have not checked out Brent Weeks' Night Angel Series (Content and Language Warning) - Retribution and the Ka'kari:
  7. You may find these helpful: Everstorm Timeline Rosharan Date System Roshar Calendar Death Rattle Analysis Analysis: Hope that helps Edited @Lhyllianna
  8. Spren are definitely investiture - they are Splinters. However, capturing an Unmade in a perfect gem does not function the way that Fabrial spren are coaxed into a gem - you do not need to drain any Light to capture an Unmade - it instead requires Connection. WoB: That's also why Re-Shephir ran from Shallan when she realized that Shallan had such a Connection. She had already been captured in a Gem before and had learned to be wary of imprisonment. Dalinar remarks on that in one of the sections quoted above.
  9. I'm sorry for my 10 minute mock-up being uneven - I simply wanted to verify what @Dragonheir meant before investing significant time in the final product. I should be able to clean it up this weekend now that I know I was on the right track with version 2. (Note: that back angle isn't actually 90 degrees - it's just close, so a basic copy and rotate in CorelDraw did not make even connections, I will have to make minor adjustments to the original graphic to get an even symmetry)
  10. It's a Spren. Unfortunately, we don't know much more than that.
  11. Like This? Version 1: Version 2:
  12. This is Cosmere discussion, such comments are allowed (as long as the work is not a new release/preview in its Spoiler Period) : The same comment would, however, require a spoiler tag if it were in either the Stormlight Archive or Warbreaker Forums, as all series/Book forums require spoiler tags for anything from outside that book/series. Thanks for watching out though - it's great seeing people congizant of avoiding spoilers for other fans.
  13. What Resolution are you looking for? The Full Table on both Sanderson's Website and the Coppermind (which also has Art Pages) is 1440x1152 (but it also has spoilers for Well of Ascension (WoA), Hero of Ages (HoA) and more). For my personal eBook, I recreated the table from The Fallen Empire (TFE) (and WoA, HoA) because the original graphic does have very poor resolution. Does this help: We can probably help get the other resources at an increased resolution (or even a larger version of this, if needed). Also, Minor Spoiler: Hope that helps
  14. We do have this WoB: So a Resonance, as we currently understand it, is developed when two powers are used regularly enough to cause changes to the Spiritweb. Based on that, I doubt just holding BioChromatic Breath will do anything - even if you have some other Manifestation of Investiture. Then, when you look are using Breath - (known) Awakening isn't going through your Spiritweb - you are sending the Breath out to create a fake "Soul" for something (object, lifeless, etc.), allowing it to follow one or more Commands. So, again it's hard to see how the two poweres would interact in the Spiritweb to cause a Resonance. That said, if fan theories about other methods of using Breath (like the Memory Command) are correct, and that would allow the two to interact within the Spiritweb, then it might be possible. Hope that helps.
  15. Please keep Preview material in the appropriate Spoiler Section.
  16. It's not just Nalthis and the Fifth Heightening (via Breath). White Sand Spoilers: But yes, One-percenter Mega-Corp rich worldhoppers will likely cause all kinds of problems in the future.

Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter) so that we can avoid spoilers, should that be necessary. Please also consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some tips, tricks and resources. Also discussed here - as far as we know it is an unresolved plot hole, with the implication that TenSoon (who knew Zane had a bag of Atium, but may not have known he had it on him at this point - with the Mistcloak being the clue) would have taken the bag with him back to the Homeland to add to the Trust (note Vin did not search the body before stumbling away to find Elend). Hope that helps
  18. Is this a WoB you have seen before and are hoping to find again, or just something you hope exists? Possibly something you saw in the wild, but not necessarily a "WoB" (that has been transcribed and published in the Arcanum)? If the former, do you have any more data (such as before or after RoW)? Searching variations of keywords: Cultivation, Edgedancer, Truthwatcher, Surge, Tuest, Progression, Regrowth (and probably one or two I forgot for this list) yeilded the following, but I don't think any of them are likely to be the one for which you search. Any more details (especially keywords) would help narrow it down. WoBs: Hope that helps - and if not, any other details you can recall may help find what you are looking for.
  19. Any referenced WoBs will be together at the end. This is a fan debate - there are some who think you could (I am not one of them - the available WoB implies that you are storing or tapping core body heat which is very different from dermal and subdermal damage created by environmental heat - as anybody who has suffered hyporthermia and/or heat stroke |in their various degrees of severity| can attest). So, based on confirmed data, you could definitely "cool off" in a hot environment by storing body heat - but you would be limited to storing as your core temperature warms from the environment - not "storing the burninG fire on my left third metacarpal" specific storing (at least based on current confirmed data - but also not explicitely ruled out). Unlikely, see above Possibly, assuming you could survive contact with molten brass - WoB confirms that melting (or otherwise changin state) will not destroy the storage of a metalmind until/unless you change it (such as alloy or contamination). The Dor is not Plasma (in the energy sense) - it is dense investiture that is best described as a state similar to energy's Plasma state. It is a distinct difference because, not only can Energy/Matter/Investiture change ebtween each other - but Investiture itself can exist in states similar to most energy and matter states (Stormlight as Energy in a photon state when stored, and as a Gaseous Matter state when breathed in and used kinetically, and as a Solid Godmetal Matter state as a shardblade (but an intermediary gaseous state while being summoned), and as a liquid matter state while filling the Well, etc.) This is also a fan debate (discussed here and other threads), but based on known information it would appear that F-Steel is about fast twitch fibers and how quickly muscles can expand or contract. Depends on the situation. For example, there are traits that you cannot store too deeply without risking death (e.g. speed - store too much and your heart just stops beating) while others are limited by how much of a trait is available or how quickly it can be stored. Hope that helps
  20. It would definitely need to be supplemented with instruction and a culture shift - but the premise of at least having the choice seems like it may help; since friends can watch out for friends, even when that person does not recognize for themselves that turning the feature off or on would help with their specific situation.
  21. That was why I suggested this on page 1: May not be a solution, but it might be a step in the right direction (if it is even possible).
  22. We know it has to do with a mechanic that is colloquially known as Spiritual DNA (sDNA) - but we do not know how that mechanic functions. Warbreaker Spoilers: sDNA WoBs: Hope that helps
  23. No worries. Life happens and we all make mistakes now-and-again Not to mention the awesome mod and admin team that helps us set things right, when needed.
  24. BLUF: We don't know. Yolish Lightweaving was only featured in Dragonsteel (Prime), which is not canon (but is available to be read and has it's own discussion board here). However, even in DP, we see some examples of Yolish Lightweaving being used but it is never explained*. We could ask that this thread be moved to the Curiosities section if you would like more detail, but non-Canon (AoN, TWoKP, DP) works should not be discussed in the Canon book sections, to help prevent confusion amongst new readers. * Minor Spoilers Hope that helps
  25. Yes, that's the problem. I'm sorry I was unclear - I meant will it become mandatory - and if it does will you add email codes (I do not have a cell phone or any way to use any authenticator app - so if more options are not available, I am effectively removed from the site).
