I'm starting to really see the points about Araris. I believe he is a Cultist. My vote, however, is staying on Karlin because I think he is the Gyorn and I don't think he's picked an Odiv yet. And if he has, the pool is still small enough to find the Odiv quickly.

I still don't have a ton of time (health is improving though! ) but I've noted suspicion of Ostrich and Karlin before. I'm nowhere near as suspicious of "Ostrich" as I was as the primary reason for suspecting him is no longer particularly valid. It's not that he's sure to be innocent, but there isn't a ton of evidence that he's guilty. Welcome Silverblade btw.

 

Knowing that Karlin has a seon definitely adds to his suspiciousness.

 

Also, we have at least 2 warriors and 2 priests? All guaranteed non-cultist/Gyorn and the priests guaranteed non-Odiv and with the transferable pendants that's a heck of a lot of citizen power. What that suggests to me is that the cultists may well have 6 players (I doubt more than that) but whether they do or not they probably have at least 2 players with roles still alive. It's a guess, but given how much power we have I think it's a reasonable one.

*sigh* Last time Wilson said I was an eliminator things ended badly for me . I'm not quite sure where I went wrong. If there is something I missed in my last post, please point it out to me because the thread is over 50 pages long, and I don't really have the motivation to read through the whole thing every time I make a post. I guess I am a decent target for the lynch, since I have only been putting in a couple posts each cycle, and I haven't been converted or anything. But it would be nice to know, before I perish (which I hope doesn't happen), what exactly people are flagging me for, so I can fix a few things come next game.

Alright, time to do some analysis. I have a bad habit of viewing the thread, and then not posting my thoughts at the issues at hand. I'm trying to correct that habit, so here we go.

 

Suspicions:

1. Karlin: Has a Seon, but hasn't been using it. Has only contacted Jain.
2. Jain: Is being defensive
3. Kipper: His vote on Honey Badger still doesn't sit right with me.

Of the three, I have to put my vote on Karlin. While I think it was odd that Jain didn't notice the call for Seons, I find it even odder that Karlin didn't notice it either. Even if Karlin is good, he can at least pass his Seon over to someone else. He's the less risky of the candidates.

I've got to agree with Sart on this. While I don't think we should squander the lead we have right now, if Karlin is a villager, then they're only doing the bare minimum to stay alive and they're not helping us find any of the Cultists or the Gyorn. Since we do have a bit of a head start on the Cultists thanks to the blocked kills and all, I'm more than willing to take a chance on a player who we don't know much more about other than the fact that they've been incredibly unhelpful. At least Jain has been willing to speak up and give us reason for suspecting him; whether or not we accept that reasoning isn't the point, just the fact that he's interacting. 

 

Granted, this is coming from me though and I would start killing Lurkers starting on Day 1. We win as a team, so if you're a Villager and Lurking, then you're hindering your team.

Between Karlin and Jain I find Karlin to be more suspicious. Even if you don't have a lot of time in the game using the Seon even minimally would be helpful to both the villagers team and you(If you're a villager).

I think I'll also go with  Karlin.

I'll go for Karlin, I don't see Jain as that suspicious, to be honest. Anybody would get defensive if a large group of players turned against them without proof.

Sart (Why do I keep on calling you that?) A smart guy, I get that my vote on Honey Badger looked bad. I obviously didn't explain enough at the time, but I simply agreed with Clanky, and did not want to say exactly the same thing again.

I’m really sorry about how inactive I’ve been. Again. I just haven’t been able to put much thought into this game, and I don’t usually like to post unless I have something to add to the discussion.

For now it seems like Karlin is going to be lynched. I’ll add a vote for him just to make sure nothing can happen, although I don’t think there’s anything anyone can do to mess with the lynch right now anyway. If he’s good, I hope he’s made someone trustworthy the heir for his Seon so it’s not lost. (I hope he’s done that if he’s not good too, but I doubt he would.)

I’ll try to look through some of the thread again and put together some analysis during the night cycle, but I’m not sure if I’ll have time. I know I haven’t been all that helpful this game, and I’m sorry.

Night Seven: A King Falls

 

Spirits were high, for the cultists had been thwarted again, and MenE had returned from Elantris.  The beginning of the day was spent without much discussion, with people instead relaxing and speaking lightly, occasionally bringing up suspicions.

 

Eventually, it was revealed that Karlin had a Seon, and had deemed not to share its name with everyone.  He had been incredibly quiet through the last week, just occasionally speaking up, and soon accusations piled up on him, for either being too quiet, or being a Jeskeri Cultist.

 

As the day was winding down, it seemed final that everyone suspected Karlin and would kill him, but he was nowhere to be found.  A group of guards was sent out to find him, and returned empty-handed.  Just when the court thought that they would have to postpone killing Karlin, he stepped forth from the shadows.

 

“I had hoped you would change your minds on your own, but that seems like it won’t happen now.”

 

A flurry of affirmatives rose from the crowd, as well as explanations and reasons, but Karlin held up his hand to silence them.  “It is fine and understandable, though I am mildly disappointed with you all.  I came here in secret to see the workings of the Court that I normally don’t see, and I wish I had not chosen to.  I am happy I wasn't discovered, but I still regret the decision.”  Karlin paused and looked around the room, before settling on Kiireon.  “My Lady Wife, seeing as I won’t survive the day, I wish you happiness.”

 

He nodded to the guards as he walked up to them, and turned around.  “I beg all of you, please, rid Arelon of all of the forces attempting to destroy it.  We survived through the Fall of Elantris, and I believe you can survive this as well.  Please, survive this time, and be strengthened by that.”

 

Before he left the room, Karlin spoke up again, without turning around.  “Oh, and I didn’t deem any of you worthy enough of being King.  Prove me wrong.  My crown is available for anyone.”  With that, he left to his death.

 

Karlin was the King of Arelon! His Seon, Teo, was lost!

Karlin did not leave any inheritance rules, so his crown is available to whoever shows enough cunningness, initiative, and foresight to sieze it. The first player to post the exact phrase “I seize Karlin’s crown” will become King in addition to his or her current role(s). This option is available to all players in the game, including Elantrians and Hoed.

Chaos erupted in the palace as fighting immediately broke out over the crown. It didn't last long though. Queen Kiireon stepped in with authority ringing in her voice and commanded that order be restored. The guards, who were already used to obeying her, leapt to fulfill her wishes, and soon things settled back down, without any blood being spilt.

 

Congrats to King-Queen Wilson! And since I know people are going to wonder, the way it works is that now her vote will count as 3 votes (+1 vote for each crown she wears, no matter how ridiculous she looks with 2 crowns on her head ). She may set up inheritance rules separately for each crown, or one set of rules for both crowns. It's up to her.

 

@Kipper: She did get the exact phrase correctly. The extraneous stuff in her post doesn't matter.

I doubt it's four. I'll bet I've only got three. And I did post the exact phrase. I just added onto it. If you notice, the phrase in the writeup didn't include period. Also, my reasons for doing so are solely because I'm pretty sure we've wiped the Cultists out of vote manipulation and I don't want to risk giving them more.

 

Also in light of my tasty vote addition, I want to reiterate my message to the Gyorn: Choosing me as your Odiv would be a very poor life choice. Trust me. You do not want me as your Odiv (assuming you haven't already chosen one). While I haven't sabotaged myself like Kas has, there are other reasons why I'm a very poor Odiv candidate, namely that I will die this game. That's just a fact.

It appears Meta got hit by the duke/duchess, moving his vote to Kas. Makes me think that our duke might not be a cultist - Meta should be able to use their vote find their identity, and then scan to verify allignment. I guess we'll see.

You thought you'd die before Round 4. You're 3 days past your expiry date.

 

I would've died Night 2 3 if Orlok hadn't given me his pendant. So my prediction for getting hit was accurate. I simply survived it. But I'm not surviving another hit. Not unless a Warrior's got my back (unlikely), and I'm going to take another hit. It's only a matter of time. I'm not sure what direction the hit's going to come from, but I'll die.

I'm saying that I can see why the Gyorn would think that I would be an excellent choice. In his position, I would be very likely to choose myself as Odiv. But he'll regret that if he does it. It's a miracle I've survived this long. But my luck is going to run out. It always does. I'm not the strategic choice for Odiv, regardless of my now-triple vote.

 

And I know that someone is going to post this, so it might as well be me:
