Thank you all for the wonderful first experience and the first time I've lost sleep because of SE (don't worry, it wasn't much, I'm fine).

And also the high from killing an Elim... So worth it.

Ink - First SE game, how was it?

It was great, thank you very much! I spent the whole time being incredibly confused, which was unsurprising, and somehow wasn't exed, which was surprising. I was very glad when @IcedOutPenguin claimed Coinshot because THANK GOODNESS, SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING. I had a great time!!!!

Well in conclusion i want to thank @A Jo in the Bush and @The Unknown Medallion for running a wonderful AG. It was very chaotic and those are my favorite games. Aperantly this was my first AG??? So very nice to get to contribute to the ever growing Tyrian lore with 1 past lives and 1 Returned character xD. The cosmetic roles were wonderful and really got me thinking about different ideas for RP. The distro was exciting and I loved being able to watch the reactions of different people in thread. This game was a success fun wise and thats all that matters.

Many apologies to my elim team @ThatOneWorldhopper @Honors Ghost @Araris Valerian and @Doc12. this was probably my second worst elim game I've played behind LG50 which was my second ever game. I've been saying I'm rusty : P. I was very indecisive and never really committed to a play. The one play I wanted to make (Seeker claim in PM) I waited until it was too late in the day to make it wouthout being sus, leaned into my own playstyle out of fear instead of doing something new and generally just didnt think out of the box... So I put a lot of blame on Honor's and Araris' deaths on me as I think I could have done something. But the past is the past. I really enjoyed being elim with you 4 and in a different game we really would have been a very chaotic team which is my favorite kind. Also @Honors Ghost it was very funny to see you say if you had to pick someone, you'd impersonate my play, right to my face xD. @Doc12 ahh my bad I thought the trade was Meerkat's fish in exchange for Syl? *gives back Syl*. Dont worry, she was well taken care of, very wonderful cat... but also you think new locks alone are enough to stop me?  Fura aperantly canonically now has an Aviar in addition to her spikes lol

@Archer what a wonderful game! It was very impressive how you managed to balance your gimmick with contributing to the thread. Well deserved pass. Ive always strongly believed that this game is most fun when we don't play optimally and instead lean into the other things that make SE different than other communities and how you played this game is exactly why I love SE. Also, how do you know Im colorblind? I dont think we've played a game together... is it all the way back from allyverse days??

@DrakeMarshall and @Aeternum wow you both came into this game swinging with both RP and analysis. C3 was so fun to come back and read in part as you two had such lively (and easy to read) RP = )

@|TJ| haha you were Rhino that makes sense. I dont know if i talked about this in the doc, but the moment you started doing analysis with the lists and arrows I immediately knew I had played a game with you before... but I couldnt remember who. I ran through all the players I knew and most dont have unique formatting like that. I even went back to skim some of my past games... I should have guessed it was close to my hiatus xD

@TwinStorm thanks for the PM! You also helped me come up with ideas for my RP even if they started as jokes xD. You and @Hoid Slayer are the only 2 that PMed me unfortunately. But I suppose I didnt PM like I usually do either. Hoid I loved the energy you brought to this game and the chaotic energy. I totally see people mistaking us... though I do think you seem a bit higher energy/younger than me from my perspectice xD.

Frankly I was very confused this game. Obviously I dont know a lot of players in SE thought the vast majority of players were quite experienced. @Divergent, @Mistfallen Soldier, @Akimikoisthecutest (wonderful RP and commitment. I loved how much personality were in your memos), and @mippo i thought all of you were likely players i probably knew from 2018-19. The Rollover Crew led by @Kasimir was incredible... and idk why I tried to challenge you for control of the thread when I thought you were Kas. I usually go for a thread leader role both as village and elim but there are several players i havent been able to contest and clearly you're one. I havent put enough thought in but there is just certain ways some players talk where village just immediately falls in line... though dont think i wont try to contest you  again : P. Also do you still have papers or was that you playing someone playing you? XD DeTess was my backup guess for you. I miss them though I saw they were online at some point.

@CoderDrag0n8 ah... well... good job scanning me lol. You were a good seeker and claiming when you did likely contributed to the win that cycle a lot as planning confirms became way easier. I was hoping if you gave me a cycle or two I could spin a second elim kandra taking the role to deny village but once Kas got seeker as well... I hadn't figured out how that was going to work xD

I'm going to edit in my RP when at a computer for easy future reference for me... but also just want to mention some of the stuff I put in my RP.

The mysterious woman is Fura, as I expected Jo/TUM to kill her and when they didnt was like... well shes on this ship should probably do something with her.

The aviar came from a joke in my PM with twinstorm

Stormseeker is meant to be a reference to my identity. Few people in this game likely know Maill but thats the reference.

The RP for my death was a quick fixed version. The version in the elim doc was the original. I checked the writeups to make sure I didnt mess anything up and I always mix up flamingo/albatross/ostrich idk why so I thought I could use Ostrich who was my account in my first ever game where I played Liss in LG 49. I referenced assassin turned security (liss) in year 12749 (12=L, 7=G, 49)

Scraf = Jo. Don't ask why idk. I made a decision when I had Scraf spy on whoever I scanned that Jo's message to me would be made through Scraf's voice in world.

Peaches = TUM. Again dont ask why. I just decided after doing that with Jo in wanted to do that for TUM as well so I made Peaches able to talk and his two sentences "noted" and "there's going to be 3 Kases" were both things said by TUM in my GM PM. Don't worry about the context of that last one : P

edit: now I have to spend the next several weeks giving you all upvotes for all the amazing RP this past week lol

I cannot shed my analysis style no matter how much I try >> I did a lot of bullet points and numbered lists before though I do not recall using arrows before, I thought it was just about different to throw people off, hehe

@A Jo in the Bush, @The Unknown Medallion, congratulations on hosting your first AG! GMing is a tiring job and all the players make sure that it is not an thankless job as we are very grateful for your extremely fun set-ups. Glad to have been the first to predict and stick with 2 v!CS :P. 

I agree that this game would have been much more balanced with the exclusion of Kandras and only 3 v!Lurcher. Even with the game as it was, without the mass claims I think the game would have dragged to at least 2 more cycles. 

However, I disagree with the necessity for anti-hammering mechanics. I understand that it can be frustrating to the GMs for things to change late in the cycle (I say this as a GM who has hosted a 77-page QF). But the argument that we have 48 hours to come to a conclusion about the exe does not hold water because things are constantly changing and everyone is just responding to the changes and to the new information. Elims have the night kill power to silence the villagers. Villagers can only win the game by solving it, so they should not be penalised for try-harding in my opinion. Perhaps a post-cap in the last hour of the cycle? But that is extra work for the GM.

The GMs said to not reveal until after the game. I decided for once (1) in my SE life I would take that seriously. It just so happened I had absolutely zero bandwidth to hide until after the game (RE: your mention of papers) because a paper/report tasking came in outta nowhere and was urgent and then three more slipped into my inbox which is why I was working this game sleep-deprived for most of the week+ and with zero energy to hide so just said whatever we ball.

Tbh I would not have minded if we were Elims together - we've never ticked off that dance card - but the thought has also crossed my mind this is actually a good game to retire to, we'll never really reach this kind of heights again. Agreed, your identity was actually the one I was the most curious about because I felt we had good Village-sided chemistry and I kept trying to think about players I had that history with and coming up short. Both ends I think. If you're too meta-savvy you know Tyrian AGs always have a ML trap. It's why I was so desperate to just flip in <Cham, Lion> and kept refusing on most days to push in the CSes or Lurchers - I kept theorising there's something we're not actually seeing and the 2 v!CS + 4 v!L puzzle was a distraction. (Plus, spanreed - I have a healthy respect for Elims just not claiming or lying about their role since I did that a couple of times to let the Village get some free MLs in.)

Good job btw, really loved the gimmick and was ridiculously excited once I realised you were doing a Bumblebee.

I'm not the easiest guy to threadwar*, this is true, but you are correct that this calculus gave you some v!credit from Beagle, and I think it won you a bit of extra time before I went to reconsider your slot, particularly because I was worried I was being unfair to you, so in general I'm not sure it was a bad approach. Like in a way...

Hahaha maybe I'll regret saying this but...

I mean, if you can take me out of the equation, even if you can't get me exed, it's still a win right? And if you pushed me into doubting my reads or at least wanting to give you space because I'm not sure I'm right about you, that's still a win because I'm ceding the thread or at least ceding a couple of reads/defenses which creates room for MLing. Sure I was tired on D2 which also influenced my decision to shrug-vote Ocho, but I am also not sure that happens without my looking at our clash and going "yeah, you know what, give it a break."

Sometimes the war to win isn't necessarily overall in the thread but in the mind of the person you're pushing.

*I've technically threadwarred decaffeinated Aman, decaf Orlok, Fifth, and Archer, so I would probably say 'not the easiest' is the best way to put it.

Shout-out to the Rollover Exe Crew ( @Divergent, @Archer, @Hoid Slayer, @|TJ|, honorary in @DrakeMarshall and @Aeternum) since we've apparently been carrying the exe on our backs  (j/k but the team chemistry was actually quite insane, loved the engagement and discussion and compulsive puzzle-solving, as was how we somehow managed to keep on lucking our way into the correct decisions at the very end, if only Dive, TJ, and myself were probably more gung-ho about calling an airstrike on Fura rather than going "er...no."  )

I can't miss the AG! (I'm only saying that so if I miss the next AG, you'll waste time trying to find me) I think I might play one or two more, time permitting. 

Can I sell you on a 72 hour combined day-night cycle where the elim NK triggers at the 48 hour mark? You'd get activity spikes right before and after the NK, probably kicking off the EOD rush early.

I mean, yes and no? I definitely spent a solid 10 hours building it before the game began, and only saved a maximum of 3 hours, but, very importantly, those three hours were saved at premium times.

I wake up at 5:30, rollover is at 7, I have to leave for work at 7:30. In that time period I have to cook and eat breakfast, do dishes,feed and clean my cats, do regular morning prep, record any new votes/actions, write the story for the writeup if TUM is busy with family, and double check the action output. I don't have a lot of time in the morning, so saving probably 20 minutes every rollover was actually super useful to me. I spent free time when I had plenty of it to save time when I didn't have it.

Plus, you know, skill building. I've already learned ways to make this sheet a lot better just from working on it as much as I have.

The GMs said to not reveal until after the game. I decided for once (1) in my SE life I would take that seriously. It just so happened I had absolutely zero bandwidth to hide until after the game (RE: your mention of papers) because a paper/report tasking came in outta nowhere and was urgent and then three more slipped into my inbox which is why I was working this game sleep-deprived for most of the week+ and with zero energy to hide so just said whatever we ball.

Honestly I thought Gecko was you, RIP  I also just legit did not remember the difference between your V! and E! play so it wouldn't have done anything (and my general resolution this game was to play about 95% off raw vote/post analysis because I had no time/energy (yes a theme I know) to go figure who was who.

Tbh I would not have minded if we were Elims together - we've never ticked off that dance card - but the thought has also crossed my mind this is actually a good game to retire to, we'll never really reach this kind of heights again. I did figure you were probably out there somewhere, I just also had zero energy for anything (so in that light, thank God I didn't rand Elim.)

Agreed, your identity was actually the one I was the most curious about because I felt we had good Village-sided chemistry and I kept trying to think about players I had that history with and coming up short. Thanks, it was definitely fun! Also thanks for saving me from MLing @|TJ|, we've not been very good bros lately, though I got on the v!Rhino train after he helped us kill Meerkat.

Both ends I think. If you're too meta-savvy you know Tyrian AGs always have a ML trap. It's why I was so desperate to just flip in <Cham, Lion> and kept refusing on most days to push in the CSes or Lurchers - I kept theorising there's something we're not actually seeing and the 2 v!CS + 4 v!L puzzle was a distraction. (Plus, spanreed - I have a healthy respect for Elims just not claiming or lying about their role since I did that a couple of times to let the Village get some free MLs in.)

Good job btw, really loved the gimmick and was ridiculously excited once I realised you were doing a Bumblebee.

I'm not the easiest guy to threadwar*, this is true, but you are correct that this calculus gave you some v!credit from Beagle, and I think it won you a bit of extra time before I went to reconsider your slot, particularly because I was worried I was being unfair to you, so in general I'm not sure it was a bad approach. Like in a way...

I mean, if you can take me out of the equation, even if you can't get me exed, it's still a win right? And if you pushed me into doubting my reads or at least wanting to give you space because I'm not sure I'm right about you, that's still a win because I'm ceding the thread or at least ceding a couple of reads/defenses which creates room for MLing. Sure I was tired on D2 which also influenced my decision to shrug-vote Ocho, but I am also not sure that happens without my looking at our clash and going "yeah, you know what, give it a break."

Sometimes the war to win isn't necessarily overall in the thread but in the mind of the person you're pushing.

*I've technically threadwarred decaffeinated Aman, decaf Orlok, Fifth, and Archer, so I would probably say 'not the easiest' is the best way to put it.

Thanks to @A Jo in the Bush and @The Unknown Medallion for GMing - fun game to play. Still not sure if I'm fully done with SE and in general mafia games at this point, but it's nice to play one more Tyrian AG and if I do retire after this, it's a good game to have gone out on.

Shout-out to the Rollover Exe Crew ( @Divergent, @Archer, @Hoid Slayer, @|TJ|, honorary in @DrakeMarshall and @Aeternum) since we've apparently been carrying the exe on our backs  (j/k but the team chemistry was actually quite insane, loved the engagement and discussion and compulsive puzzle-solving, as was how we somehow managed to keep on lucking our way into the correct decisions at the very end, if only Dive, TJ, and myself were probably more gung-ho about calling an airstrike on Fura rather than going "er...no."  )

Quick thoughts are: Great minds, huh! Mistborn and Forger is awesome, Knight Radiant feels like it could bog down the game by denying progress, Feruchemist feels off base because you'd be better off constantly scanning and getting regular information than you are storing. And I'd be wary of approving a game that's so customized because it's a nightmare to anticipate how it'll play out. But that's my unofficial, retired-from-the-committee perspective.

Yeah I did want to thank both of you again for that kayana-arse distro because ngl I really have hit a certain - grind to the way I play games where almost everything is something I've seen before, it's just how different, and that distro genuinely shocked me out of my complacency and excited me into giving way more time than I'd intended to trying to crack it but I love it. I think the last time I had that kind of moment was for a distro not on this forum. AG8 is the other one that stands out here because lolSpikedcoinshot.

Like you can't ever go back, and you're not the same person you were, but for just those moments staring at the distro, it felt like playing AG1 or AG2 again, that kind of Kas, unburdened by experience or memory, just going "holy kark wtf" and it's a nice glimpse to have of that mental state. Despite the fact I died super early in AG1 and AG2 and technically therefore neither can really be true of me but still, memories are weird I guess.
