DAY FOUR

---

Zeke Slane looks furiously around the balcony for an escape route. There is none. On one side, a dizzying fall of at least twenty stories. On the other, a sea of faceless helmets glaring back. An ISB strike team here to collect him.

It was a near thing, perhaps, but he's run out of luck. Had they traced back his intrusions into their files? Did he confide in the wrong people? Did any of it matter?

No. He pushes down the thought. He knew the risks when he started down this road. And he'd do it again. Just to bloody the empire a little bit. Even nicks and bruises add up.

"You got me," he admits, meeting the eyes of the one leading the force. An ISB Supervisor, here in person to take him in. Exposing yourself like this was a mistake, he thinks. One I'll make you pay for.

He charges the leader. Of course, they start firing. Blaster bolts hit him again and again. By the time he reaches the Supervisor, it's sheer momentum carrying him along. But it's enough for one last revenge. They both go over the edge.

@Divergent has been executed for treason! He was a Rebel Tech.

@CoderDrag0n8 has been assassinated! He was the ISB Supervisor.

Rules Errata: Death comes at the end. (Of many things, but also more specifically the order of actions in this game.)

Hey OK so im not playing great this game... old age, memory loss, etc...

But when I realized I only claimed evil to Kas and BookNewt and forgot to with Dive, I figured oh I might as well try. I imply im evil, he responds implying he is evil, I convince some people to vote on him... and oh my am I glad I was right cause it would have been sooooooo embarrassing to be wrong.

For what it's worth Dive I didn't want to hammer you at the end there... sorry about that.

I've been playing a really chaotic and clumsy game so here is where I real it back in. Im probably going to be more intentional and less PM-y moving forward. Still PM me though! I love PMs! Im just going to stop with the secrets now.

That's true kinda funny... I wonder who they would have chosen... good job though! Game still going! Lol

Edit: maybe I'll actually get around to some rp lol

Yeah. I'm still dead drop central ig. Lemme get back on the rest later, busy RL stuff.

I got one from my friendly neighborhood isb killer. They sound nice. I think this is my second from them as well.

Yeah. I feel this guy just has a different MO from the last two ngl.

Idr what you got on day 2 but I think this is the same person as the planets one which I also got.

Yeah that's my thought. Clear stylistic and MO similarities. Yesterday I got one that drove me a bit nuts because it seemed to be the only instance we had, and it was very utilitarian/bare-bones.

Do the two messages have the same signature?

They're very useless (sorry Elims, I mean they're pretty but don't do anything) stylistic, fluffy, RP-heavy messages with the same sign-off so they're the same MO/reflect the same mindset. It's interesting there was nothing D2 from this chap though.

Anyway how many more Rebels we figuring? I'm thinking I'm cool sticking to my guns on V!Fura for the moments. There's a world in which this is Spymaster Fura who just gained trust by bussing Dive (or even not, maybe just friendly fire (?)) but I don't really think it's something I'm inclined to open atm. We might need to just gun our way through the Rebel numbers until we hit the Spymaster but ideally we get 'em and end this.

I'm gonna need to work out the Argenti counter-train after I'm done with my presentation.

P.S. Good job Coder, you did the most important thing a Head Honcho needs to do and did it correctly 🫡

Argenti-counter train? Is that for or against him?

Against.

Normally an Elim prefers to CW on a Villager. We need to figure out if Dive's voting behaviour gives any indication about Argenti due to fog-of-war.

Minimally Dive probably did not believe Argenti was the Spymaster.

"ISB loyalists - I hope you burn in the flames of Mustafar" - Well, that's awfully nice /s

I'm assuming I received the same message you're all talking about

Which does make this interesting:

Yeah I got the freedom message thing, but I assume everyone did.

Actually, IHAT claims he didn't

Yet we've also got two rebels in three days - pretty good job on your part, if I do say so myself

Gotta go to school

Might pop back in later

Indeed, we're not failing

not at all

the trade off for supervisor for elim is favorable for us, since there are much less elims and so we're bound to be killing their successors or finding their supervisors soon.

Posted

Okay good Divergent was an elim. I was crazy worried there for a minute that I was being tricked or something.

I didn't get a dead drop message either, so IHAT is probably (not definitely given he's lied before) telling the truth about that.

wait a second. ACE wasn't active D2... Is ACE likely to do stylistic rp messages like that? I don't know too much about his SE style.

Is there anything else about the rebels we can figure out from Divergent's voting and stuff? He could've thought Argenti wasn't a rebel, but might've just not known or might've been self preservation. (But yeah Argenti probably isn't Axis (aka the Spymaster for those who haven't seen Andor), at least not that Dive knew)

I wonder how elims figured out Coder was the supervisor (if they did, could've been a lucky "safe" kill). Because I had no clue. I also find it interesting the elims aren't going for the people that are reducing fog-of-war to increase confusion, bc that's a strategy I see often. I know TwinStorm liked doing that last game (I was elim with him) so that reduces his chance of being elim for me somewhat, although not completely.

And yeah great job Coder naming a successor. Thank you for your service to the Empire.

Finally Divergent you actually did a great job if you see this, particularly for being elim your first game.

Might edit some rp in here or smth in a bit bc I wanted to do rp last game and REALLY want to do some this game, but haven't gotten to it.

I just came back to SE, I'm sorry, I can't help with that :P

Please do some! I would but really tired and just trying to read some stuff if I can atm.

Don't worry too much on the 'first game' front, Divergent's clearly played elsewhere before, I recognise the terms used :P But yes, great play, Dive!

That's what I'm trying to work out. Given the timing of the vote, Argenti was the only possible self-pres option for Dive. I'd also wager Dive was the one who sent the fairly strategic and utilitarian message I got D2. I'm trying to figure if there's any sense we can make around the other messages, since Hoid did return last cycle too.

Can you say more about this? It might be useful for kill analysis.

Honestly I was too tired to care. But I was also too tired to even bother giving a reason for voting so shout-out to you man, all I did was just go "lol ACE ain't coming back" and naked voted without caring.

I am more willing to believe you are Village given the voting (one or two weird worlds I don't wanna think too hard about now) which makes the crossover on your name actually quite interesting where the messages were concerned. I'm thinking looking at players who were trying to push/set you up might matter too 🤔

Basically what I meant by that was the other game I played, the players that were providing a ton of helpful analysis or just providing vote counts or smth like that were usually targets so that confusion would increase.

Ah. Yeah, threat kills. There's a bunch of factors behind those, but I think we have to keep in mind as well that the Elims are also dealing with fog-of-war in this game. I'm guessing it is possibly a combination of factors: A. we aren't correct or generally aren't pressuring the Elims very much, B. the team isn't connected enough to accurately assess who is posing a threat to them, C. a corollary of B - they don't want to kill potential deepwolf members (I'm guessing that the message I received (and Doc claimed to have received one cycle after) was a very targeted recruitment message, so at least someone (Dive?) seemed to believe there were deepwolves, and D. the threat kills simply aren't successful on the RNG and they're selecting silent kills.

I think there's also E. - they've decided that the ideal strategy as a Head Honcho is to keep your head low and are thus shooting in the pool of players hanging back, figuring it's more likely to net a hit.

Hard to call off-hand. I'd agree with you a non-aggressive kill strategy is worth paying attention to, it's just also affected/modulated by the game conditions.

-

Anyway. Tired, sleep-deprived thoughts (I'll come back later to do the messages but wanted to at least take stock of what I now believe(d) :

Probably Village:

<Fura, Newt, Hoid, Doc>

Unsure:

<Argenti (lean V but not sure), Lotus>

Relook:

<TOW, Storm, ACE>

If I forgot anyone, they immediately go into relook. I'm going to vote on TOW for the moment because I distrust how much this player has disappeared for me (which might be a me problem.)

@DrakeMarshall: Are TOW or ACE in trouble for inactivity, in terms of filter?

Hey Argenti! I see you're in the thread. I'd love to get some of your thoughts on the game so far. It can be anything but I'd love for it to come with a vote. You've had several votes on you a few days in a row and almost got executed yesterday.

Argenti for now

There isn't really an official filter in these rules but yeah it's on my radar

I messaged ACE at rollover and he recently requested to drop out

ThatOneWorldhopper has been active a little more recently than ACE but didn't post in the thread on Day 3 and hopefully will speak up a little today

I'm not sure that there's a pinch-hitter lined up to step in (what's the world coming to when the backups need backups /lh) but I can ask around. Failing that people who can't continue playing will be taken out of the game, maybe with some sort of small consolation benefit assigned to the team who lost a member.

Actually speaking of TOW:

Quote

Coder: said that KSOHS trusted him, but could just be maneuvering (I don't know how much I believe in Coder's manipulative abilities :P )

So.... I missed this when it was posted, but I bet someone didn't and is probably explains why someone was putting the kill on Coder. I'm somewhat surprised by Kas/Doc/Me being still alive if we are all ISB. Booknewt has been super active in thread as well though I could see people avoiding killing them due to the apperant overlap in message info yesterday. That tells me that whoever submitted this kill is carefully going through the thread... which... I already think narrows down suspects quite a lot xD. Of course, it could also be a kill submitted by TOW.

Below is my attempt to analyze my dead drops:

Spoiler

Drops D2 & D4:

I think the above information could up with my profile of whoever is the ISB Traitor/Killer. Even worth noting that with the change of signature from Traitor to Killer they may be claiming responsibility for a Stink/Exp kill as well. This is made more likely again based on how a Stink kill still is most likely with 1-2 inactive or semi-active players and made further more likely by Dive defending STINK in thread while saying they had a PM (probably still didn't know each other were evil but could have). The fact that these messages heavily reference Andor and Prequals it seems they are a fan (although seriously, who in this game isn't...). Personally I thought the choice of planets in the first message, from Tatooine to Kamino, referenced our players via the first letters of the words/names. T to K probably would refer to TwinStorm to Kas, 1 to 16, though I've heard some people saying I'm reading too much into it and I may be. Technically it could also refer to players 1-6 or 9-16 though I find this far less likely. This is a kind of message I have seen before in SE... Although, with it being inclusive of the entire player base and the lack of apparent utilitarian message in either message, the focus seems to be more on chilling and having fun as evil and not a huge urgency in finding other evils.

Frankly, it seems to me Doc fits this profile best out of living players though I don't think I want to vote on them today.

Drop D3:

At this point I think it's highly likely that Dive send out this one to Lotus and myself. He mentioned getting the D2 planets drop which I'm inclined to believe.

The "Sign Off" message from D2 that I think Kas organized info best in this post (not comprehensive)

That's the same as the planets one right? It's worth Noting that Kas and I got both that and this one seemingly by the same person. Kas, was you message yesterday in the same style as this? Regardless, POE I think your message yesterday would be most likely be from the ISB Killer even if the style is different.

Ok this was my attempt to analyze these messages... I think I'm going to go back to my usual player analysis for further posts cause this was hard lol
