I was initially put off by the long time span and complicated rules (plus I’ve never played anything Zelda related) but K can give it a try if I have time to prepare

Definitely understand where you're coming from on the length. I hope the game is balanced, but if it helps, there is always a chance of a clean sweep ending it in 9 cycles instead of 12

If you have any questions about the rules I can help clarify them. To put it simply, it boils down to the Village needing to vote out 1 Elim from 2 chances on the first loop, and 2 Elims out of 3 chances for each loop after, in order to win a Mask. Elims play the same as usual, trying to blend and deceive. Since there are no flips, you'll have to judge who's innocent and guilty based on which team gets the Mask at the end of every Loop. The power mechanics are just there to encourage activity, strategy, and game progression, so really you can get as much out of the game as you want to put in.

The video game itself is a classic, definitely recommend playing or watching a good playthrough of it for your own enjoyment beyond context for the game. If not, I will be able to help guide you through the setting

When trying to do analysis in character, it's really difficult if one only has one character, so, yes, they will be showing up periodically. Yuto Itto is a Zora, and a Postal Inspector in Training. Connor Burrows is a Terminian Entomologist who contacted the Postal Inspectors about the missing postman, and has been hired as Niall and Yuto's guide to the region, as he's a native, unlike Yuto and Niall.

I do wonder why people aren't signing up. Is it just too complicated of a game? is it the Flavor putting people off?

I think it's probably a combination of an obscure non-Sanderson and a scary table.

I could find a better way to present the data haha, I think it might look scary when really it's a very simple game. Village just has to exe 2 elims every Loop or they lose the Boss Mask. Elims have to survive. Activity will get each side powers that can help them catch up or clutch.

Could also be the game length sadly. I'm not exactly expecting people to write novels with their activity, but setting aside a whole month does seem like a lot, even if that is often the case with LGs (at least, for those who survive until the end game)

If we go another week or so I could maybe create a more standard ruleset (probably my Tress game) and save this one for the future

Hey so I am about to post the sign ups for my back up game. TBH I am perfectly happy to keep these sign ups open until enough people can play and start it whenever, or the mods can just lock the thread until a game needs to be run again and no one else is able. I personally am still really excited to run this one but sometimes timing doesn't work out and that's okay too.

Hello. I have been asked to reopen these sign ups for the next LG. We are looking at a Wednesday, February 18th @ 10-11 PM EST start time if we can manage to get the numbers. Otherwise I can push back a week or further, although if there is not enough interest, we probably don't want an infinite delay.

Extra Notes:

Hm okay I’m mildly intimidated by this but that’s fine, I have never played Zelda (unfortunately) but that’s also fine

I shall be signing up as Amora, a traveler who accidentally got herself stuck here due to unforeseen circumstances (by which I mean she was too broke to keep paying for whatever form of transport brought her here and seems to best fit with the world) and is now making the best of it by exploring this lovely new town she never meant to come to!
