The board was so large that it was difficult to see much of anything, let alone identify the pieces, but… was that a horse neighing? When she vocalized this thought, the piece somewhere off to her right shouted back, “No, of course not! That was a loyal Knight who fell most bravely in battle. Do not insult such a faithful creature by calling it a horse! What sort of wretched piece are you, to not even have that much respect?” “I’m not a piece at all!” she yelled back through the fog. “What’s a nahtapeesatahl?” the piece yelled. “No, I’m not a piece!
