  1. Omg I wish I could read the Cosmere fresh for a first time again! Welcome aboard! I am sure you will love it here, it is perhaps the most welcoming fan bases you will ever come across Honestly I didn’t connect with all of the secret projects, it’s your personal preference. I’ve enjoyed some books and couldn’t finish others but I’ve read everything cosmere related and I have no intention of missing anything haha
  2. This is amazing stuff guys. I’ve always thought Kelsier was a a psychopath too. It is such a great topic for Brandon to take on, how him being so psychopathic served Mistborn era 1 so well but when it’s not channeled for a ‘benign’ purpose how dangerous it is for other characters and worlds. I’ve always thought becoming a Cognative shadow and how that would affect their psyche. Kelsier’s main purpose in life is to ‘survive’. I think passing on is something he is simply unable to do now so he clings to life. Using investiture to fuel other magic systems is something or even transferring it from planet to planet is something highly sought after. Simply becoming rich is not something that could motivate characters like Mraize, K or other Cosmere high rollers. But being able to move pure investiture from Roshar to other systems would make them very important in the wider Cosmere. I’ll say it again: COSMERE ARMS RACE
  3. I’m completely baffled about what the goal of the Ghostbloods is. K seems to want to explore the Cosmere and leave Scadrial, the transfer of investiture off/between worlds. I think getting rich is not their primary concern but getting power and influence is something they’d be interested in. We’ve seen a few organisations who span the Cosmere, but I do not think we’ve seen them as of yet. Perhaps there is a behind the scenes arms race going on and they want to position themselves to influence it. The Ghostbloods seemed very cutthroat to me and I get the impression that the rather bloodthirsty Rosharan sect is operating without K’s direct oversight and that he wouldn’t particularly approve of some of their methods. I think K became a Cognative shadow because he died, he wanted to regain physical form to act directly. I don’t think all the Ghostbloods want to become cognative shadows but being immortal (as is possible In the cosmere) would be one hell of a recruiting point.
  4. I was too. Congrats for lasting longer than I did
  5. I see an overdose of quadrovella in my near future. He is gradually becoming a master troll.
  6. Stormlight Archive is simply head and shoulders above the rest, In my humble opinion. I read it the day it came out because the cover looked so cool. It was the first fantasy book that really rocked my world. I went in blind not knowing how my life was going to change. Every single line in it seems to have some quadruple meanings and layers of depth. Warbreaker deserves an honourable mention, it is one of the first Cosmere books I read and holds a special place in my heart, I'd rank it over Mistborn if only Era 2 didn't kick so much ass.
  7. I agree with this completely. (Mistborn Era 1 & 2 spoilers)
  8. I honestly think her mind is almost completely been corrupted by her Shard. We saw how flawed Ruin, Preservation and Odium became in regards to simply going along with the flow of their Shard. I think her intent was to create a Shard she could influence, shape and train for the War of The God's that is apparently coming. She is sentient enough to see the weakness of Rayse in that the discontent between him and his Shard gave her an opening but I think she grossly underestimated Taravangian, maybe the boon and curse she gave him will help balance out the Odium-ness(?) but I don't think she should take her eyes off her new student.
  9. That's the last time I look at a Website URL. <_<

      Szeth's Facepalm

What do you mean? It's just my website :ph34r::ph34r:

  10. https://www.brandonsanderson.com/ Bottom of the page, enter your name and email bro and submit it
  11. Hmmmmm I do not think it would be possible. I think it is hypothetically possible with the collusion of the individua but not without their knowledge. What makes me unsure is what @Dunkum said about there being a limitation for Kandra mass. I don't think a Kandra could shed off some of their mass to make it easier. For example if the Kandra was imitating the forearm and hand of an amputee could you imagine the logistics of getting the Kandra to react to the ligaments or dealing with blood flow? I think the theory is cool though, it gives me creepy anime Parasyte vibes. Like looking at your palm and an eye opens
  12. Brandons been incredibly tightlipped on dawnshards all we really know about them is that they pre date the shattering and they are what Adonalsium used to create all things. The individuals who shattered Adonalsium used the dawnshards to achieve the shattering and Adonalsium used the 4 Dawnshards to create all things. The individuals who were behind it had different motivations ranging from a desire for power and (more interesting) a belief in the necessity of the action. I always assumed what was killing Yolen was either Adonalsium itself or the force opposing it because Dawnshards are relatively useless on their own. I think it makes sense for there to be a limited number of Dawnshards, they're too powerful and they are absolute in their power, this would be undermined if there were multiplemversions of the same Dawnshard. I don't personally see the need for multiple Dawnshards with the same intent. I think the difference between Shards is that they are an intent like the make up of a person, removed from the others that balance them out. Dawnshards are commands and are enhancers to magnify power.
  13. I think Dalinar will become the new Honor. He'll summon all the scattered power of the Honor shard and I think his connection to the stormfather will be the 'connection' required. Given the relationship between Mr T and Dalinar it will be an interesting dynamic between Odium and Honor. I think Kaladin will die heroically in an awesome blaze of glory and will become a legendary figure for the down trodden, soldiers and the mentally ill. He'll be referenced in the Cosmere for generations. Shallan and Adolin will travel the Cosmere, with Renarin becoming the new ruler of Dalinars Kingdom. That's all I got. ps Kaladin's brother and Elhokar's son will become friends.
  14. I think he is crazy and crazy scary. I don't think he'd be a saviour but he'd be incredibly dangerous to the SA characters and Roshar. He is skilled, experienced but he's also insane. He's going to be a major hinderance or viable threat until he is healed. I am curious with Kaladin and Bridge four actively trying to combat mental illnesses in people what their attitude will be in trying to help Ishi recover from a magical disease.
  15. When I first started reading Stormlight I always thought Lirin may have been an early Radiant because of the scattered Radiants being hunted by 'Darkness' showing they were repopulating away from the main cast. I know this isn't true but I think he's got great potential to be a KR. Maybe an Edgedancer given his preference for healing and treating everybody. Also given how he changed during ROW he might not be combative but he might be less reticent to fight if it came to it.
  16. I am going out on a whim here but I always took it as a nod to the Wheel of Time series. There are a number of unfinished statues spotted around Randland
  17. I think Brandon should have a role similar to Cabbage guy from Avatar
  18. I think because T was ‘tainted’ by the old magic pre ascension it’s a gray area and it affects the holder, not the shard itself. Brandon has only said ‘RAFO’ so far but I think it’s possible
  19. You raise some great points OP, I won't lie I particularly wanted Kaladin to pick up the Honor shard because I wanted him to have a larger role within the Cosmere but it is far more likely that Dalinar will pick it up. I think Taradium (It will catch on) will be far craftier than Rayse because Rayse had millennia of being subsumed by the shard Odium. I think it will make him far more dangerous due to the fact he will be far more himself than Rayse was. Cultivation is suffering from the same issues as are many of the other older shards of being overwhelmed by their respective shards. This will be Cultivations blind spot, she will be teaching Taradium and all the while he will be planning on getting rid of her. The thing I am most curious about Taradium is that he was near stupid/empathetic when he took on the shard and was nearly subsumed by it and he found it difficult to control when he becomes super smart or merely intelligent will he be more able to control it? I’m a parallel to when he was mortal? Adolin will develop a new form of surge binding or at least get access to it via a different method than what is standard.
  20. The Way of Knights: Oh Boy
  21. "You think this is the first time someone has tried to kill me, child? I’ve survived burnings and beheadings. I’ve been stabbed and sliced, crushed and dismembered. I was even flayed once, near the beginning." - Lord Ruler "Honor is dead, but I'll do what I can." - The Big Man "Sometimes a hypocrite is nothing more than a man in the process of changing" - Dalinar
  22. I’d highly recommend ‘the first Law’ book series by Joe Abercrombie. There is currently a trilogy, 3 stands alones, an anthology and a sequel trilogy the magic system is soft (unlike Sandersons) and he series is grimdark Nether the less I thoroughly enjoyed it
