  1. To unvote, put the player's name in bold green, then just vote on a new player as normal. I'm still happy with my vote on Stick, and I don't really think much has changed since I placed it. Except apparently TJ isn't happy with me being happy to switch onto him. I'm happy to chat with folks in PMs, and will probably send out 1-2 during the night.
  2. Revenge for LG 100 . But honestly I've just never been good at reading her, and it's D1 so whatever is fine.
  3. I've sworn off poke votes. I'm happy to see Stick dead, though I think I'd be willing to switch onto TJ as well. Fura was nice enough to PM me, so I don't think I'll be hopping on your train.
  4. Yeah, Mid Range games have 48-hour cycles, and in this game they are split into 24/24 day/night. Other MR games don't split into day/night. Long Games are typically 48/24 and QF games are just 24 hour cycles with no split. This is in the "Game Formats" section of the rules thread.
  5. The next game will be the Anniversary Game. I'm kinda hoping to play, so if anyone is interested in being a GM/co-GM, please let me know. The game will be an Anonymous game, so at least one of the GMs needs to meet the qualifications (has run an AN before or GM'd at least 5 games)
  6. On a related note, we need to be a bit careful. I think folks are used to playing Tyrian rules as a LG, but this is a MR. That means we have 9 hours left to settle our votes. @DrakeMarshall can you get the rollover time in the writeup?
  7. I was the Lord of Luck and someone decided to send some balefire my way N1. I didn’t really need to ask, because Hoid just always gives off village vibes.
  8. Poking is a somewhat vague term. Strictly speaking, a “poke vote” is a vote you place on someone who you want to hear from, with the implication that you will unvote once they post. But it could also refer to any early-game vote that is placed without much reasoning. “Derp clear” isn’t a standard term, but if you assume that the eliminator team is familiar with how their own rules work, it would follow that someone who doesn’t know the elim team rules is a villager. As pointed out, this is pretty easy to fake, and a lot of elims don’t read up on the rules more than villagers. *Thw-* … *Thw-* … Hmm. It appears you are, in fact, immune to thwacking. Thug Jo confirmed. @Stick. I’m not sure if you’ve played with Hoid Slayer before, but in my experience he exudes village energy even when he’s elim (much to my chagrin in the last game I played). I’ll vote on Stick. Mostly out of revenge for LG100.
  9. Just waiting on Drake to post signups.
  10. Done. You don't need to get approval for rules until your turn comes around, so you've got plenty of time.
  11. Even if you have voting done through PMs, the village can just say who they are voting for in the thread. Some of your ideas might work better in a blackout game, where some of the rules are kept secret. Edit: @DrakeMarshall, Aeoryi doesn't want the game, so you can take it.
  12. I'd prefer not to run my game right now, but I am ready if nobody before me can take it. I pinged Aeoryi, if I don't hear anything in a day or so then you should take the slot.
  13. The night execution sounds like a neat idea! Are you thinking that there would still be an elim kill during the night as well? If so, make sure you account for the lack of control this will give to the elims. Perhaps another implementation would be to have the weighting for the exe alternate between even and odd cycles. I would caution you against mechanics that can be worked around with nothing but extra effort from players. For example, rather than having a hidden VC, it's probably better to have a "pre-weight" VC or something so players don't have to work as hard to keep track of things. Similarly, I don't think a post editing mechanic would be very good, since players could work around it in a variety of ways that would just make extra work for everyone. Another potential issue is that our games these days are in the 10-12 player range, so adding an extra kill every cycle will mean that things won't last too long. There are of course a few ways to deal with this. If you get things fleshed out more then I'd suggest using one of the recent LG rule docs as a template and writing everything out in detail.
  14. Sure. Here's a link to the rules. I'll take any feedback you have into consideration.
  15. @Archer, @Aeoryi, @DrakeMarshall, any of you interested in running the next MR? After them I'm next up on the list, but my game needs a bit of workshopping I think. Right now there isn't enough player feedback, and it might struggle with the current player counts we've been getting. Edit: Actually, the rules might be ready to go. Apparently I've already added a patch. And honestly the rules as written should work with 9+ players, though I think they will become exponentially more fun as the count increases. Done. I put you down for another LG, but for now I'm not allowing duplicate signups.
  16. This should really be the aftermath thread, no? It certainly shouldn’t be Night 3.
  17. If you want to play but think your activity will be low, I’d suggest communicating with everyone else in the game roughly when and how much you can post. This is a team game at some level, and it can be unfun when you need someone to vote with you or send in an action but they don’t show up. And I’d say if you can’t at least check in once every 24 hours for the majority of the game it would be better to sign up as a spectator to get a feel for things. But don’t let not knowing the rules get in your way! I think even the long-time players like me don’t fully understand the specific rules for games we play until, after they start . My post up above has a link to the rules and etiquette thread (also pinned in the subforum), which I’d suggest skimming at some point.
  18. Welcome! When you have a bit of time, please check out our rules thread. You don’t really need to engage in the flavor of our games if you don’t want to, but there will likely be a few people that do some role-playing on top of the gameplay. I’m the impartial mod, so if you have any concerns during the game don’t hesitate to message me. Also, good luck on the AMCS! I had fun with it when I was younger, though I never really did any special studying/prep outside of math club.
  19. You can also just message me or one of the other mods on the Shard. It’s not that the committee has changed, it’s that there are 2 separate roles: committee member and subforum moderator. But both roles can give approval to games and should be included in approval PMs. I can see past messages. Though I’ve kinda given my thoughts on that game already. This discussion is a bit off topic though, so if you have anything further to add we can move it to that game approval PM or another PM.
  20. It's not just you, though we've picked up a bit of speed since this time a year ago, I'd say. The 2 games at once thing was actually strongly linked to the player count; if the current LG has 3 weeks left and you're dead, it's nice to be able to play a QF in the meantime. If you have ideas for the community, feel free to post them in the "feedback and suggestions" channel on the discord server. Also, I'll bet we hit 20 players for the Anniversary Game this year, between all the new folks we've had along with some returning players. By the way, the committee also includes the current moderators (most notably myself, so feel free to add me to that PM). Since games only need 2 approvals to be run, usually between myself, Kas, and TUM things get though fairly quickly.
