  1. It's funny--the first place I checked was the Gentleman Stationer's store, as his review helped convince me to try it, but then I checked JetPens where it was literally half the price. So, that was a no-brainer at least. (I'd like to get some in a notebook someday, but that is more expensive than a pad and I have plenty other notebooks to use first. ) I mostly tried it 'cause I needed a Pilot G2-size refill for another pen, but didn't want to use the actual G2. I'd heard good things about the Juice Up, and it had been a while since I tried an ultra-fine gel pen.
  2. I can see the stained glass from the outside and on that basis alone, I think it's one of the prettiest temples. (Saratoga Springs is also up there.)
  3. Looks like a successful match. Good luck with the tuning!
  4. I have yet to actually set foot in the temple itself. I missed the open house, and the dedication was broadcast to stake centers. I can't wait to actually go, though.
  5. Got to attend the Orem temple dedication on Sunday. It was pretty amazing.
  6. Are they Pilot branded nibs, or others that happen to fit? I'm curious to see your experience with them. My Metro is a very picky writer in general, and I'm debating whether to try and save it or just let it move on. I dunno about that--Life Bank Paper, the kind I got and favorably reviewed by the Pen Addict and the Gentleman Stationer, handles them nearly on par with Tomoe River, whether it's intended or not.
  7. I actually really, really loved TROS, but will readily admit "Somehow, Palpatine returned" is one of the dumbest lines ever written. I'm reading a few different things, bouncing between them. Uzumaki by Junji Ito, a YA novel I can't tell if I like or not, and Isolate by L. E. Modesitt, Jr. Someone tell me to get off the internet and go finish them.
  8. Has anyone here tried bank paper? I just got some with a JetPens order last week, along with some other supplies, and was surprised at how much I enjoy it. The other supplies were Platinum blue-black cartridges, some actual, proper, usable silicone grease, and a Pilot Juice Up to get me over the threshold for free shipping. (It's a fantastic pen, btw)
  9. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/liahona/2024/01/06-slow-reading-seeing-the-savior-in-the-scriptures?lang=eng Great article about a way one might study the Book of Mormon, instead of merely reading it.
  10. On these forums? Bands of Mourning. But that is probably just the context in which I read it. At church, I'd likely think Book of Mormon.
  11. I enjoyed Artemis, but would still rank it the least of the three.
  12. Every time I visit the home ward I'm taken aback by all the little gremlins passing the sacrament. I love to see it, but it's very much not what I'm used to. (Singles wards have ruined me on the sacrament experience, tbh)
  13. Happy birthday!

  15. Expiring store vouchers are exactly why I have a bottle of Sailor Utah winging its way to me right now. Glad you got what you wanted!
  16. Anyone get any goodies for Christmas? I got a TWSBI Kai and a bottle of Writer's Blood. The fine nib is true to size, which means the color doesn't come through in photos as well (not that I didn't try; see my status updates for a writing sample), but it's a great writer.
  17. This is probably my favorite song.

Written with a TWSBI Kai (fine nib) and Diamine Writer's Blood, both of which were Christmas presents.

Great choices! How do you find the wetness of Writer's Blood?

@Kasimir I haven't tried it with different nibs so I can't categorically say, but It seems to be fairly wet! At any rate it's very well-behaved in the fine nib.

  18. Merry Christmas, everyone! :D

Can I just say my sister is amazing? She made me this, and I think it's my favorite gift:

      She is amazing ❤️

My mom got me something similar and it's one of my favorites :D

  19. Can anyone tell me why choral arrangers seem to all think that basses are actually tenors?

  20. I enjoy the original, but this cover is amazing. Love these guys.
  21. Oh, my bad! That one's lovely! I saw a nice amber one too, but it's going for about the same as a new one, and I'm not sure it'll still be around in a couple months. (Also it's not available in M, which is what I'd like.) I actually have the adapter and a vintage nib already, so really the Estie should be top priority for me. I probably should too, tbh. If only the box didn't matter so much for reselling. What kind? I've been looking at the Kakimori one, if not for myself then as a gift.
