  1. Are they Pilot branded nibs, or others that happen to fit? I'm curious to see your experience with them. My Metro is a very picky writer in general, and I'm debating whether to try and save it or just let it move on. I dunno about that--Life Bank Paper, the kind I got and favorably reviewed by the Pen Addict and the Gentleman Stationer, handles them nearly on par with Tomoe River, whether it's intended or not.
  2. I actually really, really loved TROS, but will readily admit "Somehow, Palpatine returned" is one of the dumbest lines ever written. I'm reading a few different things, bouncing between them. Uzumaki by Junji Ito, a YA novel I can't tell if I like or not, and Isolate by L. E. Modesitt, Jr. Someone tell me to get off the internet and go finish them.
  3. Has anyone here tried bank paper? I just got some with a JetPens order last week, along with some other supplies, and was surprised at how much I enjoy it. The other supplies were Platinum blue-black cartridges, some actual, proper, usable silicone grease, and a Pilot Juice Up to get me over the threshold for free shipping. (It's a fantastic pen, btw)
  4. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/liahona/2024/01/06-slow-reading-seeing-the-savior-in-the-scriptures?lang=eng Great article about a way one might study the Book of Mormon, instead of merely reading it.
  5. On these forums? Bands of Mourning. But that is probably just the context in which I read it. At church, I'd likely think Book of Mormon.
  6. I enjoyed Artemis, but would still rank it the least of the three.
  7. Every time I visit the home ward I'm taken aback by all the little gremlins passing the sacrament. I love to see it, but it's very much not what I'm used to. (Singles wards have ruined me on the sacrament experience, tbh)
  8. Happy birthday!

  9. Happy birthday!

  10. Expiring store vouchers are exactly why I have a bottle of Sailor Utah winging its way to me right now. Glad you got what you wanted!
  11. Anyone get any goodies for Christmas? I got a TWSBI Kai and a bottle of Writer's Blood. The fine nib is true to size, which means the color doesn't come through in photos as well (not that I didn't try; see my status updates for a writing sample), but it's a great writer.
  12. This is probably my favorite song.

Written with a TWSBI Kai (fine nib) and Diamine Writer's Blood, both of which were Christmas presents.

Great choices! How do you find the wetness of Writer's Blood?

@Kasimir I haven't tried it with different nibs so I can't categorically say, but It seems to be fairly wet! At any rate it's very well-behaved in the fine nib.

  13. Merry Christmas, everyone! :D

Can I just say my sister is amazing? She made me this, and I think it's my favorite gift:

      She is amazing ❤️

My mom got me something similar and it's one of my favorites :D

  14. Can anyone tell me why choral arrangers seem to all think that basses are actually tenors?

  15. I enjoy the original, but this cover is amazing. Love these guys.
  16. Oh, my bad! That one's lovely! I saw a nice amber one too, but it's going for about the same as a new one, and I'm not sure it'll still be around in a couple months. (Also it's not available in M, which is what I'd like.) I actually have the adapter and a vintage nib already, so really the Estie should be top priority for me. I probably should too, tbh. If only the box didn't matter so much for reselling. What kind? I've been looking at the Kakimori one, if not for myself then as a gift.
  17. If a special edition shows up (either new release or on eBay) between now and then, possibly that, but I quite like the look of the basic maroon one. In terms of other pens on my list, a Monoc nib from Ian Schon and an Esterbrook Estie are top priority. Not to say it isn't worth it; that thing looks amazing. But boy was that some sticker shock! (In all fairness the Monoc gave me the same reaction at fist. )
  18. Elder Patrick Kearon is the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles! I'm so unbelievably happy about this. His talk last year is one of my favorites. And it turns out, I remember his first Conference talk very well--I'd just forgotten it was him!
  19. The things I've heard are more along the lines of "Not perfect" rather than "Actively bad", so we'll see. I'm a ways off yet. That pen is gorgeous...and terrifyingly expensive.
  20. That's another good one! As much as I do love the new design, the old one was iconic. Top of the list for new pens next year is a Pro Gear Realo, and I'm kinda hoping it'll be one that still has the old nib design.
  21. The Mt. Fuji outline, the heart-shaped breather hole, and the fancy lettering for #3776. I'm less a fan of the Platinum logo, but that's neither here nor there. I'm becoming more and more okay with larger nib sizes. It used to be Fine was the largest I would consider getting, but now I'm enjoying some larger sizes.
