  1. Actual footage of me cleaning attempting to clean stainless steel restroom partitions:

  2. Finally saw Kpop Demon Hunters! I would have seen it earlier, but for the fact that my sister would've killed me if I had watched it without her. Anyways, I loved it!

      AHHHHHHHHH YESSSS

      IT’S SO GOOD

      SO GOOD

  3. Ever-so-slowly learning the (unofficial) national hymn, God of Our Fathers (also currently hymn #78). It's a shame we don't sing it in church more often--I think the fanfares scare people off.
  4. How to determine the mangaka's favorite character: She has the best character arc He routinely draws her rear end in great detail (clothed, it’s not that kind of series) He names her after Jesus I mean, she's my favorite too, so good job? I guess?
  5. I was at the 5000th Music & the Spoken Word today! I had to get up earlier than usual and I slept for basically the rest of the day, but it was so worth it.
  6. Here's a poem from that book I mentioned a few SUs ago, written with J. Herbin Poussière de Lune in a Platinum 3776 Shiun, broad nib.

To My Daughter by Bayard Taylor

  7. The US Coast Guard has the best march of all of them, fight me

  8. @Mag Sorry I'm late to the conversation, but I wanted to offer my support and encouragement as well. (Looks like everyone else beat me to the advice, but I'm still a willing ear.) You'll be in my prayers!
  9. During work yesterday, I discovered that the green room in the back had a piano, so I spent my break playing it. (I love being the only person around sometimes.)

You only get one verse, ‘cause I get performance jitters.

      Thank you!

      10/10 can recommend. Excellent feeling.

I guess I have a whistle, but that’s not exactly music

oooo my other job has a piano! but I don’t play piano and it’s very creepy

  10. I was very impressed by Manti when I went to the open house. It's probably the top contender for favorite that I've actually been to. I do quite like Provo City Center--I was struck by its use of dark wood instead of start white everything. As my uncle said, "It actually feels like God's living room." (Saratoga Springs and Orem are some of my other favorite modern ones.)
  11. 🎵 Brain implosion energy, 10,000g of pure caffeine, 'cause you can't overthink if your heart stops! 🎵

  12. Templars is great! I also love Soldier of Heaven, 82nd All the Way, The Red Baron, and Resist and Bite.
  13. Randomly flipping through an old (and I mean old: printed in 1879) poetry book and moving myself almost to tears.

They really don’t make them like they used to.

  14. Slowly becoming a Sabaton fan. I enjoy metal in theory, it's just hard to find any that doesn't set my teeth on edge. (The only other metal I've found so far that I actually like is the Dynazty album The Dark Delight, which is a fantastic mood-lifter for when I hate everything.)
  15. Well, I don't believe we are God's marionettes. Everyone is an agent unto themselves, and some people, as they say, just want to watch the world burn. I think that every experience we have can be sanctified to our good, and that inasmuch as there is a reason it's about putting your trust in God. (D&C 122, the entire story of Job, Helaman 5:12) Either way, that sounds like a truly awful situation. You'll be in my prayers.
  16. Happy birthday!

      :oo

      out in the wild!

  18. Working on a Sunday is meh, but being able to listen to a Tabernacle organist practice while I work more than makes up for it.

  19. Had to attend a different ward from the usual one today, as I have work. I'm glad I did, though, because the sacrament service today was entirely hymns suggested by the congregation, something I've been a part of a few times and I love! (Some pretty obscure hymns in the mix, too.) Also Sunday school was great, which is (sadly) a rare occurrence for me. The Spirit was there and the teacher was engaging and I didn't fall asleep!
  20. LLMs as a tool for conversational brainstorming is game-changing. Claude, you're my new hero.

(It hopefully goes without saying that I'm not using it to do any of the actual creative work. That would be dumb.)

  21. Show I was watching last night did the thing where I went “I’ll just watch one more episode before bed!” and then crap hit the fan.

I’m mostly annoyed for a different reason, though: I had been spoiled about these events some time ago, so it didn’t have quite the same impact it otherwise would’ve. <_<

  22. The kind of depression where you're not sad, or empty, you just don't care about anything anymore. I'm still happy. I still enjoy things. I just have zero motivation to seek them out or see them through.

I still remember reading about executive dysfunction for the first time and how it hit uncomfortably close to home.

Like with so many things in my life, I don't actually feel bad, which is the weird thing. I suppose I'm prone to occasional bouts of angst, but on the whole it's more like I'm stuck on a train winding through a beautiful countryside, never getting off despite the nagging feeling that we're accelerating towards a collapsed bridge.

I really do appreciate your response, though. 🫂

  23. Thought Mission: Impossible 8 was pretty good.
