  1. Makes enough sense to me, we've only seen it being used twice throughout seven books, and both times seemed to have the user experience two different sets of memories at once, which is very disorientating, Using F-Copper to gather more information from your own Gold Shadows seems like a pretty novel use, also useful for getting past how emotionally distressing it tends to be, just store the memory of you doing it away until you need it. Of course, there are likely to be limits on what kind of info you could gleam from them, since both times it showed a different self that diverged some time ago with no actual control over it. Maybe becoming a Gold Savant would let you control what type of past you see? Like if you were at cross-roads, then picked a path, you could use A-Gold to see what the other paths could have been like? Then store away the experiences in your Coppermind. A combination that if you made a story about it, it would have you examine your every choice, thinking over what you did and could have done, someone very heavily stuck in the past. The definition of introspective.
  2. What if Sazed died and Kelsier took both powers to become Discord? I had an idea for a story based on this, it would involve Scadrial still being mostly saved by Kelsier, now Discord, but the entire continent being shattered into a huge archipelago and life being significantly harder than with Harmony. More details in a Spoiler to not clog up this thread.
  3. To be fair, using Connection to understand languages seems to be the most basic application of it. I'd personally see it as a corruption of Adonalsium's Magic System, since I'm pretty sure the Singers were changing forms before Honor and Cultivation were around. They were designed by Adonalsium along with the entirety of Roshar. Sorry for nitpicking but I do fully agree with you on your point of Regal's not lining up with Surgebinding, we've never seen a Radiant shoot lightning form their hands after all. Also a few WOBs.
  4. I mean, BAM started her own Desolation. The kind of event that leads to mass casualties on both sides. That doesn't really mark her as 'good'. Heck, in the preview chapters, Kelek was worried that if she was free then she'd just join up with Odium and make things worse. Maybe she'll disagree with the change in management, but I highly doubt that BAM would be anything less than hostile towards the Radiants, they imprisoned her after all and as the 'Voidbringer Princess' who led armies she's certainly caused many human deaths. Maybe BAM will join up with the Listeners but even that's a stretch, their whole culture was started by the abandonment of the Forms of Power after all, being free and not being bossed around by hateful gods. Though if my time reading the Cosmere has taught me anything, it's that there's always another secret. She's been described as 'the one who could rival Him', 'Him' being Odium. So maybe after TOdium pulls the rug out from our heroes, they'll reveal Taravangian and BAM along with disgruntled Fused who don't like being bossed around by a human will start some kind of Voidbringer civil war, which will buy our heroes some valuable time to pick themselves up.
  5. It's a trend, you're way too quick. Anyway, I wonder what some of these new types of Feruchemical-ish Hemalurgic Constructs would look like. I have a few ideas. 1: Accelers - 4 Spikes that grant enhanced speed, their body becomes thinner and taller, their skin becomes an angry shade of red due to increased blood flow, they move quickly enough that they appear almost like a blur, with heightened reflexes making them difficult to hit. Their stamina isn't as great as a Koloss so they cannot keep up their speed for prolonged periods of time. 2: Boilers - 4 Spikes that grant far greater body temperature, they are painful to touch with their average body temperature being over 150 degrees, they are usually steaming and require a much greater amount of food and water than normal. Resistant to their own high temperatures but not fully immune, requiring they occasionally cool themselves or suffer from heat stroke. 3: Puffers - 4 Spikes that steal Breath, their torsos are expanded due to massively oversized lungs, they can breathe in a very large amount of air and scream loudly enough to cause a sharp pain in the ears to anyone too close. Their blood is hyperoxygenated, which provides them with greater stamina than even a Koloss, though no real strength increase. And that's all I've got for now.
  6. Ehh, more like it steals memorization. The Copper Blessings don't give the Kandra like TenSoon any other memories from the donors. Don't worry I was under that misconception too. Edit Dang it I got alder'd.
  7. Just a quick note: The Lost Metal described the size of the spikes the Set uses. TLM Chapter 8 So they can be decently small, unlike the railroad spikes used by the Steel Inquisitors, which I believe to be mostly for intimidation. Anyway, I do really hope it is possible to steal stuff like speed because that would be awesome. Also if H-Speed would work like F-Steel speed, it might speed up an allomancer's burn speed which would strength their powers. It would probably have to be god metal alloys that steal other attributes, like maybe an Iron/Atium alloy steals speed or something. It would be interesting. Edit: Oh yeah also the Spikes can be as small as an ear stud and still work fine, Vin's sure did.
  8. I'm starting to wonder if someone's memory was ever erased by a Decayform before and we just didn't know?
  9. Eh, it is what it is. A very common trend that has been throughout the books. Like Syl and Pattern in TWoK, then Timbre and the Stormfather in WoR, then Odium and Sja-Anat in Oathbringer.
  10. An Epigraph from HoA talks on this. The Hero of Ages Chapter 74 Epigraph So it seems to be mostly convenience, though I think Preservation's reasons might differ, after all we still don't know the exact reason why Vin was able to draw upon the Mists.
  11. Well whatever it is, it's called an advanced skill so it's probably not just the basic 'Send self through Mini-Perpendicularity' part of the Transportation Surge. Chances are it's the second one, using Transportation to send multiple people instead of just yourself. I do wonder just how game-breaking it would be to just shove someone through an 'Elsegate' into Shadesmar without going in yourself? Since unless they can fly or you make the gate above water they're probably going to drown in the sea of beads.
  12. That, is something I think links some very strange concepts together. We know that there are very few, if any, Spren in Shinovar. We know that Szeth learned about the return of the Voidbringers from a 'voice' that he calls similar to Nightblood's. Now Kaladin is hearing a warning from the 'Wind' that may be calling him to Shinovar, since we know that is where Kaladin is going. We also know that the Dawnsingers could use Cohesion in some fashion by talking to the stone or something (It's been a while since I read ROW so I don't quite remember the details). There is something very strange about the Stone and Winds that we currently do not understand, something that we are definitely going to learn about in this book.
  13. Maybe you'll need to Invest yourself with Ruin's power somehow to corrode your soul enough? Perhaps with that Black Mist that represents Ruin. Wouldn't be healthy in the slightest but if one was looking to make some Steel Inquisitors then that might be the way to go.
  14. It seems that way, the Lightspren haven't forgiven humans about the Recreance, though with the truth of it being a mutual decision instead of a betrayal that might change later on. Though odds are high that Lightspren will be primarily bonding Parshendi from now on, since they are a people that has sacrificed much for the sake of being free, if they weren't worthy of being Willshapers then I don't know who could be.
  15. F-Steel proves, yet again, to be insanely broken.
  16. This checks out for me. We already know they are the holders of most of the Honorblades and have been for literal millennia, so why not have slowly and sneakily collected a bunch of other magical swords that cut through anything. As said by Brandon for something else "If there are secret super-warriors to be had, you'd want to keep them for yourself".
  17. Firstly, thanks. Second about Flexibility and Rigidity. Flexibility is all about your muscles and joints while Rigidity is about how solid or fluid your body structure is. There is some strong overlap, yes. But I'll be honest these were just spitball ideas. Well, we don't know that for sure as we only have a single example. Not really a pattern, but if that is right then we don't need to justify what Atium-Alloy does what in Feruchemy! Volume seems interesting, though Likeability and Importance are kind of already under the banner of 'Connection' with F-Duralumin, though I suppose these are more 'specialized' than what Duralumin alone can do. I wonder what would happen if you stored most of your likeability, then tapped a whole bunch of Connection to make friendships faster? Would every person you try to befriend act like a tsundere? That sounds hilarious. Another idea I just had: Friction, the ability how friction interacts with your body. Storing makes your body very slippery, while Tapping makes your body cling to stuff better, though I'm pretty sure this would be pretty annoying to use since you either might slip out of your clothes or they'd start chafing really bad.
  18. I too have some ideas Storing Flexibility: Make your muscles and joints stiff now to make them much more flexible later. Would probably stack well with F-Pewter. Maybe is an Atium-Pewter alloy? Storing Sensation: Enhances your ability to feel emotions, storing would make you somewhat sociopathic and tapping would make you have wild mood swings. Could be useful for either hiding from or attracting Cognitive Entities. Maybe an Atium-Zinc alloy? Storing Sensory Processing: Doesn't make your senses better per say, just allows you to process them better. Tapping would make it easier to use your sight to pick things out, like solving a word puzzle in a few seconds. Would affect all other senses similarly. Storing would give you literal tunnel vision. Would be an Atium-Tin alloy without a doubt. Storing Rigidity: A bit of a weird one, storing would make your whole body softer, your bones would bend instead of breaking and that sort of stuff, would not protect your organs and would mess with your body structure, but there could be some use. Tapping would make your body more rigid, brittle even. If someone punched you while you tapped lots your body might crack like stone. I dunno this one seems weird. Storing Toughness: A lot simpler than the above, storing makes your body more fragile and tapping makes you harder to hurt. Atium-Gold? Probably not since Sazed would have figured that out. Storing Realmatic Awareness: This is a really weird one, we know that people can peer into the Cognitive Realm under certain circumstances, usually when they die or are crazy and Spiked, so this would just help you adjust that without the dying or spiking part. Storing would have you become less aware of the Physical Realm? While tapping enough would let you see into the Cognitive Realm at various levels, like from 'Spook seeing Kelsier' level to literally seeing into the Cognitive Realm itself as if you were there. Atium-Duralumin alloy? Storing Spiritual Heritability: Ehh, really dunno about this one, storing while conceiving a child would have that child be less likely to inherit your Spiritual Genes, while Tapping would make them inherit more? Lots of ethical weirdness for this one, though if one was a Ferring with this power, tapping wouldn't make your children become a Full Feruchemist, it would just guarantee that they become a Ferring. Maybe Atium-Nicrosil alloy? Anyway that's all I can think of for now.
  19. Maybe that will be relevant to making an FTL engine? A Primer Cube that utilizes Bendalloy and Feruchemical Speed to make the ship go way faster?
  20. I'm pretty sure you can't 'Charge up' a Primer Cube with two Allomantic powers at once, at least not the ones we've seen thus far. It seems plausible enough to create a 'Dual Charge' Primer Cube that could do that though. Which would be even more devasting, doubling the number of simultaneous effects of a Primer Cube. Imagine one that could Pull metal towards it and inflict disorienting Gold Shadows on whoever comes too close.
  21. I just had a thought about the whole "You can't shoot out of a Speedbubble cause it the bullet's go wild" but isn't there an easy way for a Mistborn to solve that? You just go up to the edge of the bubble, gently toss a coin past it, then line it up whoever you're trying to kill, then Steelpush it as hard as you can. By Steelpushing it you can force its trajectory back to where you want, it'd probably be even stronger than normal since you're applying more force per second than a normal Steelpush. You just have to be smart about it is all. But looking at all these potential tricks, the real strength to a modern Mistborn is that they'd have all of these options at anytime, barring the Allomantic Grenades that is, meaning that they'll always have some kind of trick to help them win a fight. Need to trap someone for a while? Use a Double Bubble. Need to rapid fire Duralumin Steelpushes? Use a Speedbubble to have time to replenish your metals. Need to heal from mortal injuries but aren't a Bloodmaker? Burn a ton of pewter and duralumin to recover really fast. The point is that a smart, well trained Mistborn with all metals, will probably always have some kind of answer to almost any problem. And if we're including access to equipment like Primer Cubes and Unsealed Metalminds, then by Harmony what have we created? Even just Unkeyed Metalminds would be ludicrous.
  22. Just been pondering over the still not yet fully understood mechanics of Allomantic Gold and I'm brainstorming about some very interesting Twinborn combinations with it. For example, A-Gold and F-Aluminum: The MAG (Which I like to take as pseudo-canon-ish until Brandon says otherwise) calls this combination a Vessel. Changing personality overnight. Perhaps by Blanking one's Identity it might allow one's Gold Shadow to possess them, or maybe even storing extra Identities away in various Aluminumminds, though that relies on the idea that one can actually Tap from them, which we haven't seen yet. Practical benefits could be gaining skills or knowledge you wouldn't usually have, like knowing martial arts or engineering. Another example is A-Gold and F-Chromium: We know that Fortune is connected to Future-Sight stuff, or more accurately peering into the Spiritual Realm, and Gold Shadows are definitely tied to the Spiritual Realm, so maybe by burning Gold, one can have more Fortune to store? Or by Tapping Fortune one can better control what type of Gold Shadow is shown? Practical benefits could more like the above combination, only instead of being possessed by the you that has the skills you want, you gain a backseat driver of yourself that tells you how to use the skills that you don't actually have. And my final example is A-Gold with F-Duralumin: Storing and Tapping Connection does all kinds of crazy stuff, so what if we added in Gold Shadows of the user's past? Maybe by storing Connection while Burning Gold, one can reduce the overwhelming aspect of Gold Shadows, the 'One becomes Two' aspect that seems kind of uncomfortable. Making so that you might be able to read the Gold Shadow's information more informally without it truly feeling like you or something. While Tapping Connection would further increase the feeling of being two people at once, not sure what if any benefit you'd get from it. I'm just rambling on at this point, but it just feels like even though Allomantic Gold isn't very flashy, there is still potential we haven't even scratched the surface of. Especially since throughout 7 Books we've only really seen it used twice, once by Vin and once by Miles and neither ever seemed interested in truly understanding what they were using. Any thoughts?
  23. I'm 99% certain that Canticle was made by Invention. A WOB described how Canticle is a Megasturcture with a 'Powerful Being' going around making multiple. He mentioned what I can only assume is a future story title, The Grand Apparatus. WOB in question If it somehow isn't Invention doing this, I'll cook and eat my book collection.
  24. I get the feeling that the Night Brigade has simply gotten better at tracking him over a long period of time. Like after his first Skip I'd be willing to bet it took them a few years to find him each time, then they somehow devised a better way of tracking him and then the question stopped being "Which planet is he hiding on?" and became "Where on this planet is he hiding?". After all it took them, like a day to reach Canticle which Nomad was shocked by so they must be getting better at hunting him somehow. Maybe Skipping leaves behind some trace Connection that points to where he went, we know from other stories that take place around this time period that there are machines that can read Connections, so maybe the Brigade is using something like that?
  25. Interesting, very interesting! My best guess for what that would do is that it'd grant Feruchemy, but since it's only trace amounts, I'd imagine it would only create Ferrings, so we'd have a whole bunch of Ferrings who aren't sequestered in the Terris Viillage and are free to explore the full breadth of what Feruchemy can do. That could lead to a greater public understanding of Feruchemy and once the nature of Unsealed Metalminds are more widely understood, many people will be looking for specific Ferrings to help make Unsealed Metalminds of their own. It could also lead to Allomancers becoming Twinborn and Twinborn as a whole becoming much more prevalent and common. Leading to many different combinations being around, maybe even a few more Compounders showing up here and there. Either that or it will cause a bunch of people some insane indigestion. Edit: Just found a WOB So it's not really an Oxide in the drinking water, but something that is relevant to the Cosmere and Scadrial.
