  1. I think it might grant temporary Heightenings, so long as you're Burning it you reach like the 6th Heightening, which grants Instinctive Commands which helps with using Awakening.
  2. Oh yeah, you're right. The TimeTellers were just being overly neutral jerks. Makes you wonder if they were just born with a heart full of neutrality. Maybe they found out how to spike it in. But yeah those rules will probably be given more focus in Emberdark, since Dusk is gonna have to figure them out to get help.
  3. I don't think so, because timeline-wise SotD was confirmed by WOB to be the furthest ahead, not long before Mistborn Era 4. That means it must be further ahead of The Sunlit Man, where the Accords were mentioned. Though I do think Dusk's actions might result in quite a bit of trouble for the Scadrians, after all they are effectively trying to bend the rules as much as they can to get what they want. So maybe more rules will be made to curb their influence? Sanctions on trade? Maybe Dusk will need to deal with assassins from Scadrial, trying to shut him up to make sure significant factions don't learn about their schemes? Maybe other victims of Scadrian Expansionism will rise up to support First of the Sun? Who knows?
  4. Probably Silverlight, since they seem to be a powerful faction in this Cosmere-wide conflicts. They've even set up rules of conduct based on stuff brought up in The Sunlit Man, with the Scadrian Scientists needing to follow the rule of not being obligated to interfere with events on Canticle. It was said to be part of the Silverlight Accords or something like that. So Silverlight is likely where Dusk is heading, then he'll probably be swamped with dumb politicking and all that. Scholars would probably be more interested since getting to First of the Sun is pretty difficult. Maybe we'll see Khriss.
  5. Interesting, who would Shallan call using a Seon? And based on the wording she may have done so after killing her mom and breaking her oaths. Probably didn't call Hoid, maybe Mraize? It would be funny if she accidentally called Thaidakar, who would be rightly confused about this random crying little girl who called him by accident.
  6. Ah, but you see. We've seen that the extra piece of Preservation isn't necessarily the thing that keeps Scadrians sapient. We've seen what people are like with that same piece excised from their very souls with Hemalurgy in TLM, so maybe it was necessary in the creation of Scadrians to make them Sapient, but not anymore. I've been thinking that a Lerasium/Atium Alloy would have different effects depending on how much of either one there is in it. More Lerasium might make you an Atium-Misting, more Atium might Connect you to Ruin, while an equal amount might make you a Feruchemist. Just a theory though. I don't think so, the amount of Investiture used in Hemalurgy is only used in the creation and implantation of the Spikes, after all if you steal Allomancy the power in the spike would still contain Preservation's Investiture instead of being turned into Ruin's.
  7. Something I've been wondering about for a good long while now: If a greater amount of Presveration's Investiture in a Scadrian's soul is what gives Allomancy, what would happen if they had more Ruin instead? It wouldn't result in Allomancy, but Ruin's most associated Magic System, Hemalurgy, isn't genetic. Or is it? Hemalurgy has changed since Era 1, Harmony's preference for Preservation along with Ruin no longer constantly pushing on the fabric of Scadrial, a world he had a direct hand in creating mind you, has led to Hemalurgy becoming more restricted. A normal Scadrian's soul can now only handle a certain number of Hemalurgic Spikes before they simply stop gaining anything from it. With the limit likely being below 11, so no more Steel Inquisitors, but as shown in TLM is a minimum of 5, probably a few more. I think the way around that limit might well be to tip the balance of a Scadrians soul the other way, making them have more of Ruin's Investiture could allow their soul to accept more Spikes, perhaps matching Marsh's whopping 20+ Spikes. Though I doubt this would get around the Identity Contamination that prevents Compounding. I think this works, more Preservation heightens a person's Allomancy while more Ruin heightens their attunement to Hemalurgy.
  8. Whatever way you slice it, it'd make for a very interesting story. A Radiant doing the (Perceived in-world) impossible and join two separate orders at once. Then trying to balance both sets of Oaths and progressing them. That'd make for quite a story indeed. I imagine it'd have been easier during the Desolations, where knowledge of Surgebinding was more common and Spren would be much keener in looking for humans to Bond with, maybe being more willing to share since the population is routinely decimated by nine-tenths. Plus the interactions between 4 Surges would be interesting, like would a Windrunner gain new types of Lashings with the right extra Surges? So many possibilities.
  9. A shame, I guess we can only imagine...
  10. I would definitely like to see a small story set on Lumar, on one of the other spore oceans so we can see what life is like there. Like the Zephyr Spore Sea, that'd be pretty interesting. I'd also love to see stories about Ancient Radiants just so we can have a clearer picture as to how those times were like. Though I think it's more likely we'll probably get either the Horneater story or that Lopen story as part of Arcanum 2. I don't think we'll be getting any stories about Komashi or Canticle since we've pretty much seen all we can see from there. Maybe a bit more about Komashi's past but an UTol story would be better, get a picture of the UTol system as well. Maybe an explanation about why Virtuousity Splintered herself.
  11. Maybe if people could crack how to use the Mists, that might be enough. Wait no, Gasesous Investiture is just fuel. Maybe the Perpendicluarity? Either way without the use of Lerasium, which was used to create Mistborn in the first place as there were only Mistings before it, there really aren't very many ways of becoming a Mistborn. We don't even know how Feruchemy is granted, like is it from a balance of Ruin and Preservation? Though maybe the Nicrosil Spikes the Set were experimenting with might be a way. Spiking more raw Preservation into someone to grant them Allomancy, kind of like the Mistsickness isn't it? Just more brutal. You'd just need a lot of Spikes filled with Preservation to bring someone over the threshold into a Mistborn, maybe. You'd need a lot of power though, possibly more than you can fit into a person thanks to the new Hemalurgic Spikes limit, which thanks to TLM we know is at a minimum of 5.
  12. Patji did say to Hoid that they thought they were the most well-hidden out of all the Avatars. But Patji is no longer there as of SotD. So who knows? We'll probably find out as Dusk Worldhops (Which is going to be my favorite part, we'll get to see Worldhopping in action!) that it might be common knowledge that Autonomy recalled all Avatars to centralize her power to avoid getting stretched thin in a galactic scale war. Harmony/Discord on one side, and probably Odium on another. Who knows what else. Maybe the Dor gets a brain and starts to Devotedly Dominate all opposition.
  13. Oh right, we're supposed to be doing Allomancy, my bad. Uhhh, I guess an Endowmentium/Aluminum alloy might remove all your Innate Investiture, leaving you a Drab even if you have no Breath?
  14. I know there's a WOB that says that you can use Hemalurgy to steal anything Feruchemy can do. So spikes that steal warmth, weight and breath directly are a thing. You could theoretically use Hemalurgy to permanently raise your body temperature, how 'amazing'.
  15. Thanks, I will admit the Tin one isn't exactly mine, I found it on one of the many Atium-Alloy ideas thread. The Pewter one is all mine though. It was a little tricky about how 'expanded mental and temporal effects' would apply to pewter of all things, but I decided to stick with just Temporal since that was more interesting. Emphasizes the risk inherent to normal pewter, while maximizing the normal benefits of 'not-dying'. Though it doesn't increase strength like normal pewter, it just keeps you alive.
  16. Sounds like Harmonium. As for me, I'm assuming you mean Atium Alloys or just do you mean Godmetals in general? Since I doubt we'll be seeing much of the allomantic effects of other Shard's godmetals since they'll be much harder to get. Not until Era 3-4 at the very least. I think a general rule is that a Pure Godmetal has the most 'expansive' effect than any of its alloys. Pure Lerasium makes you a Mistborn, but you can alloy it to make you a Misting instead. 'Pure' Atium grants 'an expansive vision of the future', while its electrum and gold alloys grant a lessend and even derivative effect. For Atium Alloys I think they should always be in around the same ballpark as their normal allomantic counterparts. Not always better and not always worse. I have some ideas. Iron/Atium: 'Pull' on the time of a single piece of metal, slowing it down like a mobile cadmium-bubble that only stretches around a single piece of metal. Steel/Atium: 'Push' on the time of a piece of metal, speeding it up. Same limits as above. Tin/Atium: 'Pull' your senses back in time, the world seems to rewind around you. Flaring speeds up the rewind. Pewter/Atium: 'Push' any wounds received while burning into the future, a very risky and near-suicidal form of invulnerability. Doesn't work on wounds you already have. Not sure how it'd work on stabbing.
  17. Turn the wheels with Pushing and Pulling. It might not be very fast, but is all the other things I said.
  18. I think the answer is probably leftover cultural paranoia and anti-espionage tendencies from the 'spy-thriller Cold War' state of Scadrial in Era 3. Since the Malwish would probably rather pull their own teeth out than willingly give their secrets to the 'Maskless Barbarians' of the North. But yeah, I think this is probably a domino effect from Kelsier's methods, just like how the Set was a domino effect from Kel's actions. He may not have intended for it to happen, but it did.
  19. Whenever people talk about Moash redemption they tend to bring up Dalinar's past as the Blackthorn and how since Dalinar changed so could Moash because Dalinar killed way more people than Moash. Here's the thing: Dalinar, even at his worst, never willingly killed or hurt the people he cared about, he once nearly tried to kill Gavilar when under the Thrill, but he resisted and felt horrible about it. Evi's death, which he never intended and was an accident, hurt him deeply. When he realized he was starting to hate his own son, he stepped back and tried to find some way to stop himself from becoming worse, going to the Nighwatcher in desperation. He's helped conquer kingdoms and slaughtered his enemies, sure. But that's the Alethi Highprince lifestyle, that's how he was raised and what was expected of him. He just enjoyed it and was better at it than most. But Moash, he willingly betrayed Bridge 4, joined the Voidbringers, the demons of Vorin tradition who he must have known would be in opposition to the men he may as well have called his brothers in arms. He's killed Teft, a friend from Bridge 4. He's tried to goad Kaladin, the man who saved him from slavery, into killing himself. "Oh", you might say, "Moash is under Odium's influence, he's not in his right mind." and technically you are right. But so was Dalinar, who still resisted the Thrill to not kill his own brother, long before he ever became a Bondsmith and felt disgusted at himself after. But Moash, he doesn't, he said it himself. He doesn't feel bad he killed Teft, he doesn't feel bad that he was pushing Kaladin to suicide, he doesn't feel bad for doing any of it. He feels bad for how it makes him feel, nothing more. And he's still under Odium, he's still Vyre, He Who Quiets. In my eyes, he's the man who Dalinar could have become, if he hadn't taken responsibility. Edit: I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have posted this here of all places. I just really wanted to put my two cents out there.
  20. I think that this idea is really cool. Also reasonable, after all one of the abilities of the newly discovered Rithmatic Lines is just making things quiet. Which you can't really use in a competitive format like the other lines. This Line of Gravitation (Maybe Line of Attraction to prevent Stormlight Readers from getting confused) actually seems really interesting, it would change how duels are done, allowing one to theoretically throw one's opponents Vigor Lines right back at them without needing too much set up. If there are 2 new lines, there could be a hundred more, we can only wait for when Brandon writes the sequels, which I think will happen after he writes the Mistborn Era 3 and Elantris Sequel books.
  21. Something else that might be useful, though would stretching the definitions of 'tool', would be a car. A car powered by Allomancy so it would be totally silent, eco-friendly and fuel efficient. Plus that opens a whole new branch of gadgets just for your car. "To the Mistmobile!"
  22. It's more that Honor is bad at seeing the future. Most of Future-Sight stuff on Roshar does come from Odium more often than not. (Renarin, Nightform, Death Rattles, etc.) It's probably just Tanavast's way of saying "Yo, watch out for Seers, they're probably huffing Odium's gas".
  23. This is a big part of what allowed Feruchemy to not dilute for so long. The Terris were insular and married within, so the genes of Feruchemy didn't suffer from much dilution. You would need a lot more than a handful of people to start an actual population without resulting in very, very large amounts of inbreeding. But if you could get around that issue, and make sure the population had enough Preservation in their souls to make them all Mistborn, then technically yes. Though I'd imagine you'd still get some Mistings here and there. Unless the Connection the future generations have to whatever planet they're on starts to degrade the Connection to Preservation, so then no.
  24. I have most of the physical books, I started just buying the eBooks on my phone when The Lost Metal and the Secret Projects came out. It'd be expensive for me to buy the eBooks version of all my books so I haven't bothered.
  25. It's been a while, so the details are a bit fuzzy to me, thanks.
