  1. Or, and here is a scary thought, it's a different secret Steel Inquisitor that people just assume to be a reference to Marsh.
  2. And I think y'all're inferring too much into statements from Brandon that don't fully support your positions.
  3. Another thing to take into account is that we've seen Autonomy seed new religions on planets in order to forge a Connection and manifest an Avatar (ie Trell and Jaddeth). Assumedly a 13th aether spore would result in a 13th religious moonschool being founded which could give her a foothold on the planet.
  4. So my timeline of ideas might have been off a bit (he doesn’t actually specify if Aluminum had been decided prior or not) but it still shows that Brandon was thinking about giving Silver a purifying Allomantic power which lines up with how its used in conjunction to both Shades and Aethers.
  5. Nothing presented has convinced me that Dawnshards can’t be used by themselves. But I guess that is a question for a spoiler stream.
  6. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/270-the-hero-of-ages-annotations/#e7983
  7. I have access to Investiture via the Dawnshard and I have a task, win the competition. Do you have citations for static vs kinetic Investiture being a thing? Because it sounds like something you are making up just to win an argument. Any a Command like “Change” and whatever the other three would be sound like an active abilities to me. We know a Command acts just like a metal or Aon being a key to guide how Investiture acts. We don’t know the specific surrounding why Rysn can’t use the Dawnshard and if that carries over to other people so it can’t be used to refute points. But honestly if you want on top of being a Sho Del (or Kandra would provide the extra arms I guess) with all 4 Dawnshards I can still use another 120 points and could give myself the Surge of Gravitation or Iron Compounding and just become a supermassive black hole but I don’t find that necessary. Having all 4 Dawnshards if possible will be like having the Infinity Gauntlet.
  8. On their own… cannot be used without a person… The Dawnshard is not on its own as I am providing the person. In a person with no access to Investiture… Dawnshards do confer a certain amount of Investiture… Negating the first part. Each Dawnshard grants both distinct abilities and shared Heightening like attributes… Sounds like Invested abilities to me. As I am providing the Intent I can utilize the Command without needing any external ability. To extrapolate your WOB to anyone outside of Rysn is unsubstantiated.
  9. Dawnshards grant their own abilities and Investiture so I don’t need anything separate from that.
  10. What if the pancakelike beings Hoid mentions live in the center of Lumar and the air is from their flatulence?
  11. Sho Del oddly missing from the list but probably 5 points (dragon is missing as well probably a lot more points). I now have four arms. Give me all four Dawnshards. That’s just 80 points to Shatter Adonalsium.
  12. If its anything it sounds more like a Dawnshard name but I think its just capitalized to metaphorically anthropomorphize it.
  13. Regarding the atmosphere not being retained due to weak gravity, would the air vents and zephyr aether be enough to offset losses?
  14. Possibly because black sand can be reInvested back into white sand which seemingly doesn’t happen to dead spores. So that color change is probably what is confusing them.
  15. Disagree with this. I think Brandon is hammering in on the TLM mention of knowledge of Marsh spreading throughout the cosmere. Does a Kandra ship doctor count as a Scadrian cultural artifact?
  16. Lumar doesn’t have coral reefs so no sand beaches. They probably saw an errant Sandmaster worldhopper using powers noticed it was mechanically similar to Aethers but didn’t recognize the material and so thought it was bone instead.
  17. I'm liking the Design in the drawer theory but as we see in TLM Hoid seems able to travel without Design if he wants to. Unless there was something I missed in TLM that hinted at her presence.
  18. Glad to see at least one post about this. It could be a native species to Lumar that Riina invested to grant self-awareness as stated she was capable of doing in ch 28 (although that could have been a red herring to cover Huck being created the opposite way and she can't really do that). It could be a human who like Charlie was transformed into something else. It could be a new non human sapient species we haven't seen before.
  19. Silver was originally going to be in Aluminum's place on the Allomantic table but got switched out due to Silver being more common than Aluminum in pre-industrial cultures (at least on Earth; I think this would have been fine on Scadrial) so that the wiping ability would be secret. Silver outright killing Spren seems iffy to me even with the WOB given that Raboniel tries so hard to create Antilight. Not as much need for it if Silver could have been used instead.
  20. We also see this sorta with Cultivation by way of the Nightwatcher's boon and curses. I also see Xisis's ability grant boons and the knowledge needed to do so such as knowing Ann's condition and prescription as possibly being Old Magic related.
  21. While it could be a mixed group at Silverlight, I am also of the mind that he is talking to First of the Sunners specifically. As for the reference to his alias Wit we see he takes similar positions on multiple worlds such as the Imperial Fool of the Rose Empire on Sel. Kingmaker also implies Hoid getting close to First of the Sunner royalty in some way, possibly as a court jester again.
  22. 1) Probably not given his various methods of Lightweaving and Identity manipulation 2) Yeah seems pretty powerful but less powerful than making someone else an Elantrian without having to go through the efforts of Soulstamping or Hemalurgy. 3) I assume it was more for a Cosmere as a whole thing. 4) Yeah it was good. 5) It's possible with the changes to how the island works the "duchy" no longer exists and the title revoked. 6) I still think something else is need in regards to Spren. Otherwise Raboniel wouldn't have been looking so hard for Anti-light; she'd have just used silver. 7) Well going from AoN there is also Ferrous and Bestarin which is metal and flesh respectively. While Amberite turned into Roseite I'm not sure if the sunlight Aether used for heating is the same as AoN's Illuminous Aether which was paired and on par with Midnight Aether. There is a theory that aside from Midnight and its counterpart the other Aether correspond to Vorin's Ten Essences: Zephyr/Zephyr, Verdant/Pulp, Roseite/Lucentia, Sunlight/Spark, possibly Crimson/Blood, Ferrous/Nail, Bestarin/Sinew and the other three Essences being the final three unknown Aethers. 8) Maybe he could tap Fortune somehow and did see Tress defeating the Sorceress. 9) Khriss says as much in TLM's Ars Arcanum I don't think that's the case. As stated above Khriss mentions that Marsh is being mentioned on other worlds and she doesn't know why or how. This coming out right after seems to intentionally be hammering in this detail. And we know Lumar seemingly gets a lot of random worldhoppers including a Scadrian in the story. Also Hoid seems to be talking to First of the Sunners given all his narrative asides and while do their recent contact with Scadrians would also let Marsh enter their mythology I assume if it was a Connection translation it would go to something native to First of the Sunner culture rather than a religious import.
  23. I hope not but I wonder if this is a typo and Brandon meant just Worldsinger instead.
  24. Made by manipulating the Rock meme from r/cremposting into a Fort meme
