Yeah but we already have the Fused name for Alethkar, Avendla.
-
There is also Speak the Words which is a level 3 adventure with 3 of the pregen characters having 1 or 2 levels in a radiant path.

Oh yeah then that makes sense. I was coming more from the perspective of encyclopedic writing for the coppermind. Like on Taln's page does it make more sense to mention the PCs meeting with him before or after Shallan and Amaram? Does the Nale interaction happen before or after he takes Szeth from the Purelake to Thaylen field? Etc.

I don't think it happens on the same day. I think Amaram visits Taln and the cave and then afterwards has someone keeping an eye on Taln to report if anyone else is sniffing around which leads to the altercation with the PCs. I did also note the lack of mentioning the duel in the RPG but I think it could still happen after the PCs arrive at the warcamps but only in the first few days while they are still getting their bearings. Additionally it could also happen while they are in the chasms for the Chasm Offensive scene which could be a multi day excursion. I don't get why you are having the PCs show up separately from Taln though? They are part of the same caravan. It feels too much trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

All the way back from Emperor's Soul: "[Shai's] ancestors had worshipped rocks that fell from the sky at night. The souls of broken gods, those chunks had been called." Feels like it could be related despite being a completely different planetary system. Maybe there are multiple broken moons across the cosmere.

Tangential to this. I feel the Terris prophecies might not actually be Scadrial specific but more a cosmere constant. A lot of the quoted lines could apply to Vasher: There are more that fit as well but also some that don't but that applies to Sazed as well e.g marrying the daughter of a king. Likewise I think Dalinar and maybe even Raoden could be Heroes of Ages as well.

I actually talked to Jofwu about this a bit. The big issue is when WoR I-7 takes place. It is placed in novel between ch 34 and 35 but this would mean the PCs are at the least 11 days at the shortest and 25 at the most. Luckily Interludes aren't necessarily placed chronologically in the books so there is some wiggle room. Apparently in ch 63 or 64 Shallan say that Bordin arrived a few weeks ago. If we take that to mean exactly two weeks then SLSW ch 2 has to start before WoR 55. I really want to know when the PCs investigate Taln compared to Shallan/Amaram. You have the PCs doing it before but I think the interaction with Amaram makes more sense if they do it after. You mentioned you might need to revise your timeline. I think the biggest thing is you've only allowed 3 days in the warcamps and unfortunately I think it needs at least 10. I think the highstorm in SLSW ch 1 is the 7th on 10.2.5 which would then allow for the PCs to show up at the warcamps on like 10.4.2 just after the 8th highstorm. They could then spend about 2.5 weeks running errands and doing odd jobs while investigating Liss culminating in the altercation with Amaram and leaving the warcamps.

Adding to this is that Initiation for being a Navigator is most likely having been deemed ready by a mentor. Similarly Sand Mastery Initiation needs to be presided over by another person. Both are kind of communal events. Autonomy has a few idiosyncrasies like that. Others are how hierarchical her followers are and the sort of leeway she gives them. I think she runs the gamut do to the whole many Avatars thing.

Actually thinking about it, while there might be a method after the fact, I think the easiest way to get unkeyed worm paste (truly what a phrase) would be for the investiture the worms are metabolizing to already be unkeyed.

Apparently the term "Epelli" has been used in some of his trunked Yolen novels. So either Yolish or Shardic related. If not for the WoB stating Aona and Skai died before Ambition I would say they are the most likely candidates. But I could see it being a previous contest of champions or more metaphorically as two societies or cultures fighting. I want to point out that we know of two formerly abandoned cities: the Diem on Taldain and Elantris on Sel. The Eelakin could be from either of these before the now current residents found them empty and moved in. Another option for both though is the Iriali. Additionally we have a WoB about Autonomous influence on Sel. One thing to note here is that per Dusk's vision the loremothers got the order of events a bit mixed up. The Eelakin made it to Patji and had started settling before running into the Dakwara which they found while exploring the surrounding cognitive realm after arriving. This could have some implications to the whole myth. One thing I think is possible is that the migration might have taken multiple generations with the myth Cakoban being a composite character of the historical Cakoban who was the last leader of the group and previous leaders whose names have been lost.

I could see Heralds still being stuck due to the oathpact.

Trying to place each RPG chapter with what chapters are happening concurrently in WoR or OB. So far this is what I have come up with: Chapter 1 has a highstorm occur several days before Chapter 2 Chapter 2 starts around WoR I-7 (WoR 34/35 if where placed in book otherwise it might be starting a bit before WoR 63/64 as I can't imagine the PCs visiting the asylum much before Araman does if not after) spans multiple days to weeks including or after WoR 55 since Amaram is described as leading the Knights Radiant earliest PCs can leave the warcamps is just after WoR 58 and latest is before WoR 67 Chapter 3 set 20 days after end of Chapter 2 spans a day or two Chapter 4 happens around OB 4 because first full cycle of the Everstorm takes 15 days to reach Karanak (either a second Everstorm happens again or the first is a few days into the 15) from Karanak to Nigthwatcher's Valley takes multiple weeks (oddly unspecific since we are generally given other travel times down to the day) Chapter 5 seems to be pre OB 96 as the Eighty's War is ongoing but and Sasemalex Dar is not yet occupied but Nale is helping the Tukari and Singers which points to post OB 121 (really depends on the unspecific travel times from Karanak to Nigthwatcher's Valley and Nightwatcher's Valley to Ashiqqil Keep) (actually probably happens just before Nale goes up to the Purelake in OB 98 after consulting with Ishar) from Ashiqqil Keep to Sesemalex Dar takes 16 days a day or two spent in Sesemalex Dar from Sasemalex Dar to Rall Elorim takes 65 days Chapter 6 and 7 set possibly between OB and RoW as at least 11 Everstorms have passed in Rall Elorim for a few days

7 orbits between pulses from the Eye of Ridos, 7 denominations of the currency, 7 sandmaster ranks, implied 7 colors of starmarks; the only 8 is guild professions Colors are weird. Odium also has the ultraviolet stuff going on. But Cakoban glowed gold while invested and red seems to be described as suborned Investiture rather than the native color so I take the gold from the phrase "men of gold and red" to be what it connected to Trell. Yeah I think it aligns well with the many avatars thing she's got going on. Unfortunately there is this WoB: But everything else seems to line up so perfectly I'm wondering if Brandon has changed his mind.

Nightblood vs Type 1-6 Threnodite Entity
lacrossedeamon replied to Bares's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think they might be too invested for Nightblood to completely destroy. -
There are some hints that Iriali could be connected to Autonomy although a WoB does seemingly contradict that but 7 is most likely Autonomy's number and gold could be her color. It's possible they were also the original builders of the Diem fortress on Taldain.
-
This does not seem to be the case at all. They basically just got done talking about how they have no idea where Frost is and if the sister is Starling's mother that doesn't bode well for her status. It reads to me as Hoid possibly having children of his own now as weird as that might be or it might be Kaise and Daorn (even though they aren't actually twins) but that has some implications for the Ghostbloods.
-
Basically all invested people have the ability to consume more investiture. We see mistings and aetherbounds do it in TLM. Lift's weirdness isn't in being able to consume investiture it's that she can metabolize actual food into investiture. If you could unkey worm paste I think Radiants or Awakeners could use it by eating it as well.

Cakoban I believe is inspired by Cakobau, the first and last king of Fiji.

-Nale has a captive larkin (canon); he should not be allowed to have that.

THEORY - Could Eelakin have made it to Lumar?
lacrossedeamon replied to Bousk's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The two god aethers from the trunked Aether of Night novel had transportation/teleportation powers. The one that was the basis for the Midnight Aether seems to have lost that ability in the new canon version. I wonder if that means its counterpart, the Illuminous Aether (assuming a canon version of it exists), got a boosted transportation/teleportation ability. While the prime aethers on Dhatri might be able to form a full stable perpendicularity (but something happened to it in the struggle against the Dark Aether), maybe the strain on Lumar can only form perpendicularities on the scale of eslecalling.- 7 replies

I could also see some parallels to Yelig-nar, whatever is up with Baxil (honestly was hoping for him the show up in the RPG) and even some of the stuff Ishar was doing with spren and his fused humans.

Aluminum, Silver, and the Metallic Arts rant
lacrossedeamon replied to lacrossedeamon's topic in Mistborn
Doesn't really have to. The number of gnats isn't enough for this to be a real issue. And when Sazed can artificially create fossil fuel reserves he can do the same for whatever metal he wants. Plus the economy of metals on Scadrial won't be that reflective of Earth's in the same way that the economy of gemstones on Roshar is different from on Earth. That is an interesting take that I hadn't considered and could see the validity of it. But given silver's interaction with stopping shade withering and lack of adverse effect on the person I don't think it would be as bad as you think. I looked into this more and I think you are wrong here. Khriss inconsistently states both "aluminum destroys reserves" and "aluminum causes metabolization of other metals but to no effect" but reading the Vin capture scene implies the former. Even if it is the latter that means aluminum isn't just blocking but also forcing another effect which I would have a problem with. And if that is the case then it doesn't pair well with duralumin because with it you still have to consciously burn the other metals; it's not automatic. Honestly with my system (silver being the gnat metal) I could see aluminum still acting similar but you just don't burn it. If it is in your body it would prevent you from consciously burning other metals or at least block the effect without the aluminum itself depleting. Similar to how aluminum blocks invested healing when in the body but that doesn't deplete the aluminum. Why not? It would just have the pushing effect like all the other alloys. Unless you are saying boosting the allomantic effect is not the same correct pushing foil to wiping reserves. That I could agree with but feel that also applies somewhat to aluminum and duralumin as pointed out above. I know I said it's basically futile to continue but I can't just help responding.- 15 replies

there's also a 1-shot included with chasmfiend vol 2; we are getting some extra scenarios in September; the shadesmar scenario has been pushed back to fall 2026 instead of spring (so after the mistborn stuff releases, not before); not sure if there is a pdf for the hog heist one shot meric did (maybe in chasmfiend vol 1)
