  1. Yeah it does seem like Hoid's audience is First of the Sunners. Hoid potentially first visited First of the Sun 300 years before SotD but the specific stuff he says does seem to place it later than that. If Kingmaker becomes canon we also know Hoid does visit First of the Sun again in order to learn that story.
  2. Charlie must have been on a ship to go to the Sorceress to begin with. What if Hoid was part of the same ship's crew at the time? Charlie seems familiar with Hoid having been cursed moreso than Tress was.
  3. Can Godmetals have "isotopes"? What if each of Autonomy's Avatars have its own "isotope" of Bavadium?
  4. Not sure there is much merit to this connection but from the AoN trunked novel we also have the Ferrous Aether/Foil Essence and Bestarin Aether/Sinew Essence. We don't really know what Crimson Aether produced spikes are actually made of but going off color might relate to Blood Essence. I'd say Zephyr Aether actually relates to both Zephyr and Vapor Essences. The hinted at "Bone" Aether could be Talus Essence with a possible connection to Sandmastery related to transmuting rock and stone. I think Midnight Aether lies outside the Ten Essences. If two of the canon Aethers are the Ferrous and Bestarin from AoN then we still have 4 unaccounted for, one of these probably deals with hydrocarbons which then leaves three more unrelated to Essences as well. From AoN Aethers are meant to be paired with Midnight having been paired with Illuminous which I'm not sure is the same as Sunlight/Golden Aether. It is also possible those two are outside of the Ten Essences being seen as higher than the rest but the other 10 Aethers due correspond with the Essences with the hinted at 13th Aether actually not being a thing with something else creating rock/stone and Vapor being its own as well. Going with this we could try pairing off the Ten Essences similar to how the Aethers were paired off. Roseite/Lucentia and Verdant/Pulp are paired; Ferrous/Foil and Bestarin/Sinew are paired. Speculations would then be Zephyr/Zephyr and ???/Vapor, Sunlight/Spark and ???/Talus, Crimson/Blood and ???/Tallow.
  5. Another line of note is the Sorceress's Island being described as "suspiciously circular" which I assume plays into the utilization of Aons. I did find it interesting that in the illustration the Aons being used still correspond to Arelon geography. It's also interesting to learn that an Elantrian seems to be able to just make someone else an Elantrian. That seems a bit overpowered but also seems to be a recent discovery otherwise Shai could just have made all the other Ghostbloods Elantrians already.
  6. I wonder if Sandmastery is actually related to the legendary 13th aether Fort mentions. The planet doesn't have coral reefs so no sand beaches. They might not have recognized the material for what it was and thought it bone instead. Regarding the tablet we know Awakening was used for its predictive abilities utilizing Connection but the recharging might not be Investiture related at all and just be normal solar powered batteries. You do seem to missing that the sand itself on Taldain isn't what is being invested by it's sun but microorganisms that live within the sand. But yes there are a lot of suspicious similarities.
  7. It's also possible that rather than being an Aether Re-Shephir is just an Aetherbound. You bring up a good point about "her" not seeming to need water though. As for the reaction with water, it seems to me that the spores are some form of biotic entity like the microorganisms that allow for Sandmastery. Water seems to be key in allowing them to metabolize Investiture into physical growth in some way.
  8. Silly to think this when clearly Fort is just Rock in disguise.
  9. Brandon has stated that the Unmade count as being native to Roshar but I think that leaves it open for some of them not being native prior to being Unmade. They are also said to be Splinters of Odium. I think its possible that he Invested other beings similar to how Autonomy makes Avatars but on a smaller scale and that Re-Shephir could have previously been a Midnight Aetherbound who had worldhopped to Roshar for whatever reason before being Unmade.
  10. Doug is to the cosmere as Gin and Tonic is to Hitchhiker's Guide
  11. Well you were right about the crazed Aethers but it seemed that Hoid didn't care much about them. He probably did get containers full of spores as a bonus just like we see him with Taldain sand but he was probably on Lumar only because of the Sorceress.
  12. You think Silverlight MERCANTILE would have trouble obtaining bauxite?
  13. Did we see the actual pits though? Because SPECTRE120 is right. Looking at the maps of both The Final Empire and the map from The Lost Metal, Elendel City is located near what used to be the Doriel ashmount on the coast of the Southern Sea (now the Sea of Yomend). The Pits were north of Lake Tyrian which still exists as the Tyrian Sea further north than even the Northern Roughs. So did Harmony just move the Pits south (or the bodies of water north)? Or did he leave them where they were and created a decoy Pits in Elendel City?
  14. This is what I assumed. Marasi heard a partial calque with "moon" being said in Selish and "light" being said in Northern Scadrian.
  15. I know what Brandon said but we never see Wax doing anything with the Coin that would affect Kelsier in anyway. And again we don't really know anything about the providence of the Coin: why Kelsier stored that memory, how Hoid got it, why it's important. It seems like it was more for the reader than it was for the plot.
  16. Roshar is only old enough for a few fossils to have formed so only a few tens of thousands of years old. I think Vasher also implies Nalthis is too young to have fossils.
  17. Yeah, they stripped it of its rhythm but weren't able to do much with it because it would attune once out of it. I couldn't remember the context for how they did it. Thanks.
  18. I don't remember but were Navani and Raboniel able to make unkeyed Light?
  19. Harmonium also replicates various forms of Investiture.
  20. That coin was really a big nothing burger, wasn't it. Like why would Kelsier store that specific memory, how did Hoid get it, why give it to Wax? It's not like Wax seemingly used that knowledge in any meaningful way.
  21. Has there been enough time for convergent evolution to happen? We know a few worlds that are too young for even fossils to have formed.
  22. Don't care about all this other bullsh*t predicated on not agreeing as what constitutes as divine and why people might not recognize it as such anyways. A lot of this relies on how much the people truly know about the situation. It's not like Kelsier was any more or less effective than Harmony here. Why not stop putting trust into the Survivor? And this could be seen as Harmony getting the desired results while moving the fewest amounts of pieces. That could in fact raise esteem for him in the eyes of those who know instead. But I think people who are truly in the know don't really see Shards as gods anymore. Adonalsium is a debatable matter on the other hand that I won't get into because clearly in that way lies madness.
  23. Vasher can't actually use stormlight for awakening, he can only use it in place of the weekly breath needed to stay alive.
