  1. One thing I haven't heard about discussed is how the loss of mythology and major cultural differences as we veer into Shardic/Cosmere focus can affect the feeling of 'realness' in Roshar. Of the top of my head things like: Elithanathile, the tenth name of the Almighty The 10 Fools The Silver Cities The Lifebrother mentioned by Szeth The mystery of Dawnsingers/Voidbringers Things like that added to the mystery and feeling of Roshar as a world feeling more lived in in tWoK and WoR. As we get some of the answers, it does demystify past events, but I feel these anachronisms are discussed fewer and fewer. I think a lot of these could be mentioned more and highlight cultural differences in order to give characters/places a feeling of their own, whereas it seemed a lot of characters spoke with the same/similar voice. As an aside, it felt like a lot of characters who reveal ways of the past, like the Heralds and Fused seem to have no mythology or cultural traditions of their own - it felt very much like "this is how it was, this is what we did" and I'd expect the Singers and Ashynites to have cultural norms and discrepancies of their own. Sorry it might have been rambling, but I do think losing out on a lot of this in favour of reveals/big changes might be one reason Roshar feels more modern and characters feel less distinct than they did once upon a time.
  2. A few points from reading: I think we have little to no idea who wrote the Epigraphs, as most of the candidates would 'know' about their mission (unless they meant their true mission with the Wind) It's interesting that the Oathgate spren specifically mentioned freedom from Honor and Odium and NOT Cultivation On that - Taravangian knows Sja-Anat was seeking freedom from Odium, so I don't know if she factors into things a different way than before. Then again the change in Vessel likely caused Wind to be more active so maybe he's stepped back from things on Roshar a bit - I'm sure we'll find out soon Did I read right that Shallan used 'dead' Testament to open an Oathgate? I wonder what implications this has for her rebonding Testament or for Maya on that matter Intrigued to see where Sigzil's story goes - WoB is that most of what happens to turn him into Nomad will be this book, so within 9 more days he will have to break with the Windrunners, become a Skybreaker AND claim a Dawnshard which seems like a big ask. I can see Kaladin's story going pretty much any way (death, ascension, something new) EXCEPT him just settling down to be a therapist.
  3. Following Tress, we have established terminology for two types of bond in the Cosmere: Nahel Bond: Where there is an exchange in the Cognitive Realm Luhel Bond: Where there is an exchange in the Physical Realm Following Realmatic Theory, it would be likely that there is a third bond formed across the Spiritual Realm, though we have yet to get the terminology for that or see what that looks like...or have we? I suspect the Aviar bond is a type of Spiritual Bond as: There is no Physical exchange between the Aviar and their partner The Aviar and partner both exist in the Physical Realm entirely (although one could argue that the bond increases the intelligence of the Aviar) Hence we know there is some kind of bond between the Aviar and their partner, yet not one that seems to fit within the structure we have seen so far. I suspect it may be an example of a Spiritual Connection causing the yet unseen third type of bond, but I am willing to hear any arguments against this theory!
  4. Yep, he confirmed it here https://wob.coppermind.net/events/460/#e14625
  5. Agreed with all your points about how capable Moash is as an assassin. But near the end it was mentioned that some Heavenly Ones found Moash and took him away, presumably safely back into Odium's territory.
  6. Just want to weigh in on this. Being an assassin isn't about quantity, but quality of the kill. Moash has been shown to be entrusted towards important targets: Elhokar Jezrien Navani (With a Kaladin side-mission) Sure, Jasnah has killed more random mooks, but Moash is the one that Rayse sent to do these high priority missions.
  7. I think the Unmade are related to why the Spren betrayed the Singers. Given also that we know Ba-Ado-Mishram was heavily Connected to all of Roshar and her sealing was a big issue for spren and singers alike, my pet theory is she was the spren of Roshar (the continent or the planet). Given that Bondsmith Spren seem to represent big features of the world, I initially thought the Sibling would end up being the Roshar-spren, but if BAM is that deeply Connected, it makes sense why her sealing had so much influence on things.
  8. I think one thing that's likely to progress is finding out how Cognitive Shadows get offworld. Thaidakar and Kalak are both after that secret and Odium plans on armies of the fused travelling the stars and since we have Zahel present on Roshar who is proof that this is possible, that could be a way to uncover this.
  9. I'm pretty sure the words were said by Dalinar given the quote above.
  10. So WoB has mentioned that Microkinesis (the movement of small objects) was a form of magic present on Yolen. Khriss refers to it in the same Ars Arcanum: She said this regarding Stoneshaping, so I assume she means that this is more dangerous than Stoneshaping, which I can see for obvious reasons.
  11. One thing to mention against the case of 'He Who Quiets' This quote from Oathbringer indicates that Vyre MEANS 'He Who Quiets' and it does not behave as a title. So I doubt this is the correct option for El.
  12. Could it be this from the Part 3 Epigraphs from Raboniel? EDIT: Oops wait I just saw it's been mentioned above, never mind.
  13. Right at the start of Part 4 you can find a piece of art with three glyphs. One translates to 'Tanavast', one to 'Rayse' and one to 'Koravellium Avast'
  14. Regarding this, one of the pieces of art in RoW heavily implied that her name is actually Koravellium Avast
  15. I'm pretty sure it was the Wit Epilogue
