I think fake out deaths are fine broadly. All fake out deaths Marsh - This was excellent for me. We knew the crew were playing a dangerous game and Marsh was taking on a huge risk. Marsh lives but he is forever changed by what happens to him Kelsier - I quite like the way he wrangles his own survival. It's not that we thought he died and he didn't. He was dead as dead is dead. Jasnah - Necessary for the plot, Shallan needed to believe she was dead otherwise she would never have been able to strike out alone as she does in the novel. If she was able to check in with Jasnah and get instructions she's just a gopher. I also like what it demonstrates about Jasnah as a character. Calculating beyond what was even believed about her at the time. Syl - Again, it works for the story. Kaladin needed to break a little more and realise what he valued more - His desire for revenge or doing what he knew was right. Szeth - This is probably the weakest one to me. But I liked it none the less. Szeth's perspective on the "other side" is very compelling. Wax - Honestly I don't even remember this one that much; but it Yumi - I need them to have a second chance at being together, serviceable especially in a pseudo romantic novel. I do understand that my view is not too dissimilar from "if I liked it, it was fine"

Hear me out. Sho Del and Elantrians. 4 hands, twice the efficacy with drawing Aons. Or worse - Sleepless Elantrians, somehow. Each one drawing it's own line - Winged hordelings to form the complex shapes rapidly.
-
I don't recall that particular element either. Reading the chapter summaries this morning Raoden destroys one of the monks and tells the others to leave. I don't think they'd even have a chance against "true" Elantrians.
-
I suspect they are probably F tier troops but Dakhor monks do exist (I just remembered they exist). In terms of crudeness it's not dissimilar to Koloss but it seems a much more involved process. Even on Sel I think Elantrians probably sweep the board - Though the according to the coppermind (I haven't read Elantris in years) says that ante Reod an invasion by Dakhor of Elantris was planned so maybe they thought they had a chance.

Didn't Shai use investiture that had been brought to Scadrial rather than tapping into the Dor directly?

"Turn on your location to access additional features"

When was this?

How common are chulls and rockbuds? The koloss would essentially strip mine any and all nutritious elements in a given space relatively quickly. I was about to comment that any invasion on Roshar needs to be prepared for The Highstorm but that's not the case anymore. Just the weird...constant Everstorm.
-
I'm recalling that his attacks on the Devotion, Dominion and Ambition were costly for him and that's why he took a different approach with Roshar. The goading of Tanavast specifically occurs to me as Rayse not wanting to make the first move - Getting a little off topic so I'll leave this one for now. My thoughts on if there is no Kaladin, is that because he whole family is gone or just him? Tien probably never gets sent to war if he's still around. Maybe Lirin tries him as a surgeons apprentice out of desperation but he's probably not going to cross Roshone in the same way.

The more this goes on the more I think of how much Odium lucked out with Singers. A species built to be able to fulfil specialised roles. It leads me to wonder if if there is any limit on the forms given forms of power come from just voidspren.
-
We do know that Honour wasn't splintered, but does Cultivation even have a weak point for Odium to exploit and attack with? AFAIK Cultivation has never exposed themselves by taking direct action that opens them up.
-
If there is no Kaladin is there also no Tien?
-
I doubt they'd be crushed, rocks is rocks. bones are porous Plus magic

I proposed Retribution as the Honour/Odium combination in advance. While it wasn't a super serious locked in prediction I was quite happy about it. Shallan having a shardblade is fairly foreshadowed IMO, she references 10 heartbeats while having a panic attack. From that moment on I expected it. Elhokar mentions funny symbol headed creatures to Kaladin, I took that to be Cryptics.
