  1. I am worried no one has posted yet, am i breaking some rules here? Ok, I already like the premise enough. I don't think I have ever gotten sold on a love story so quickly( Maybe I just hate unnecessary drama), but it's small, simple and sweet, that I just really like them. And not to mention, this is the aether world(maybe?) or atleast contains aethers, so super excited, since they are the last important cosmere pillar. Iriali are here! I was so taken a back by that. How many planets could they be on? The fairy tale style is not my cup of tea at all, i think that takes a lot of investment away( because then I get reminded that I am reading a story) and hoid I am afraid will be a lot more like Wayne than i would like( which is 0%), but this is going to transition to an epic fantasy, so fingers crossed. Still super excited for this! (Fairy tale style usually only works for children stories for me, like the Hobbit, Narnia, Princess bride which is something that I don't think fits with cosmere very well) (Now I feel greedy and want an epic fantasy set on sel(it has the best magic systems))
  2. A great name for the Sanderson theme park The Cosmere
  3. Isn't it much more like Brandon to take this character and make him one of the protagonists of second half? Like maybe the stoneward radiant main guy? He would be like 19 years i think
  4. I don't believe in the theory, but where did it get debunked?
  5. I don't think anyone expects for Roshar to be destroyed completely. My theory was that a big chunk of Roshar would be destroyed, because of the vision Dalinar sees at the end of TWOK, like Maybe from natanatan till the horneater peaks. Forcing the story to focus on the western part of Roshar, which is severely underutilized, and mass migration to shadesmar
  6. I am surprised that no one has brought up the WoB that Endowment has no plans outside of Nalthis right now. That seems to disprove stuff
  7. Yes. A thousand times this. He was a very interesting character in Oathbringer
  8. So after era 1, reading secret history, listening to shardcast episodes and a lot of WoB's, I was super sad to learn that Kelsier was going to be a villain. Some of the WoB's: 'If kelsier was in any other story, he would be the villain', 'kelsier is a psychopath' etc. Now I don't know much about what Brandon means by psychopath ( maybe he means Kelsier has a mild form of ASPD?) from what I understand of the word, i completely disagreed. Kelsier is just too affectionate, loving, and caring to be a psychopath, maybe that's my ignorance talking. The shardcasters seem to heavily agree in this direction And I don't know what the general consensus the fandom has on Kelsier, but i don't see a lot of people disagreeing, so i want to get a lot off my chest. And then a theory First how I read Kel:( u can skip to the theory) The theory: Hoid is the villain of scadrial I think Brandon is backtracking a little about this. A recent WoB said that thaidakar would moderate how mraize runs ghostbloods on Roshar, which makes sense to me. We cannot forget the scene where he accepts the command to 'not toy with the hearts of men' with a 'yes, my lord'. We later see him becoming the god of South scadrial, helping them survive when harmony has almost abandoned them. He is clearly pushing for scadrians to develop technologicaly by making the two sides meet, to protect scadrial as a whole from harmony's mistake of over fertilization of land. Kel is the utilitarian protector of scadrial right now. His methods are questionable, but the intent is still good. He will protect Scadrial from Hoid. Why? If you know only a little about the cosmere( there are multiple worlds and hoid is in every book) and then read only era one and secret history, hoid looks like the bad guy. He gives off literal bad vibes to Vin, he stole lerasium beads right when the planet and Leras were dying, he beats up Kelsier, khriss and nazh seem disturbed by his presence. In era two, the only thing he does do is help wax against Kelsier( with the coin). In the letters to hoid, while harmony is enthusiastic in fighting against odium, we never see a reply or them becoming allies. He is also the one hoid deliberately fools( with his disguising trick). It's far fetched, but i think hoid does not like harmony much or scadrial. If you read only storm light archive, u would think hoid is a good guy. I made a theory about this too. He also used the name midius( from liar of partinal) to the heralds. He respects the heralds. He helps the protagonists a lot. He has a love interest there now. This is hoid at his best and most loveable. I have a theory that goes in depth. Also I think that Hoid will betray Roshar and have a redemption arc in second half but anyway.. We know the future cosmere conflict is prolly Scadrial vs Roshar. Earth tech vs magitech. Utilitarianism vs deontology. Rebels vs establishment( from a WoB). Survivorism vs whatever Dalinar's religion will be called( prolly). And hoid will side with Roshar Not only because he may have emotional ties, but because of its heavy magic, fight against odium and dawnshards. It's hoid vs Kelsier round two. Hoid- the villain of scadrial and the hero of Roshar.
  9. Ohh that makes sense
  10. Why is that? Just curious
  11. If that was true, then why in the world would Brandon show him outsmarting Hoid at the end of the book?? You only get to do that once and it indicates longevity.
  12. I am not saying that the human heartbeats are mimicing the rhythm of war lol, that's impossible. I am saying that the rhythm of odium may also contain heartbeats as it's underlying beat, and then it syncs with the same beat of Honor. The whole rhythm is chaotic, but it has a simple beat which Navani's and Raboniels heartbeats can sync to. Am I making any sense?
  13. But they have similar heartbeats right?
  14. What I want to hear more of your thoughts on is why do the heartbeats sync during the creation of rhythm of war? It makes it seem like odium also is connected to heartbeats. It's amazing what you can do with a digital book and a word search when you are bored and have too much time
  15. Sorry for reviving my own thread, but i definitely have very compelling evidence now to support my theory. This is so obvious now, i guarantee you will facepalm. Storms are connected to Honor Not convinced? Syl will make it waay clearer. Navani talking about rhythm of Honor And later, for rhythm of war Eshonai's death One more smaller example I fact, the cliche of your 'heart beating like thunder' is used sooo many times, I think Brandon went ahead and made it part of his lore. I am now completely confident that the rhythm of Honor contains heartbeats. I think this is very much confirmed. Tinfoil: And maybe even the rhythm of odium( it does say that their heartbeats synced in making rhythm of war) It could also be that every shards rhythm has heartbeats, meaning heartbeats could be the rhythm of adonalsium! My reasoning is: Elantris spoilers Also, these quotes Rhythm of his life itself, or maybe his soul? The flames represents the soul in shadesmar, and there really does not need to be an allusion to a beating heart but there is. Maybe because souls, spiritwebs and spiritual realm are all created by ado, and it's his rhythm?? Thoughts on both theories please! @Frustration strike me down with your divine (shardic) fury
  16. We do know that a Windrunner in shardplate is very well equipped to be an astronaut, so if Brandon was thinking of radiation during that ans, yes
  17. Ummm... I don't think so? Infact he isn't even called Harmony in the letters
  18. He just so happens to be an idiot on the day of the match, and tearfully encourages the team to lose since the other side needs the win more and conflict is not good
  19. Why would Jasnah have to figure it out???She saw her father die in front of her, why would she question it? She isn't omniscient lol. She didn't even know that sleepless were a thing until hoid informed her. We saw from her point of view that she had no idea what Gavilar was doing (with the sons of honor) when he was alive, why would she have any idea about what happened to him after he died??
  20. I thought about this a lot and i think the people of scadrial are actually lucky. Like think about it. Harmony is forced to rely on Wax as his sword for a lot of affairs instead of himself, which might be better for scadrial overall. Maybe this is actually better. Like shards are such powerful people, their tiniest decisions can have huge ramifications for generations and generations. By empowering his own people fight against other threats, Harmony can let them be responsible for their own future. Other shards can't wait like that, make humans their swords and stuff, cuz they will slowly lose their minds to their intent. But not harmony. Preservation used Vin to fight Ruin, instead of fighting Ruin himself. Because humans have more choice, less restricted by their powers and their mistakes can't be as catastrophic as a shards. Maybe Wax is supposed to defeat trell and stuff, not Harmony Ya, I also think that sazed can't rather than won't. But i think that's still lucky for scadrians. For example, about the world ending threat, in the new blurb its written that harmony's future sight does not work in a city. Boy isn't it really good that he has a very reliable and powerful follower who can actually change things? Because human beings are not completely powerless, they have other advantages. Adonalsium did get murdered by 16 people after all. SA spoilers-ish
  21. One of the things that kinda bugged me is that sazed taking up two shards instead of the traditional one, seems to have been more of a detriment than an advantage. The two intents are against each other, so he finds it difficult to act or do anything. He needs agents like Wax to be able to do anything. That kinda sucks, doesn't it? Especially since it seems like he needs to fight against Trell, a new shard on the planet. Unless it's a blessing in disguise. Because what do we know about the original shareholders? That most of them fall prey to the intent of their power, slowly growing insane with time. But harmony is not in that danger. Preservation by the end could not even muster up the courage to stab elend in secret history. Ruin lost his humanity and became a force of destruction. But with harmony's two powers cancelling each other out, I suspect that harmony is in no danger of ever losing his sanity. He can go on for maybe eternity and still be as human and caring as he used to be and make the difficult choices his position requires. I don't think the cosmere will go on for that long, but i think we will never have to worry about sazed going insane. Add to this the harmony/discord issue and the excess ruin that elend burned off slowly coming back, we could have some interesting plots
  22. I think moash would say that the entire process that he went through was very uncomfortably enlightening
  23. The main problems I have with Gavilar as the champion is 1) would come out of nowhere for the general reader 2)gavilar doesn't seem like a fighter or a threat to the Bondsmith blackthorn 3) Dalinar is not an idiot. He would go ahead with killing Gavilar anyway, especially if he finds out that gav is not a good man.
  24. How are ruin and cultivation opposites?? The WoB is they both are very similar because they both are about change. On the other hand, harmony can barely do anything, because Ruin and Preservation have opposite intents. I didn't understand this, how is this possible if Ruin and cultivation are opposites as u say anyway?
