  1. I agree with the flaw, but i think Dalinar is slowly moving towards overcoming this flaw. RoW Dalinar has finally admitted that democracy and beurocracy is better than one leader making all the decisions. And i don't think adolins problem with his dad is done yet. They are almost definitely going to have some resolution in book 5, where Dalinar finally stops holding adolin to impossible standards
  2. My theory has always been deathspren, because moelach seems to be drawn to death( maybe). If they are truthwatcher cousin (shardplate) spren, that would be awesome
  3. But isn't eye color regarded well in the culture because of the memory of radiants? It's not something random with no explanation
  4. What I said in the title. It is a very wierd and specific detail, and this is a series where these kinds of bodily wierdnesses indicate connection, like with vedens and horneaters or with singers and horneaters and herdazians. So does anybody have any theories on why thaylens have huge flowing, white eyebrows?
  5. No need to bear the sins, but the descendants need to take responsibility for the actions of their forbearers and atleast correct them in the present and also never repeat said actions
  6. You are forgetting, the reason why nightblood could kill rayse was because of renarins future sight clouding his perception. Also rayse happened to visit him in a vision. Having nightblood on your planet means you can control it easily and track it's movement. If nightblood is out of your control and kills shards without your control, is it even useful? I am thinking of a nuclear weapon here. Would not it be good to have it with you for protection? Hopefully never have to use it? I am not even sure if nightblood is on her side anymore, unless she has beyond ridiculous talent with futuresight. And Vasher seems to hate her right now and freely gave nightblood to the nightwatcher. So I don't think she has any control over it. I was thinking of trell like interference from endowment rather than a complete transfer to Roshar. Or specifically to Ashyn. I never said that endowment's vessel will die or that lift will somehow merge them. Soulcasting in the original vision of stormlight archive was called awakening. That has now changed. It was just a minor point. Hoid is notoriously unhelpful and if we need to understand dawnshards, we need to understand what a command actually is. Only Awakeners have actual use of Commands in their magic system.
  7. But since I was talking about if our hoid is also his own apprentice so what that would mean is Hoid's apprentice is also hoid's apprentice Hoid's apprentice is also hoid's master Hoid's master is also hoid's master Make sense?
  8. Sure but then it would be unsatisfying for the fans who like them now, if the maximum these things lead to is like a ref in a future cosmere novel. Also don't forget, Brandon kind of writes whatever he wants, whenever he wants. I would not be surprised if one of the SP's gets a sequel before elantris (which is supposed to be main cosmere) or Nightblood. Pre desolation and Ashyn will almost def be explored, that is important to the plot. I predict that after SA 10, we know everything about pre desolation, nohadon's time period (maybe but very unlikely), last desolation (maybe)and the recreance. However we will know about the times in between or anything just before the present day. It would be funny if we don't even know what the zero year for the vorin calendar was after 10 books. Considering he needs 3 years for just SA books and there are 6 left with 5 years real world time in between 5 and 6, i am skeptical.
  9. Vasher never devised the religion on Nalthis. He was born as a part of it(warbreaker . From WoBs we have real confirmation that the returned coming back for a purpose is real and done deliberately by Endowment. I want Vasher's death to be something Endowment didn't plan, as it's clear that he hates her. I want it to be his choice. I only want Vasher because I feel he has suffered enough and needs a good death.
  10. My unpopular opinion: The cosmere is too big too be coherent or satisfying. He has too many planets and and each of those planets have too many magic systems. He has forgotten his own rule, that is ' go deeper not wider' or quality over quantity. If he stuck with 10 or 12 shards and then deeper with the limited worlds he had. It would be faaar more satisfying. Right now when I read the cosmere I am torn between a desire for Brandon to go write about the six shards we know nothing and also wanting him to flesh his already written works out a lot more. I still can't believe that stormlight archive is one of the biggest books i have read and i have no idea what has happened in the last 2 thousand years. Western Roshar has some of the most interesting cultures Brandon has written and we still haven't seen them. Imagine an alternate universe where the cosmere was only 6-7 planets. Three main ones Roshar, scadrial and sel. Three minor ones being taldain, Nalthis and threnody. They cover 10 shards. Let's add the aether planet because that is supposed to be important to the broader cosmere story. And then the main cosmere story is the heavy interplay of these planets and their cultures and their magic systems. Their cultures can be a lot more fun because the individual history of these planets can now be fleshed out more. I want a book set during a desolation on Roshar, I want to know more about pre ascension scadrial, I wanna know a hell lot more about the damn manywar on Nalthis. But none of these are important to the broader cosmere story so now I don't want Brandon to waste time on them. It's frustrating. Really Brandon? Sixth of the dusk could not have had a shard on that planet? It had to be some random adonalsium perpendicularity? You already have a lot of shards left and we don't even know the shards we know well enough! Like we knew 5 original shareholders and 3 more are dead on arrival. 2 shards are present we have not met them yet. There there are 6 more we found out recently we know nothing about. And more infuriating for me, SP1 spoilers Tldr: i think he bitten of more way more than he can chew. Now with all the SPs i don't see a way he can tie all the magic systems in a satisfying way. The stormlight archive magic systems have enough possible applications to last everyone a lifetime of reading. Second opinion: Brandon is very lazy about history. The pre ascension and the desolations are so complete in the destruction of their cultures that it becomes pointless to read about them. Brandon cares too much about the present story arc, instead of history which would give his world a sense of realness Deeper not wider, Brandon
  11. I agree, not to mention his entire conflict is about how to handle power and war, which are the two main themes of Stormlight archive (the knights radiant, Bondsmith unchained, the Alethi society, the desolations etc). Vasher is definitely healing someone in the next book. Also he clearly is going to have an arc with azure in the horneater novella we will have, something is going to change for him i feel. My theory is that all this is set up for endowment to arrive on roshar.
  12. Dalinar: Killing four people when we know one of them is innocent is just wrong, taravangian! Tara: We can't just let 3 criminals go! Anyway we try some innocent people will die in a justice system! That's just how things work Dalinar: Ah but you forget, the death of an innocent person then happens due to a lack of knowledge, it wasn't intentional. Tara: So the fact that it was an accident excuses it!? Dalinar: No but the blame then lies on the investigators- Tara: You know what, we have been arguing for 300 years now, i really should try to start to escape this oathpact. I have a lot of plans for the cosmere Dalinar: Fine!... Tara: (looks at dalinar judgingly) Dalinar: (looks at Tara, judging him harder) Tara: ... Tara: The main point here was- Narrator: And Roshar was safe from odium for eternity.
  13. A shard has almost infinite investiture (masss investiture equivalence means that all shards have a universe worth of investiture), so combining honorblades or spren or 5th ideal radiant investiture would not be comparable. Also Dalinar has already ascended according to odium, which makes sense in a way because a perpendicularity probably has more investiture than everything else combined
  14. Why do you think BAM didn't directly connect with singers?
  15. Ok, i don't get that WoB at all, how does awakening soulcast statues immediately translate to lifeless soldiers? The main problem with awakening stone was that stone is not flexible. Kalads phantoms can move because they are actually skeletons, just encased in stone. My assumption was that the joints have gaps or spaces or something for it to be able to move. Is that wrong? Thunderclasts can move because the made of many individual prices of stone. But soulcast statues would be in one price right? No mobility then...
  16. Aren't there a loot of interspecies romances that work out in Invincible? What are you talking about?
  17. Harmony's sword is a teaser for Mistborn era 2. Wax is the person the term is referring to.
  18. Oh I get you now, that's a really interesting thought! But in this nohadon vision, he is directly talking to Dalinar and not some 'old friend' since he directly calls Dalinar by his name later. If you are thinking of the young nohadon vision, where nohadon is talking about some guy called 'karm' I can see that.
  19. Interesting, but then this is about their innate investiture that won't be affected by worldhopping, so still no withdrawals i think
  20. But regular rosharans use stormlight only for illumination. They can't even use it unless they are radiant so how will they have withdrawals? Stormlight used to grow plants, I thought, was because it's hard to grow plants in solid rock and stormlight helps the process. I don't think there is any indication that stormlight grown plant food has stormlight in it, or is any different from normal plant food
  21. @Green Hoodie MistbornSo your objection was not something I saw coming because I thought the morality of Endowment was the least controversial part of my theory. But I will do my best to answer I don't understand what you mean here since we have seen very evil shards by now.. Do you mean wanting Nightblood on your side is bad? Because to me it feels pragmatic. And using Nightblood is something a shard would do. Example: Cultivation used nightblood for her plans. But i don't think i understood what you meant by this. But you forget, Endowment returned the five scholars for a reason. They were meant to create nightblood and she wanted nightblood for her plans. So now it seems like she would want it back right? This WoB proves that Endowment wanted nightblood to be created. We know Endowment has good future sight ( lightsong was in the right place at the right time to stop a second manywar). The returned were returned for a reason, and what they did was improve awakening technology so much that wars became really, really destructive. From coppermind, we will find out that visions of the future caused the manywar( Vasher tried to get ahead of it). This all seems like this could have been stopped if endowment wanted. She literally has the power to smite down anyone on the planet( yup! another WoB) So I don't think endowment is as nice as you think she is. Vasher, in row, says he hates endowment, and i think he has good reason to. From what we know of her, she seems like a manipulater. Tldr: She created nightblood for a reason. Maybe she hasn't fallen to her intent? Either way she prolly wants it back
  22. I haven't seen much discussion on this here, but what shard do we think is associated with lumar? I know that aethers think that they are not created by adonalsium, but this is a 'different strain' of aethers and the world clearly has investiture. What shards does it feel like are associated with Lumar? I am hoping for a wierd combination of the new shards we haven't seen anything of. Like valor and mercy together.
  23. Can't be, since the delay should not be measurable by current Roshar technology. For reference, light can travel along earth's equator 6 times in one sec (i think). The delay implies that spanreeds are nowhere close to the speed of light
