  1. How could you!!! Cryptics have every right to be referred to exactly how they want to. I am shocked at such a conversation happening in our open minded forum. I am offend! Offend I say!
  2. My assumption is.... Jasnah will not care enough about it and it will be done offscreen. Stormlight characters have veeery little consequences Like did Kal ever reveal that he was considering killing Elhokar with Moash? He told them about Moash offscreen, but what exactly? Did they question him at all on how long he knew about moash's plan? Or did kal lie by omission? Nothing, we had our arc, forget about it now. What about Dalinar and his truth about killing Evi to his sons? How did that actually go? The way Oathbringer ends, it almost looks like Adolin finds out at the same time as public, with the release of Dalinar's Oathbringer, which would be very bad. Anyway, why not show us the scene? Instead we get a year gap, where they are comfortable enough around each other to joke. Brandon writes over the stickier situations a lot.
  3. The long term plan for the cosmere is supposed to become sci-fi esque, so Brandon is setting it up right now
  4. So Godeke doesn't see himself as someone with a deformity?. Like blind people often say being blind is a part of their identity
  5. I don't know The wait kinda looks a the result of a problem not being fully solved and instead a temporary solution was found. Like maybe an oathpact that lasts for the gap. A delaying tactic. It is not set in stone, but is based on the ideas like will Odium lose in book5 of 10? Especially this will be the first book of taravodium. Will he lose immediately? That will be boring a little. But it's just a theory, not a fact
  6. Because Dalinar keeps thinking about it. And there is a 10-15 year gap between first and second half of Stormlight
  7. This isn't a new theory or anything, but I am going to try and explain completely how Stormlight Healing works because it is a little confusing. Stormlight Healing is based on Identity. But it is not clear exactly what that means. For example: The Reshi King changed genders because he always viewed himself as male, even though he was in a female body. That makes sense. Kaladin's scars don't heal straight away because he views himself as a slave( straight wob i think) That makes sense but then we hit a snag with Lopen Lopen heals his arm back, which is wierd because this is the guy who made one armed jokes constantly during two books. He doesn't see himself as a one armed man? I guess he still had many memories of having two arms. And then we get to Godeke in ROW, who was BORN deformed and he still grows himself a normal body? How is that not a part of his identity? The quote is confusing too. What I think it means Godeke healed because he had no problems with his self image. I think his shape was a part of his identity, but his actual spiritweb still has a normal body. He doesn't see himself as less deserving of a normal body, so he heals to that. He has no shame in his deformed body and saw himself as equal to able-bodied people, so he healed. If he thought that he deserved to be deformed, the healing would not work. Kal thinks he deserves to be a slave till the fourth ideal. So I think that even if The Reshi King realised that he had a male soul in a female body, if he had depression or something, which made him think that he deserved to be trapped in a female body, the Stormlight healing would not work. This might be old news to you guys, but I can see people getting confused here Thoughts?
  8. Putting myself into this discussion, so if odiums champion poisoned Dalinar so that he will definitely die 3 days later, is that a tie(the champion is dead)? Did dalinar still lose, and taravangian gets what he wanted. (Also, this was an asoiaf reference)
  9. Any more cosmere connections and it would have been criminal to market this as an era 2 book
  10. why? I am saying that the blade was enshrined with the king. Brandon said that skaze turning into blades is theoretically possible, which would be wierd to say if it already happened in the story
  11. Isn't it more likely that he is calling the first wyrn as 'he'? Or mistook Gretgor as the first wyrn
  12. Nope, Stormfather accepted Eshonai's words without her saying anything. Before anyone brings up Elhokar, he needed to say it out loud because of his psychology. He usually hid from truth using denial and pretension.
  13. Who said it will even happen? The question was can it happen, not will it happen.
  14. I forgot, is this real or just a headcanon?
  15. My idea was that it would be more indirect. Kal would create the Worldsingers, who in turn spread the religion. One main reason I thought this was that Oathbringer is about redemption and how a person can change. A belief in such a religion would be very useful for therapists doing their job.
  16. Created a one use weapon using 4 dawnshards? We know dawnshards can create a universe
  17. This is the link for the kal and hoid chapter. Okay.....<breathes deeply> gives a bloodcurdling scream of joy This reading gave me the biggest evidence that my SECOND theory, and the one that I liked so much that I named my profile after it, is atleast something Brandon is clearly thinking about. This was the theory. You don't need to read it as I will go through it again. Tldr: Kaladin becomes a worldsinger... Of sorts. He is not going to become an actual singer or storyteller like Hoid. He becomes a bridge between humanity and the singers by travelling around Roshar with a mix of humans and singers and listeners. He will heal people using his new therapist skills and by spreading the religion that Oathbringer will bring about. I will explain all of this. The biggest problem with my theory was that Kaladin has never shown any interest in music or learning the flute. But now he is... And more importantly in the Szeth flashback, he dances to the wind while his sister plays the flute. He loves music and dancing, which will be helpful for Kal to connect with him in 'therapy'. So music is going to be important in this book, which makes sense as ROW skyrocketed the importance of rhythms in this world. Now back then I sucked at writing theories and it amounted to a jumble of speculation. I didn't show how I arrived at those ideas well. Well let me try to convince you again 1) Syl is definitely becoming a human: Throughout ROW, her whole arc is becoming human. She rediscovers her buried trauma, she can't help Kal with his pain because now she is experiencing(remembering) real loss for the first time. She mentions that she is really starting to change, which unsettles her. Spren aren't supposed to change. Kal has to help her remember the words, which is quite a role reversal. At tefts funeral: Also, Ishar has noticed that honorspren live the longest when pulled to the PR(15 mins). This happens as they are the most humanoid spren. How could you possibly increase that limit? With an honorspren who has enough connection in the physical realm to manifest as a shardblade. Kaladin at his fourth ideal can hold her hand. Syl has been gaining mass throughout the story(heh). Not only that, she also has been appearing in her human form more throughout this story, including the preview. Her arc is about growing up. Kal in the previews has been thinking about how insubstantial Syl is right now, 2 or 3 times. In 2 chapters. I think this is setup for the end, where Syl comes to the physical realm fully. Syl's chapter icon has her holding a backpack maybe, which seems more likely to be in the PR. My bet is that it takes atleast a 4th ideal radiant honorspren to survive ishar's experiment. So I firmly believe that Syl will become physical. 2) Kaladin back to normal My belief is that he will lose them powers. He will go back to being a normal human. A nahel bond is impossible with a 'human' or a physical entity. The powers came from a bond to a cognitive entity, which allows bending natural laws. Syl says that gravity is just 'an agreement between friends'. These friends are just the cognitive aspect of the atoms, molecules and other things in the world. This honestly makes sense. What kal wants is a normal, happy life and time to deal with his PTSD. He can also continue becoming the world's first therapist because he still wants to help people. With lesser power does come lesser responsibility, so if he stops being a radiant, he can be guilt free in opening up a practice. 3) Hoid, the flute and ....storytelling? Now is where the flute comes in. Hoid has been giving Kal free therapy with his stories for some time. And now Kal choosing to become a therapist creates a great parallel with Wit. I wasn't even expecting him to learn the flute at all( more on that later) but now I am stoked. Kal becoming a worldsinger tho? Do I think Kal will become a full blown musician? No, I think (if)any musical skill Kal gets will specifically be used for helping Szeth (or spreading Honors Rhythm? Maybe) But Wit is a storyteller. That's his therapy. But there is no way Kal will be a storyteller! So doesn't that break the parallel? Well no, actually. I think there is a story that Kal can help spread. Oathbringer. It is a book specifically intended to create a religion. Whatever happens to Dalinar, it would be wierd for the book to have no effect on the plot after its written as it is already gaining momentum in ROW. It is a big symbol of redemption for readers and the characters. Who else can spread the influence of that story quickly than Stormblessed, a living legend? 4) Worldsingers and Singers Kal becoming a worldsinger is not going to happen. But i think he will encourage it's existence by either creating it(with Sigzil?) or in some way being it's face to the public. But he will do it in conjunction with the singers. Kal always has had a connection with the singers and with the listeners. It would be criminal for Worldsingers to not include Singers now. And Kal is the foremost human in the story to empathize with their plight. A mixed group of humans and singers traveling around helping people would be a great way to help heal the rift between humans and singers Tldr: Kal creates Worldsingers as a group of humans and singers. They travel around spreading Oathbringer religion(and therapeutic practices?). This theory has been percolating in my brain for two years now, and this chapter confirms that Brandon is clearly thinking something about it. It's either a giant red herring or a lot of foreshadowing. If it is, I called it when I started this account. Some of the foreshadowing Kal is done being a fighter. He said so at the end of ROW. His mental health needs to come first. He will instead help other people become fighters and sing through other singers mouth. Kaladin Worldsinger Kinda
  18. This is my 2nd favourite book 5 ending for Kaladin. Obviously by the end of the second half, I want him to be able to leave the oathpact, but this would be a great ending for Kal in book 5. Imagine, the guy who struggles with the pain that life deals him and does not want to live ends up choosing a life of torment for the sake of others.... I get chills just thinking about it.
  19. Please don't reveal the answers too quickly. The actual reveal happens at the end of the fight anyway. I feel @Amira is only transcribing her current thoughts and theories, they are not meant to be answered.
  20. I think if Brandon does that, there is a good chance that the second half will only be four books or 5 shorter books. Which I would like
  21. How would that effect the Maya and honorspren situation in your head? Or is that plot scrapped entirely?Does adolin become a radiant in that alternative book?
