Sweet! So you've read Rhythm of War, huh. Complete Bands of Mourning, then read Secret History! You should get Arcanum Unbounded, it's a collection of all the Cosmere novellas and short stories (minus Dawnshard), so it contains Mistborn: Secret History, Edgedancer, Emperor's Soul, two stories set in two entirely new worlds, some other short stories. White Sand graphic novels are a bit hard to get at the moment, but you can nab the White Sand prose by subscribing to Brandon's newsletter, you'll find a link to download it in the latest newsletter e-mail.

Is there a timeline for the cosmere somewhere?
Honorless replied to Waffles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
There's these: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JJtJhHwpKdow01n2-bsT3scVvqJd6lZh4uvpNwcslv8/edit#gid=0 (Cosmere timeline of some important events - incomplete) -
Why did Lezian the Pursuer say "damn"?
Honorless replied to Dox Me Kev's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Why wouldn't he know the word "damn"? I mean, for Braize to be called "Damnation", the Rosharans would need to understand the idea of being "damned". -
Khlennium?

Odium's forces use the corrupted rhythms like emotional allomancy
Honorless replied to mdross81's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Moash's emotional numbing also supports the theory, I think. Odium can push and pull, enflame and suppress emotions, it looked quite similar to emotional Allomancy. -
This... gives me an idea for an ending of Stormlight where the conflict is solved by... making Braize habitable and either humans or Singers migrating there.

Oh my, good work! Kal is just full of Divine Attributes, lol!

Bondsmith Third Ideal Disappointment
Honorless replied to jamesbondsmith's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree, self-improvement is a component of the oaths of all the Orders but as the Order with the most power and influence, their third Oath would've been better aimed towards responsible use of their authority, as the Order tending towards the theme of uniting people, this becomes very important to build mutual trust. -
I know all too well about names that are one letter off from popular names Welcome to the Shard! So, who would you say is your least favourite Cosmere character?
-
Oh man, I hate to say this but Reddit might be better till you finish a series, Sharders can be... very enthusiastic, and so spoilerific stuff might spill out! Regardless, welcome, just be careful!

Lightweaver! (But actually! I make 3D Virtual Events)
Honorless replied to arelavellino's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Agreed, Preservation is to die for! Welcome to the Shard! Ha! With the amount of events Brandon does, many fans will be very happy with your products! Stormlight and Mistborn VR would indeed be the dream! -
Oh, oops, oh well, that's the book where we first get to hear about the Orders of the Knights Radiant, so keep an eye out for the epigraphs from the in-world book called the Words of Radiance !

How do they test for cadmium mistings, anyway?
Honorless replied to Necessary Eagle's topic in Mistborn
Could Leechers help? They wipe out Allomantic reserves, not just Investiture but the metals themselves. There's contradictory, ambiguous, RAFO-y, undecided and complicated WoBs regarding aluminium & chromium but given that in-book aluminium is used to purge metals from the body, I'm assuming chromium does the same. -
Welcome to the Shard! Who's your least favorite Cosmere character?

Interesting idea, but isn't the Nexus of Transition on the Reshi Seas?
-
Yeah, Ashyn is the next most common guess after Threnody for Expanse of the Broken Sky from what I've seen. What the Nexuses are hasn't been confirmed yet. Some people also theorized that they might be connected to Roshar's moons. That they might connect to other planets in the Rosharan system is the more popular theory though there is a hiccup with that: there are three Nexuses and only two other inhabited planets in the Rosharan system, though the Nexus-Rosharan planets theory does seem more likely after info from RoW Speaking of info from RoW, wouldn't Nexus of Imagination leading to Braize make more sense? That is where the Voidspren came from, including Ulim and the Stormspren, where the Everstorm came from, and where the "border storm" is

I thought of Nightblood, the worldhopping soul-devouring sword too but now that I think about it... it could also be referring to a Shardblade, right?
-
Brandon's never going to give answers about the afterlife/the Beyond but people within the Cosmere do wonder that since Nightblood consumes all the Investiture of a person, that person might not move into the Beyond. RoW shows that a large portion of the spren society believe that if a spren dies, since their very being is made up of Investiture, they don't go into the afterlife but are well and truly destroyed, unlike people whose Spiritual imprint lingers on in the Spiritual/Cognitive self is pulled on into the Beyond. People in-world conflate the Spiritual realm with their beliefs of the afterlife. I suggest going to Arcanum and looking up entries on Spiritweb, Soul, Beyond, Afterlife: Brandon explains it best.

I wonder why the Deadeyes were gathering outside Lasting Integrity... was something happening there on the Physical side? I don't think they were gathering for Adolin or Maya or Restares or Shallan...

[Theory] Taln Wasn't the Herald Who Broke; It Was Chanarach
Honorless replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That makes a horrifying amount of sense... -
I thought the spren, being Cognitive, could just speak all Rosharan languages from the get-go. Besides, the spren had no contact with the Rosharans for long enough to have their languages diverge a bit. Spren are basically immortal, so it was probably the humans whose tongues diverged. The spren probably would have their language for precisely this reason, human languages change, and humans weren't always there to begin with. And it makes sense for the Cryptics, given that they are the spren of the underlying mathematical truths of the world, to have a mathematical language. The Stoneward spren apparently have different nations, I wonder if each has its own language...
