  1. This, the Dog and the Dragon and Tien were among the best scenes in the entirety of the Stormlight Archive.
  2. Yeah, I felt the same way Hmm... Part 1 and the rest of the book do have a bit of disconnect looking at it that way, but I like Part 1 a lot. Venli trying to wash her hands off the whole thing was... weird narratively, but thematically quite suitable imo. Regardless, she really did not feel like a focus character in the book at all and that is a bit of a problem. Also we got so little about the Willshapers!
  3. I wonder if the beats/pulses of the Well of Ascension is the pure tone/Rhythm of Preservation
  4. We know Kelsier and Shai are definitely gunning for him. I'm sure they'd appreciate the additional support.
  5. Oh wow! Welcome to the Shard, hope to see you around on the forums! Have you taken the official Knights Radiant quiz? Which Order did you get?
  6. Welcome to the Shard! If you to read something Brandonesque after completing Brandon's stuff, you can always check out Brandon's own reccs over on his blogs or on reddit
  7. Well that's a rare Order to get! Welcome to the Shard!
  8. That topic has some decent theorizing on the subject
  9. While something like becoming Odium, either for better or for worse, would be a good character conclusion for Moash, that seems a bit repetitive as a plot device after Taravangian. But yeah, it could still happen.
  10. There's this: And yes, I think other people could use Elantrian made devices. The light Aon as well as the maker of the object providing the necessary Intent to make a magitech function provide good support to that supposition.
  11. I like it a lot! As for criticisms of Emperor's Soul, I think this guy has some good points:
  12. Happy to have you join us, hope to see you around on the forums!
  13. People theorize that Unity is a Dawnshard, the source of the warm light Dalinar felt
  14. Welcome aboard!
  15. Do you remember which chapter of WoK Prime it was where that was mentioned?
  16. Oh wow, that Ishar Oath thing seems far too significant to overlook. Did you try looking at the other Heralds' names? There might be a Mesopotamian or Hebrew basis for their names as well Edit: here, I'll add some of the older threads on the names of the Unmade:
  17. Welcome to the Shard! Ugh, algebra name! I'm being banished! Aughhhhhhhhhhh!
  18. Yes, you should've! *gasp* Predicting the future is of Odium! But the thing is, that's what we do! Welcome to Voidbringers anonymous!
  19. We're happy to have you! Hope you enjoy and see you around on the forums!
  20. A feeling of ugh, this again followed by a feeling similar to when one gets rickrolled is how I felt about this topic. Okie-dokie... hmm... might want to be more careful with how you talk about old Greco-Roman or Egyptian or Nordic faith. Like Neo-Paganism is a thing. Also, Wicca, also Hinduism, Shinto, various African and African diasporic pantheons like the Yoruba or Vodou and various animistic and ethnic folkloric beliefs. Polytheism really does not exactly work like how monotheistic religions describe them, given most of their understanding comes from preachings against idolatry and/or pop culture knowledge of the ancient Greek myths (for instance check out where the modern myth of Medusa's curse came from vs the older myth of three Gorgon sisters. Also check out how Athens got it's name, or the various aspects of Aphrodite, or where Dionysus and Pan came from.)
  21. Lol, well done!
  22. Is there any mention, or any possibility of figuring it out from context clues, exactly where in the skeletal structure of the Sho Del the Tamu Keks are located? What they look like? Do they resemble Gemhearts in physical appearance?
  23. I'll add this WoB here as well, for anyone wondering what the Tzai Blows are: We actually get to see it in action and get a good explanation of how it works here: https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-37-bridge-four-7/ (we also get that for Sho Del illusions here) I've copy-pasted the relevant portion here: (spoilered for length) Also let's not forget Yolish Dragons in general, who can shape-shift and their body seems to produce liquid Dragonsteel which flows along the contours of their scales and hardens. You can check out this chapter for a live Yolish Dragon: https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-35-bridge-four-6/ Also notable that they made swords out of Dragonsteel which could cut through armour like it was water.
