  1. Er, I can point out the locations. The central multi domed structure in Elantris is the Palace. To the bottom left of it, the open green area with long buildings would be the University. The cathedral structure seems to be the Korathi Church. The circular building south of it should be the Roost orphanage.
  2. Taravangian is a very nice demonstration of the difference between being selfish and being self-centred, imo. He isn't selfish, but by god, he's self-centred. He seems incapable of giving any true consideration to the viability of worldviews dissimilar to his own. His mind is made up, it's his way or no way. I don't hate him though. Hopefully, he can still change.
  3. @Aon Tia, it's been more than a year, can you recall-I mean reveal the answer? Eheheh

  5. There is the question of whether it might affect the Physical as well. The planet Sel itself is apparently becoming conscious according to Khriss in the Arcanum Unbounded, due two Shards worth of Investiture floating around. And if the time dilation does not affect the Physical, what does it mean for the minds of things on Sel? For the Cognitive aspects of its people? What happens when they die? Do they linger on for a long time due to the heavily Invested Cognitive Realm, with the time dilation possibly fitting in the equation? Assuming they don't get instantly vaporized by the Investiture plasma storm. If there are indeed Cognitive Shadows on Sel, this might possibly be how the legend of Svrakiss came around. @Eternal Khol, you double posted this topic. Hide the other one, since others have already responded here, I've copied my response over here as well.
  6. Ouch mate, definitely not the first person to find Shallan annoying though. I personally don't mind the jokes all that much. But yeah, she's had a fair few questionable moments: there's the boots things, which I have no idea why so many people find funny, and the "thanks for comparing women to peasants, Adolin" moment, which... better not to get me started on that. Whoo there's a lot to unpack there. There's some older threads on here that you might enjoy. But, imo, there's enough to sympathize with in her character. The recognition of her own trauma but also feeling like she isn't that traumatized, trying to be blasé about it. She's also not a weak character, she's been trying to find her own agency from when we met her. So I don't think she spends all her time moping and crying. I've seen that complaint about Kaladin, which is a bit unfair but it makes sense to feel that way about his character but I don't think this quite applies to Shallan. I especially liked her in WoK, where she was like a point of light in Kaladin's dark tale and whatever was happening with the Kholins that I wasn't interested in. WoR was a bit meh, lots of people had problem with her regression there. For me, the problem was mainly the possible romance aspect in the story between her and Kaladin, which I did not like at all. OB was good enough, she had some cool moments there. I liked her in RoW, and hey, you might too (and before anyone says that could be a spoiler, she's literally on the cover of the book!)
  7. It is Mraize's trophy room, it would kind of beat the purpose, and go against his philosophy of predation, for the Ghostbloods not to have reached Yolen to procure that trophy. I think that narratively too, that was the point of the trophy room, to show the Ghostbloods' reach. That WoB is very cheeky
  8. Ah, the satisfaction of milestones and round numbers

  14. Axindweth gave me the vibes that she might've been from before Rashek's Ascension. Chokes on tea Ahem. I'm not sure about the guy though. He gave me the impression that he may have been a defector from the Ghostbloods or from a rival organization.
  15. Sh-, just reread that scene. Yup, he's missing his metalminds. Mraize might indeed have performed Hemalurgy there. Also he was apparently changing his eye colour via some magic.

  17. I really want to see Sel's Cognitive Realm! Investiture plasma storm in the Cognitive Realm from two Shards getting locked there, possible Cognitive Shadows (Svrakiss), the planet itself gaining sentience according to Khriss in the Arcanum Unbounded, how the localization of magic systems to specific places might affect the Cognitive landscape. There's a lot! Now, its Investiture density causes time dilation!
  18. Sazed in the Mistborn era 3 final book conclusion: "You know, I should probably thank you. Without you forcing my hand, I would never have learned to see my powers in this manner. Without you, I would still have been walking a tightrope, trying to balance the two powers. I saw myself as the keeper of the delicate balance between two separate & opposing forces rather than the mixture of the two forces that I hold. I am both. I am my world's Preservation and your Ruin, foolish god!" *punts Odium*
  19. Everytime any of you did a gay reading of any characters or situations, the rest of y'all's smirks slowly rose up, up, up, up Anyway, that was a great Shardcast and happy Pride Month to all of you as well! Also, hey there Ene!

      wow, incredible

  22. Take a look at these: It's possible Investiture in general and/or all Invested objects give off slight Investiture radiation to some degree, which a very Investiture sensitive device or Invested Art could pick up on.
  23. Roshar is probably spren bonds Sel is programming languages
